Group rides are over since Covid came to town. Thank God ! I used to ride with a group of tuff guy Hardley a Davidson riders where their Ole' Ladies on the back of the bikes would give the signal to roll through the stop signs. Always hated that move. Too dangerous. Plus those broads were "Butter Faced" !
I’m the noob of the group. Didn’t just pass my MSF, did that 10 yrs ago. But I only got my first real ride. Went on my first group ride and they put me in the middle. It was awesome.
I used to ride with a guy that was always low on fuel. He always blamed it on having a small tank. Dude had no less that four gas stations near his house.
So far I've never seen any stunters in a group ride, fortunately. And the noobs are usually in the front, right behind the leader, so that the leader can keep an eye on them and make sure he's not going too fast for the new riders. So the second bike determines the speed of the group. I'm usually in the back, I think the best position is the last position. You can see all riders in front of you and see what they're doing, and you have more variety in speed. If the whole group can't make it in one go across an intersection or a traffic light, then it's good when the fastest riders are in the back, they will catch up easier.
The noob is absolutely spot on. Man, kinda embarrassing getting called out so picture perfectly in a video. Lol. Though it was a 85 virago 700, IIRC. So id had my license for all of a few weeks when my dad decides were going on a ride with a group of churches for a charity thing. I get put in the no2 position, so nobody to watch but the lead. I didnt know how to stagger myself, but i remembered that pictute from the study material I had to read to get my license. So I happily park myself, staggered, all of 2 feet behind the leader. He starts out at like 60, but by the end were ripping 75 everywhere and im loving it. At the end of the ride, I get "talked too" by all the experienced riders who got left behind. Turns out the lead kept speeding up to try and get a gap between us. Lol. But 17 year old me just thought he wanted to go and have fun 🤷♂️
Funny that in the groups I participate here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Noobs are put right behind the leader, mixed with more experienced drivers but always at the first half of the pack. Who dictates the rhythm are 'the noobs in the front' to keep it safe for everybody. What counts in the end of the day is that everyone gets in one piece back home.
Aww, I didn't fit any of them, lol. I'm the fat guy on a chopper that shows up to street bike rides but still somehow keeps up with the front of the pack.

I was the noob for a while, but I almost always ride second behind my stepmom. Now I am the adv guy(2019 Africa twin adventure sports) but I only wear high vis is the summers, and I wear my 1960s leather Harley jacket the rest of the year, also I can’t afford saddle bags so all I have is a tank bag
@@portlandshomlessproblem1728 you have an African twin and don’t have enough money for saddle bags?
@@vebez5993 that is what I said
@@portlandshomlessproblem1728 clearly
I was the noob and the adv guy at the same time...i just like being able to go anywere
I’m the guy who wants the play by play on the route, bathrooms and when we will eat.
Group rides are fun. Just do your thing, you will be fine.
7:14 how fool was I to expect yammie to not troll me
I hope doggie one was real
The best-known theme song on Jeopardy! is "Think!", originally composed by Griffin under the title "A Time for Tony", as a lullaby for his son. "Think!" has always been used for the 30-second period in Final Jeopardy and fine advice for all recipients of Mervifescence.
truth, information, hilarity - what more could you ask for in a list video - good job!
Im new & I was the guy who was saying I can't go that fast because I need my licence. It seemed speed limits were optional in the group I was with.
Nice shout out to the suzi c50t. I love mine. Great content bro. I see your actually on one for this vid. Tip of the cap to you sir.
Spite, this was better than yammie's lists. I love it man
lol its funny seeing people who perfectly match the stereotype trying to explain away their embarrassment.
Hell our sweep/adv guy pulls the dankest wheelies on his FJR with panniers, top box and ol' lady on the back. It funny as hell to look over and see a front wheel 3ft from your face every time we leave anywhere.
Lmao the wheelie guy slowing down for no reason is a great tip. That is my #1 indicator of "This guy is about to do a wheelie."
Dude. THIS IS SO ACCURATE. I GROUP RIDE DAILY. THIS IS SOOOOO FUCKING TRUE. WORD FOR WORD
Gas guy when snowmobiling is even more aggravating. Gas stations are typically a big time consuming detour.
snowmobiling is for losers
19 and just got my first bike. I just want to go out and have some fun, where as it seems almost everyone else my age (my friends) with a bike is just about the speed and thrill. Just not for me so i ride alone for now
I Don't have a bike yet but with my first aid knowledge and love for motorcycles I already know I'll be a sweep
LOL!!!!!! I have not done but one group ride, but look forward to doing some. Thanks for this timely, jocular advice!! 😁
This video pretty much sums up why I ride by myself. 🤣
Every meet up I've been on has been at a gas station for reason 7. My buddy trusts no one not even himself to not be the gas guy.
You guys crack me up! But always good videos
"build an extra motorcycle" HAHAHAHAHAHA LOL - that was awesome
I found that gold as well
This is beautiful, art, I love it!
My favorite youtuber the magic pube, yammie noob
I love enjoy your channel!
I always learn a shit ton.
All hail “the sweep” 🤣
We used to have one guy who on the yearly group ride always had something. One year a broken chain, once out of gas, tanked diesel once, had his toll ticket slide under his windshield once, bald tires…. He was our Dudley. Lol
I'm the noob. Only been riding for 3 years, but there was a groupi rode with a few times and they always put me up front👍. Unless there was a straight stretch they wanted to pull, then i got left behind, but they ALWAYS waited for me to catch up.
only liking so spite can go shopping through the power parts catalog
LOL "ADV DAD", love it. Probably because I'm one of them and found it hilarious!
That hand sign is a must. Everyone should have that guide in his pocket 🤣🤣🤣🤣 .
I ride always with 3 , I, me and my self. I should try to ride alone one of this days.
as one of (bit-smaller) ADV guy, i feel attacked lol.
..also, it's quite funny for me to see rider type #3 frightening expression when i ride in front of them and went through the traffic jam together with 2mm margin error between my metal sidecase and car/truck/flower vase/side mirror/you-name-it... and i ride through it like i don't have those metal sidecases installed.
Love the hand signals chart!! 😆
The busaaaa god
OMG that hand singnals cracked me up so hard i projected my slurpeee all over my monitor !!!! ROFL.
Crazy seeing my favorite road on my favorite bike channel.
Haha I heard you talking about the A1 licensing system. It truly is hell.
I miss yam doing these types of videos
This isnt him either
This clown sucks
The signs are wild 😂 😂, "I have a sword " killed me(yes know what they actually mean)
Another dvantage to meeting up at a filling station is that you can all use the same pump, and only one guy gets hosed by the hose regular, and everybody else can get a full tank of super.
No. 7 is why when we ride in groups (for me it's years ago, hope to get back on the saddle some day), we always start from a gas station.
My Mini (upgraded hugely) RULES the twisties!!!
Me as a cyclist watching these motorcycle videos: satisfying
A group of Adv dad's together can manifest an extra bike almost out of nowhere.
Papa Yam, can you do a video where you show us different styles of riding and where our feet and hands should stay while riding?
Papa?
You don't know where your feet and hands go?
I love you man . I took a screenshot of the signals 😂😂😂...LOTS OF LOVE FROM INDIA 🇮🇳
You are allowed to have a 15 hp bike within the A1 license 😂
Like I have
@8:04 rockin' blundstones/ redbacks !
“Leaders final form” 💀
Watching his not knowing a thing about bikes feels so satisfying for some reason.
The new guy also likes to wheelie all day and might flex on your crew
I always fill up before a ride, the most I've ever got out of my Firestorm/Superhawk is 108 miles before I hit reserve.🤣
i love you yammie noob for real help me with all my motorcycle questions and i dont even have to ask
My entire family rides, going on my first group ride on Sunday with the Harley group my dad rides with on the family starter 250r lol
@7:15 LMAO "I have a sword injury" 😂
Gas gas gas, even when everyone fills up there is still that guy with a 3 gallon tank 🤦 and I’m topping off ever time he stops just to avoid that 1 time I’m out of sequence 😂
A group ride is a ride where everyone is suffering. I don't see the point going.
Yeah especially if it’s boring and restrictive, I want to be able to ride my ride.
Find some people that ride like you and its pretty damn fun. I got guys I wheelie with, guys I cruise with and others that haul ass through the hill country
@@YamahaR12015 Ass hauling in the twisties, that's my thing. I just should find other ass haulers ;-)
@@N0t4v41l4ble most of my guys I met at the track, they don't rise street often but when they do.... oh boy
@@YamahaR12015 I must take my Tuono V4 to the track next summer...
