    Fyi. Use a 55 gallon plastic garbage can lid with a hole drilled in the center over your oil drain pan.

    Shooting in the dark hoping to get a reply from someone soon aha. No over heating but highhhhh rev range almost redline getting up to like 25-30 mph and on highway ? Forget about it the fan starts sounding like I’m about to take off the runway. Hits 3k even to start reversing

    I've heard and read that all you need is rtv. Because that's the way it originally comes. That if you use a gasket it's more likely to leak.

    • @ThunderHead289

      Can confirm they originally came with a gasket.

    I have a 2001 4.7 wj the book states 11 litres for a FULL flush as 5L is in the torque converter! But I guess 6L is better than nothing?

  • @shaunjones3584

    • @derekconklin2758
      @derekconklin2758 7 років тому +3

      One should never flush the trans or use additives for the Jeep WJ. Drop the pan, change the filter, add fluid, then wait at least 5k miles before you do it again. Flushing and additives are commercial nonsense -- listen to the manufacturer of the vehicle.

      +ThunderHead289 okay I'm driving it right now maybe I over exaggerated about the 5000 rpm it shifts around 4000 rpm but I noticed it only takes that long to shift when I'm doing highway speed on the streets is shifts like a charm.

    • @ThunderHead289
      @ThunderHead289  8 років тому

      well if you are led footing it onto the interstate than that is perfectly reasonable. lol. id still change your tranny fluid and add stop slip for preventative measures if you plan to run the car till it dies like i do with most all of mine.
