This is what I do. I dont have time or energy to deal with people. And most people can't handle being ignored. Which makes for some really funny story. Screaming, yelling, and magnificent tantrums.

reminds me of a screaming match I had with a driver at a store. At this particular store chain my company has priority(other than the stores trailers) at select docks... Another driver in a box truck decided that he wanted to try and take my door. got in a lil yelling screaming match and instead of entertaining him I was like nah lets get the receiver to decide (I knew damn well the outcome was its my door)... I got the door, he had a co-driver so he didnt even enter the store to unload his box truck (still at the wrong dock as this is a double dock both for dairy, eggs, company store trailers) they were supposed to be at the dry dock further down the building but didnt use their eyes nor brain.
Probably pissed him off when he saw I use a key to open a door that he couldnt get through lol (this store is a key store for my company so they issued us keys to this specific door)
I deliver for a grocery store chain and outsiders hate when we show up and get priority.

❤. That WAS a solid back ya did for SURE! Too bad that guy went and blew up at you. I have blown up like him before to absolutely innocent circumstances that I found out much later that I was sooo in the wrong. I am older now and have realized that I had needed to change that about myself. Just wish you didn't have to go through it.

No worries, it happens to most of us! I was once fueling at Loves at Hubbard Ohio after waiting 35 minutes for the guy in front of me to leave I decided to go and gently knock on his door to ask him he is all right so we can both start moving. Surprise ,surprise . He was just enjoying his foot long sandwich. I was yelled at and called all kinds of names so returned to my truck and waited 5 more minutes until he left. All other truckers around me did not say a word but made funny faces. O boy ...ugly memories....im laughing now!😂
I'm so sick of these people taking their damn break at the fuel island. Bunch of losers! Every time I had a scheduled fuel stop at a Loves, I dreaded it. Almost all of them are horrible to fuel at because of the Fuel Island Kings, who think they are super special and more important than everyone else.
Think about it this way, you get to relax for as long as those idiots decide to go on vacation at the fuel island.

Yeah i drive smaller 18 wheeler . The thing that gets me is i max at 70 and someone goes by at 80 mph like im the problem. Just occasionally karma happens and the dot flys up behind the the truck that some how sprouted and after burner and gets the blue light special 😅

He's got a point, actually. It doesn't matter of the lazy idiots in front of you didn't want to back into a drop spot to check in. I personally back into drop spots when in lots like that, whenever possible. The only time I'll park like you and the others did is if I can do it somewhere other than in front of dock doors, or if there is plenty of space for drivers who are docking in or out to setup and do everything they need to do whether or not I'm there. I'll have to watch again, but he could just suck at backing and he could have possibly had enough room to work with if his backing skills are up to snuff.
Some drivers are just so miserable man. Any little inconvenience and it enrages them. I can’t let that shit affect me. What kind of man would I be if I allowed some small thing to affect me? Not a good man. It’s nothing, leave it that, but some can’t.

Hes an owner op. Theyre usually twat waffles. Thats why i switched to tandems up on the thruway, hook 2 in our yard, take them to a drop lot, drop both, hook up 2 more and take them back to our yard, easy peasy lemon squeezy, no drama to deal with
i always back in one of those parking spaces on the right or a place out of everyone's way so people can get to the loading dock door or empty trailers on right

😂 this reminds me of delivering in mid-town Manhattan, before cell phones in the early 90s. There would be all manner of trucks and vans double parked. You would need to go to the business via elevator just to announce you are there, so by the time you got back to your truck. Every other truck had moved making it look like you just pulled up in the middle lane and parked causing many parking tickets.

He has said he has a backlog of content to upload while he is on his break to keep us entertained, but then he stopped posting them so he must’ve forgotten or is taking another break from UA-cam. So there’s allegedly videos queued up and ready to post (or they need editing and then post). He said his whole (I think 2 TB) hard drive is full of content.

HE said nothing would change and he would keep uploading after he left Online. HE said he had a backlog of content and had enough to keep putting videos out through the winter. He's put out two videos since he left. Two. In almost four months.
From a weekly upload, to nothing in two months now. Explain to me how having all of this readily available content means there's no content? He just stopped. And while he's more than allowed to do that, it's also alright for those of us to question and wonder what the fuck happened when he said nothing would change and literally everything changed.
Let's also not forget that he chose to leave a company at the height of a freight recession where companies have basically put a freeze on hiring because everything is so god awful slow right now, and right after Yellow collapsed leaving over 22,000 other drivers looking for work. Here's hoping he can get back in, but in all honesty it wouldn't surprise me if Online isn't taking him back due to not having enough freight to move just like all the other companies in the industry.
Dave, I really like watching your videos, and I get it, but at the same time I feel both of you were wrong in your own ways. Who knows how each person would have handled that. Kudos to you for posting it, I think that’s brave.

Its got nothing to do with being old. I'm getting up there in years and I'm wrong my fair share. The main thing i see is we remember when things were different. Drivers have no respect for one another. They are ok with doing things that make no sense. Probably not there fault they were told by some school to do things. Also theres way more trucks than their was just a few years ago.

The Idea of Leaving a Customer Location (BobTail) isn't new, and basically signifies the place you're delivering to isn't run correctly, and will perhaps do anything (Good or Bad) to save a freakn Dollar. Sending you offsite screws up a lot of the big brokers' apps for figuring out detention because once you go off site the app thinks you are unloaded. That's very likely what they are trying to do.
sorry you had to deal with him. i dont really have a job but i would think the best thing you can do there is dont take crap from people like him but at the same time try not to start to big of a fight with them because not only are you kind of stooping to there level but it kind of makes a mess like that even bigger sometimes. i've found that out with just having 3 other siblings who love to fight over stupid b.s all the time. 😂

I just happened to click on the video since it was in my recommended to watch. Minutes into the video while you drove down the road past the restaurant before approaching the receiver, I was like that place looks familiar. I've dropped off there once last year when I was in swift. Luckily for me I dropped off late at night when there were no trucks besides one other guy checking in ahead of me. That place is tight but not so bad. Definitely not enough room to be hooked to your trailer while getting off loaded. Definitely got to drop and park it somewhere. Any drivers coming to this place. DO NOT park on the side of the road by the entrance. In the video you'll see orange cones. When I dropped off there that one time, there were 2 bobtails stuck in the mud. Of course one of them was a Swift truck and me being a swift driver, it made me shake my head at that. I was a rookie and still am but I know better than to park on wet grass/mud. By the time I came back to pick up my empty after they got done unloading it, the wrecker was there pulling the swift out the mud. Theres a truck stop around the corner by the light and another gas station with some truck parking across from it. Cause it was late at night when I went, there was no parking. Forgot the interstate that runs thru there but remember a scale house rest area about 10 minutes away. There is 2 rest areas before it but was closed, not sure if it still is. Other than that, the scale house rest area is empty. I will end this by saying, the only issue I had with that place was after they unloaded, they left a whole lot of pieces of pallets and garbage in the trailer. Luckily they had a dumpster not far on the lot.

Im like you, usually, I'm also worried I'm in the way but when a driver starts talking to me like that, all bets are off. I would of, at the very least, put it in first gear and moved as slowly as possible. Thats me if I was in a good mood before that happened. I'm sure theres many of us that would have done alot worse if we were in a bad mood to begin with.

I’d say if I was getting paid per the move I’d be pissed if you were blocking, but being rational id understand theres probably a reason. This is ridiculous. He and others can back into the drop spaces on the right. Do a u-turn or back into a dock, then pull out and face the opposite direction, then sight side back into a drop-spot. There were spaces available on both sides. Also, everyone doesn't have to park near the check in door. Drivers can back into drop spaces further down and walk a little further to check in. That was how the majority of us drivers handled this in the 2000's and longer ago. I started trucking in 1995. I understand it's not always possible but we can see in the video there were many open spaces, both drop-side and dock-side for drivers to have done what I just described.When I started trucking, the rud idiots were just a small minority of us, . Now, only within the past 5 years have rude, idiot steering wheel holders become the majority.
You should've parked in a spot instead of blocking everything up. That excuse that trucks were everywhere aint cutting it. Be more patient and park in a designated area thank god you quit trucking

Dave, these are egotistical attitudes as residue of humanity that were never scraped up. They are in business for themselves by their own authority because they are the absolute epitome of rocket science. That one you dealt with is an o-ring specialist. What he did as an up and coming young driver new to the industry we don't have camera's and cell-phones to show you. But he will openly and publicly slam you for those same things and put it on a UA-cam video. He knows it. He is "gaming" you. He is giving you the ol' chest out routine because now he is a big bad Twuck Dwiver.
What set these guys up and what is making the trucking industry fall over itself is the "gone south business model" that larger companies will not change but they want AI because they don't like people. This Dwiver is why. The cost consequence of what these idiots are doing is the self-damage they made themselves not AI, not Mega Carriers and not flip-flops. Shippers, Receivers, Brokers are as bad and don't care and another Equity will be bought tomorrow and Mega-C CEO will smile at the bank listening to his daughters' violin solo.
You will see more so drop the idea of being naive or "I don't understand."

I want what I want when I want it and I normally get what I want whenever I want it because that is what I want. I won't tolerate back-sass because this is what I want anyway and I will do what ever I need to do to force you to hive me what I want. Since this is what I want I don't need to tell you why I want it just that I am going to get it as I want it. After I get what I want you can deal with the leftovers of my wants later for yourself. But me first because that is what I want for me.

THAT is the attitude waiting for you at shipper, receiver and fuel. We all have the same lines. Ain't no one getting any "faster" than anyone else and we all have the same dealings at check-in. We all got there by "big trucks" so when we step inside the truck will eventually be in the way. It happens. It's not the end of the world.
It will be the same tomorrow on the advice that sh-th--d gave when he did not pull out of the way either...knowing it's a shipper and other trucks were coming in.

SOME drivers out here now a days are ignorant impatient piece of shit assholes. this same thing happens at truck stops too only its a driver is trying to back in and an impatient driver sneaks around his blind side instead of waiting like are you kidding me?. im glad im not that way. i get that there are shippers/receivers like that, no room to park to check in an then you get a flood or wave of trucks all coming in at the same time. meanwhile there are no signs or anything on where to park/stage to check in so drivers park where they can then they get held up just waiting to check in while trucks leave that were initially there when you first got there. an then drivers get irritated/pissed off cause everyone is blocking there door or in the way of them backing. just another day in the trucking industry.
