Just think if Cooper renewed the copyright of the novelization, or there wasn't a novelization to begin with, Kongs rights wouldn't be such a mess.

i believe the artist's name is Alberto Giolitti(sp?). He did the art for Gold Key's Turok Son Of Stone for years in the 60s... i had the large format reprint from the 70s
