His kids are grown, his home is paid off, and he is living the best years of his life! More power to him. May God continue to bless his life with many more years of happiness.
This is so true. My wife, and I bought our home in 1989, paid $290,000 for it. We lived a rice and beans diet just so we could take care of our kids, and pay the 12% APR Mortgage. Back in the 2019's home prices in out area started going up each month to the point by 2020 our $290,000 dollar homes was worth 2+ million dollars. We both had just retied that same year, and decided to sell, and move east in the state. We actually sold our home in five day's without using a Real Estate broker. Paid off what was left of our original mortgage, car payment, and paid cash for a much larger house all the way around. No mortgage now, Social Security, and retirement checks coming in, money in the bank, not a damn worry in the world. PLEASE NOTE: As a boomer my wife and I suffered for years so that we didn't miss a payment, no big vacations, money was super tight, but we held in there. To all Boomers who did this also...GOD BLESS your perseverance. So glad I had parents who grew up during the depression era. PEACE!
Boomers act like they worked hard, yet where born in the greatest economy ever created by NOT THEM and act like all you have to do is work hard, meanwhile they cashed out and left their next generation to rot with the only advice of “wOrK hArD”
I had a house for 23 years. I got ready to sell it and didn’t like the price. I put $4k into it, and a little sweat and sold it for $64k more. Bought an acre of land and a cheap RV. Built my own home off grid with solar panels and batteries by myself. No debt. No mortgage. Retired and keeping busy around the house and playing my drums.
Home boy smiling ear to ear while eating then turns around to see if anyone else watching his dance moves. Bless that man's heart for vibing out with the younger generations music. Get it* man! 🕺
@vergespierre4271 The man dancing is not high on life. He's high on drugs. Lol, btw, drugs are not bad when used for illnesses. I didn't mean it as an insult. You took it that way.
Can't emphasize this enough... but this is literally the way my coworker, Steve (63y/o) celebrated when he found out his house was worth ab 1.5M. Simply because a bunch of nice new houses got put up around it within the last 10 years. when he said he bought it for about $450k. So big ups for him
those valuations dont matter and wont, we are at the end stages of this monetary system. house prices are a result of the fed buying infinite debt to stabilze derivative markets lil bro
@@user-sp2yu9zt6h either way you look at it, he profited major on it. Also I'm sure what your saying is accurate, but I will say that gentrification is a real deal. I watch it happen and actually in a sense help it. And when areas which previously held houses of an average value of 200k, grows to an average value of 1.75M it is much more expensive to live on that street or in that neighborhood than it was previously. So what I'm saying is, yes I agree with you, but also gentrification creates higher average value which then creates higher rent/price the home.
@@jonah9696 In most cases its not gentrification rather private institutions setting monetary polices that benefit private corporations they own stake in; the private institution I'm talking about is the federal reserve. You'd be surprised how hard that down payment was to come up with at the time. I live in Southern California bought my house for $140,000. It sounds cheap to you in 2024 but I remember worrying about the payments. Now it's over a million and will be paid off in 2 years. I could sell and buy cheaper in another state but capital gains will take a lot. I would probably have to pay more property tax and a fortune hor heating. So I guess I'm staying

housing prices in canada have raised about 8x since the 80s while the average wage has only doubled. what you're witnessing is the slow, planned destruction of the middle class.
When boomers were 30 years old, 75% of them were able to own homes. Less than 25% of people in their 30s today are able to purchase a home. To purchase an average home a person will need to earn around 200k a year to equal the spending power the boomers had.

PEACE!
❤ you both deserve it. 😊
Bro yall had great health insurance and got 10% interest in a savings account. Man couldn't imagine that
Boomers act like they worked hard, yet where born in the greatest economy ever created by NOT THEM and act like all you have to do is work hard, meanwhile they cashed out and left their next generation to rot with the only advice of “wOrK hArD”
You don’t have a lazy bone in your body; just like my husband. He does the work of 2 Boomers / 5 Millennials 😮
Thanks. Reading this def gives me hope!!!

Dats a damn nice story man...enjoy it✊️

Funny thing is you don't pay taxes on the money you make off your home sale.
Biden wanted to raise capital gains tax to 40% which is more than double what it already is
Joe wanted to raise capital gains taxx to 40 percent which is double what it is now

The money is fake, and the only goal is to make sure no one owns anything except the few, they do that by purchasing real estate over asking with money they add digits to a screen on to prop up thier investment accounts xD
@@jonah9696 im pretty sure my reply got deleted, what a shame. I cant seem to say much on here. in short; its mostly not even gentrification rather private banks setting policies that benefit companies and institution they have stake in.

I talk to a lady when I worked as a customer service rep. She told me she bought her house in San Francisco for 60K decades back. She was constantly being harassed by realtors to sell her house to them. They were offering millions and offers kept climbing all the time. She refused though. She was a gem and I will always remember her snarky attitude with fondness.
She would advertise bought that house in the 1970's at the latest. Houses in SF haven't been that cheapnin almost 50 years.
My parents house cost 25,000 back in 1957. Nothing has gotten better since then so prices not based on reality
Did you scam her for millions

When boomers were 30 years old, 75% of them were able to own homes. Less than 25% of people in their 30s today are able to purchase a home. To purchase an average home a person will need to earn around 200k a year to equal the spending power the boomers had.
@@patrickkinnear8625and so what? That still means he earned it
Nobody said anything about if it was easier than if you had to earn it

My mom and grandma put 10% down ($4,000.) on a 6 bedroom house, newly built in Thousand Oaks, back in 1967. The house cost $40k, and it was 2 acres big, on top a hill, with an amazing view. The mortgage payment was $200. a month! My dad worked as a high school teacher, and we all grew up middle class. My mom never worked. 30 years later in 1997, the same house sold for $1.1 million. Today, that's like unheard of.
