Absolutely 💯 but remember you're probably safer up there with being a fully qualified red arrows pilot than on the road down here . We don't often hear of many casualties , last one was 4 years back To us the public watching this video looks terrifying to them the pilots with their experience its probably like riding a bike 🚲
Oh my goodness. I’ve never felt patriotic before. Never. But when I saw the red arrows last Sunday at the RAF Valley show I was oozing with pride. 🇬🇧 me and my sister were so inspired by these guys we went to see them fly home and every one of them waved us off as they left the airstrip. I was waving at them and sticking my thumbs up at them and they was waving back and thumbs upping me. So friendly, so blessed and so god damn inspirational.
How could anyone dislike this vid?!?!? Compared to what they're doing?!?! Working in a chippy or quite happily sat behind their laptop in their underpants being jealous? Bonkers. These are the top of the pile. Respect.
In 1971 I corresponded with David Binnie, one of the Red Arrows pilots and I received lots of photographs, stickers and so on. When I became a private pilot, he was very enthusiastic about it. No matter what type of plane it is, he wrote, a Gnat or a Cessna, you are a pilot too! I visited several air force bases to see them fly. Awesome and I will never forget it. I was a shocked to hear that David Binnie passed away. A great Red Arrows pilot, also a 747 captain of Virgin. R.I.P David!
Got to hang out with the blue Angels for a week when I was 11 years old. You got to respect anyone who can fly like this regardless of what team or country.
Tyler Marquez The US Teams have tried copying various of the Red Arrows and killed pilots doing it ... Believe me ... Red Arrows are unique. They are the best - whatever you think. Red Arrows 6ft separation ... ?? Most teams stay at 5m .. that's 15ft ! Don't believe me - then check it out ...
TheDct88 That's the difference, to us its down-right amazing....From their stand-point, its all down to concentration..... Don't ever flinch or think....Just follow the planes....I love the RAF....Proud and love to hear and/or see them in airshows.... I just dread to think whoever we fight against thinks about them xD
This is insane! I remember well when my dad went to an airshow every year when I was a child and I was fascinated by the red arrows but that - I wouldn't even dare to get so close with my car to another one in regular street traffic, let alone when flying at 350kts! o_0
You have to be crazy to believe your statement, the Arrows may not look as flamboyant as other display teams but it is all about the timing and co-ordination of 9 aircraft whilst being unbelievably close! The amount of respect they get from other display teams is unrivalled, I watched a documentary on all the display teams of the world and this air show in Canada where they all performed, everyone admitted these guys (and girl) are the best in the world.
Great video, its amazing just how close these planes fly together in formation at high speed, and how close on coming and crossing planes get as well. Amazing, thanks for the video.
Almost all Airforce got these acrobatic teams. But the Red arrows always been a role-model! I still remember them as a 9 year old in Sweden while they had their show outside Stockholm.
Was lucky enough to see these guys practice from my School occasionally as a kid. I've been hooked on Jets, piloting and avionics ever since. Starting my PPL soon. *Thanks Red Arrows*
Akrotiri RAF base, Cyprus, I used to live there, only camp with the air strip, all summer the red arrows would practice flying above our heads from early morning to about 4:00 in the afternoon
Watching them move about in the wake of each other’s amazing the skill they have to compensate for it and 4:14 mins is so close from a blind side it’s unreal - watch them in avid amazement every year at the Swansea air show/ incredible- best of the best - also saw the Vulcan bomber on its last flight - so proud of these lads 👌🏻🍻
This video is part of one of those Virtual 3D attractions that are located at certain events such as theme parks. The attraction uses a full motion simulator to enhance the viewers experience.
Hes so lucky to fly, ive just returned from RAF Scampton as i was working with the photographers there for a week, its a nice place and i found it surreal walking in the hangar snd seeing the jets parked there and getting to walk arounf them! eveyone on base is so friendly, i knew all the 2012/13 pilots and ground crew anyway, they are such a bunch of nice guys. Im hoping within the next few years to be the official Red Arrows Photographer. its my dream! Im going back on base in febuary :)
This is Cyprus. I was there for 3 years and they used to fly straight over our house in Akrotiri. They trained there a lot so we had a permanent free air show!
I think my first ever memory was seeing the Red Arrows I think in 1971 aged about 4 or 5. We all had some the time off school and we all went down the harbour to watch. I didn’t really have a clue what the Red Arrows were the only thing in my head at the time was an Apollo Rocket I had probably seen on the telly. I will never forget to this day when these Red planes flying low over my head with the roar of the noise when I was expecting a white rocket of sorts.🚀 Completely smitten to this very day.
Man, this is the big machine you sit in that moves around as you watch this? The video your seeing on screen is just a recording of it. You need to go to and airshow and pay to get a shot to sit in the machine (around £5) its amazing!
Raf akrotiri ❤ I remember when I was in school in cy, one of my classmate's dad was a display pilot for the red arrows, our class was invited to the airbase for a private display, best school trip ever 👌👍
Great video even to watch on a Desktop PC. What this must be like in 3D is unimaginable. Skills of these pilots pulling 8G is something else. I can pull a tight corner on my Harley... does that count as training for the Red Arrows? Terrific Video. Thanks for making it and sharing it.... I want more more more...
Last summer, I saw the latest arrow display and don't get me wrong, they were awesome but i've seen the fecce tricolore an hour later and I found for the first time their show more impressive.
I just watched a video of the blue angels from 9 months ago thinking they were good...... this is 10 years ago and still 10 times better than the Thunderbirds and blue angels 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 do more
I met Ben and and the rest of the tem a few months ago on thier coast to coast challange in memory of Jon, was so upset to hear that Sean had died aswell, weeks after talking to him :(
In terms of their matched speed - how is this done? Are they setting a precise speed through a computer like auto-cruise in a car? Or is this purely manual? It seems there are so many variables in a place that could affect one pilots speed more than the other? It's so impressive either way
tl;dr - Its purely manual, but they have an idea of a speed they should be at. From what I know, the team briefs/goes over the flight while on the ground in a room together. Some teams even will walk around the room in formation, mocking the maneuvers they will do in order to make sure everyone is on the same page about where they should be, at which times. They also spend plenty of time practicing in the actual jets, without an official show below them, so they can call 'no-maneuver' or 'knock-it-off' if they get a maneuver incorrect during practice, and will set up for it again. So with all this preparation and practice, certain maneuvers they do, they have and know the range of speed they should be at. For the formations where there is a lead plane of the diamond or delta, the other planes try to stick to and match the speed in which the lead plane sets, but normally, every member/pilot on the team knows what speed which maneuver should be at different times. So if you ever are watching a cockpit video, if you look at the pilot's hand on the throttles, they're usually pushing up on throttle for more power for just a second, then pulling back to ease off power, since the engines usually take a little delay to deliver the power they set, its hard to get it smoothly perfect to where their hands are never moving the throttles. Tiny little adjustments are usually needed to fly as tight as the Red Arrows, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Patriots, Knights, etc.
Holy cow they are close! I didn't know that 25 countries use the hawk, I know that the UK and the US use them, the other countries I can think of is Finland, Switzerland. Can't think of any more.
At the science museum yesterday and paid to see this and also did the Typhoon experience. This isn’t the film was shown yesterday. Kids loved it but unfortunately I found it not exciting and I’m into fast jets!
It's only when you watch this video that you really appreciate how talented these men are. Every move is down to the split second.
Absolutely 💯 but remember you're probably safer up there with being a fully qualified red arrows pilot than on the road down here . We don't often hear of many casualties , last one was 4 years back
To us the public watching this video looks terrifying to them the pilots with their experience its probably like riding a bike 🚲
Men.
And women
No room for a mistake. Watched a display at RAF Marham today. Everyone learns from mistakes, but these guys cannot make mistakes.
Royal air force red arrows have the best planes ever I've seen the Royal air force red arrows
😊

The skill levels of these people is hard to comprehend I think. Extremely amazing 🤯🤯🤯😃

In Poland we have many very good pilots , but ....... Red Arrows are the BEST.
There was never any doubt as to the quality of Polish airmen. We greatly appreciate their help during the Battle of Britain.
You sure? The Red Sparrows are the best.
@@KingOfHearts901 I'm sure they appreciated our help more.

I've seen them in real life and it is stunning how good these guys can fly
WHO AGREES RED ARROWS BEST AEROBATIC TEAM IN THE WORLD
I think they are probably a little better than the blue angels, and I'm American ;)
2nd best, usaf thunderbirds are a first!😀
Tyler Marquez

Tyler Marquez or US Navy Blue Angles, seen them both. Both are great flying teams.
+TheLionheartist Alot better, blue angels use fly-by-wire systems. and the Hawk jets are the size of an f-18 and the red arrows still fly at 6ft apart
from the ground it looks amazing but from this view it looks terrifying

Theyre trained to do that.
I was looking for this comment😂

This is so amazing to watch. You guys are so talented and well trained. Hats off to you all.

I love the red arrows, and nice realistic cockpit video.

I have experienced this at the science museum and it was AMAZING!

Sometimes I am so proud to be British, this is one of those times, thank you all.
Looking forward to experiencing this at the science museum in London when I visit in August!

I am from limassol and I experience them whenever they come for training. these guys are the definition of brilliance.
And for the rest of the year, they're touring the world, but their true home base is RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire (since 2001, anyway) :)
Yeah i grew up watching them thete :)
When seeing them from the ground, they look dead straight. But in this they wobble so much!!! I Dodd my hat to these lads

Simply Breathtaking :-O Thanks for uploading.
A true Blue Angels fan would appreciate these pilots and the skill they display as well as that exhibited by the Angels.
A Blue Angels pilot would appreciate it, a fan would be screaming "Muuurica wooohoooooo!!!!!"
The aircraft are flying very close behind each other. Why aren't wake vortices causing them any problems? At least it seems, they have no problems.
Did this ride at the science museum in London it was awesome!!
Was that Ben Lewis I seen right at the start?! If so, did my engineering training with him! Looks really like him.

I would really love to be an co pilot with one of these pilot. not sure that i should eat a breakfast first though....
Truely amazing flying
This simulation puts you in the best jet to be in.
Also, this isn’t at the science museum it’s at the RoyalAir Force Museum
I used to live on this base in Cyprus. And watch the red arrows train over my house for about a month each year :).
We're gonna need another one of these!
Very few will ever get to fly for the arrows you have to be the best of the best
I wonder how many times a year the #5 pilot says they're standing by.
How does a pilot make fine adjustments to speed? Is there like a course setting and a fine setting?
amazing vid love to feel the experience :)
I Remember going to the beach one day and when we arrived we found out that the was an air show and the red Arrows were flying it was amazing

Is this made for some sort of simulation like in a museum or something?
Josh M yes, it’s in a museum in London. However all footage is filmed on board by GoPro. It’s a real display just filmed this way.
No you cannot simulate this
I could not see in 3D. There are some problem?
