How awesome to have your daughter along teaching her An she's not afraid of anything lol. Thanks Aaron. Oh an cool showing the spores in the microscope
When I was that age, my dad took me hunting for chanterelles at the park every summer. Took me a couple decades to realize that I could be learning other mushrooms and going out mushroom hunting all year, with and without my dad.
Thanks for sharing these. I'm across the country but love going out to find different mushrooms. This weekend gave us an abundance of mushrooms including probably the best specimen of a golden reishi that I've ever seen. Keep up the awesome work!
Your daughter's curiosity to the mushrooms is awesome and so natural articulated playing in nature!😄✨💗 I can smell Chanterelles and find a path to them, it's true!!😉😆 I would love to see you make the video of the spore world at micro-level...😃✨💗
More about the ferns, please ;) Your videos are fantastic! Thanks for them. But... Here's what really grinds my gears. You never talk about the ferns! I'm curious about their mycorrhizal relationships with mushrooms and also if the presence of certain types of ferns are good indicators of nearby edible fungi
I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us here. This video was especially touching - not only are you teaching your daughter a skill that will last her entire life, but as someone who raised his daughter hunting and fishing, I can tell you that those daddy-daughter experiences creates a loving trusting bond like no other. Thank you for sharing with us! On another note, I personally would enjoy a video on spore printing - John C
Hi my mushroom friend I love seeing you teach your daughter about mushrooms and the outdoors. Yes I can smell pines in the forest when they're fruiting. I usually search around Mt Hood. Happy shroomin everyone ❤
I’m new to your channel. I have lived in the PNW most of my life and have nearly always wanted to learn about mushrooms. I know the most popular ones, but, I had no idea how many more were edible. I live on the coast now and just learned about the King Boletes. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Your daughter is adorable!
I'll eat the Pluteus cervinus and P. exilus whenever I find them in good condition. They have all been worth the little effort it takes to cook them. And boy o boy, the Chlorophyllum brunneum are great (as are the C. rachodes). In 2020, I had a patch in my yard that fruiting for over a month. So beefy! Hope you get some rain to keep those mushrooms growing!
I've never smelled matsutake but one mushroom I can smell from far away is lactarius indigo! They stink up the whole forest and smell almost exactly like fruit loops or apple jacks
I have been watching you adventures in the woods looking for mushrooms. The work you do is my thing to learn from and the lab work you shared was fascinating too. Thanks so much for all you do...😊
It's good you've gotten rain but it's making me jealous. It's been extremely dry in northern Europe, record breaking dryness. Last year there were golden chantarelles (cantharellus cibarius) fruiting by this time and there were early fruitings of many leccinum species and suillus luteus, which is a popular edible in northern and eastern Europe. If there would've been enough rain the forest would be full of russulas, lactarius and little brown mushrooms, this year I've barely seen any mushrooms at all since may. Anyway, nice video, as always.
Man I love your videos! That scary leaf face in the woods had me howling 😅 I cannot speak for everyone, but would personally love to see a more in-depth version of your identification process. I thought the microscope bits were very interesting. I hope you have a great week - I’m looking forward to the next video!
I just subscribed to your channel after loving your video about fairy rings! I just saw my first ring today, and there were actually 2 of them. I enjoy your content ❤
I think you may have dropped a plastic stick by the Pezizas. and what was that turquoise stick that looked like some litter next to the parasols? What happened to Aliya's left arm? What a cutie pie! Oh yeah....can definitely smell the Matsutakis, but not too far from them. Finally found some a few years ago.
@mushroomwonderland1 wouldn't let me post my own comment. My friends daughter can smell morals I told her I was going to teach her lots of mushrooms and she was going to be my 'shrooming buddy .😅😂❤
We don't really have them here in the PNW, thank goodness. In 43 years of living here I've only seen one in my life that was on a rabbit. My dad lives in the Midwest, I know about the ticks out there, terrible!
I just picked a quart bag of oyster mushrooms today( 6/25/23) in North Central Pennsylvania. Growing on Aspen trees. They'll grow on the tulip trees in the fall.
What a beautiful daughter you have Aaron

The leaf with a face... Yeah, I agree that's scary! lol. that's the way to introduce our future to the forest we will hand off to them. Peace.

Great video! And your daughter is so stinkin’ cute - teaching kids about nature is so much fun!

What do you use to keep the ticks off your dog?
Here in the Midwest they are worse than ever!
We don't really have them here in the PNW, thank goodness. In 43 years of living here I've only seen one in my life that was on a rabbit. My dad lives in the Midwest, I know about the ticks out there, terrible!

Did you take some of the reishi to make tea out of?
I did!
@@mushroomwonderland1they sure were fresh I make tea. Frequently with them
Yes! We like to make hot cocoa, hides the bitterness.
@@mushroomwonderland1 nice I'll have to try that. I steep it with community coffee an sweeten with honey
Awesome would like to try that sometime.
