I thought about easing off many times. But since it was a TTT, I had to be the 4th man across the line. So had to keep going. Good motivation for sure!
Absolutely! Kept trying to stay within distance of you guys! So zwift says based on my ftp I should be able to do 321 watts for an hour. (Even though I've never done that lol) I've done 337w for 20 minutes. So I had a target of 330w for the Alpe climb. I did like 330w for the first 3 corners.... then realized I was way overcooking it. Lol. Then just slowly died more and more the rest of the climb. Just tried to stay on Jose's wheel as best as possible. Averaged 307w up the climb so still happy with that. Will need to pace myself better if I want to get close to 35min. up the Alp which is the next goal. (Also slept terribly last night for some reason and only got about 4.5 hours of sleep. Have to come up with some more excuses. Lol. ) you guys crushed it!
@@thecrohnscyclist I decided to give it a shot. First time. 74 minutes, 6mph average. Im pretty sure Im typing this in ghost form, I died somewhere on that mountain haha. Proud to have gotten it done though, I have a baseline to improve from at least.
I've never seen an iTT on the Alpe - finding 4 guys that can all do sub-40 is the first part of the hard work 😂 I just did a solo PR on this right before the end of the year - held 312W for the climb . . . BUT I weigh 79 kg so there's a huge time difference (~9 minutes) when you hold near that same power. Sub-40 minutes is zooming up the Alpe. Super strong effort.
Nice! That's really good too! Anytime anyone does over 300w for that long I think is really good! Yeah I wasn't sure if I'd get it under 40min. Was very happy with the outcome!
Nope. Did D1 tennis is college. Wish I would have started off in cycling early. Only got into it in 2019. Train hard. Do interval workouts, lots of zwift races. Got dropped constantly all the time starting out. But would just try to hang on longer and longer each time. Then moved from C to B category and started over. Then moved from B to A category and would just try to hang on as long as possible. Very strict with my diet and weight. Do 250-300 miles per week. I don't think you need a background in cycling to achieve this. Just be very strict and disciplined with everything now. It helps I'm 167cm tall. I believe zwift favors shorter people a little too much with their aerodynamics algorithm. Also keep my weight right at 61kg.
Is this OG Zwift or are there some mods installed? I havent used Zwift in a while and I never saw a list like on the right, with the data of all the other racers
Great ride, great tunes. Well done!
@@ercmadden Thanks!
Mad, amazing effort. You looked like you were done quite early and just kept on going.

@@thecrohnscyclistImpressive endurance for sure
Glad we were able to push you to a new PR. I had a feeling you had started out a bit too fast hahaha

GREAT EFFORT!!! For the downhill put the trainer difficulty to 100% (!!!).... makes you faster!
Thanks! I'll have to try that!
Great finish. Under 40 is quite the accomplishment
Thanks! It definitely hurt a lot!

👍👍💪💪🔥🔥
Is Your weigth is only 60kg?
I did 334w at 76kilo. My time was 45:19
I need to push 380watts + to make sub 40😅
Yep. I keep it right between 61-62kilos. Have a pretty strict diet with hardly any fat in the diet.
That is still really good! Nice!
Steering and cutting corners result in less distance traveled,
It does but also getting out of the draft on the descent by doing that I think was hurting us more than it was helping. Hmmm

Oh I just saw the "sauce for zwift" in the top corner, that must be the mod
Yep! Just about to say it's sauce for zwift.
