  • Associate Professor Rebecca McKetin is a Curtin Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director at the National Drug Research Institute. Rebecca’s research has focussed on methamphetamine (‘ice’ or ‘crystal meth’), for which she has received an NSW/ACT Young Tall Poppy Science Award. Her major achievements include developing methods to estimate the number of people dependent on methamphetamine use in Australia, establishing a world-first longitudinal treatment outcomes study for methamphetamine use (the Methamphetamine Treatment Evaluation Study), quantifying the risk of mental health problems associated with the use of the drug, and developing an online intervention for people who use methamphetamine (Breaking the Ice).
    Take-Home Points:
    • Psychosis from methamphetamine is primarily paranoia, sometimes with hallucinations.
    • Dexamphetamine is available on prescription for ADHD, narcolepsy, and less often obesity due to the risk of dependence.
    • The effects of methamphetamine make it highly attractive to young people.

Huh? Funny how Vic has a better consistency of purity compared to w.a but nevertheless its a terrible drug, the whole environment of it all is toxic in itself and really is something no one should try, it's just not worth it... doesn't matter who you are it will destroy you physically and mentally and both on a equal level, these vids should have more public attention.

That's hilarious why don't they find a real IV shot, Nobody uses those kind of syringes and nobody shoots up like that everything is way off and looks weird
Correct about those serious about using a substance will pump it into the blood stream though so it passes the BBB instantly
