Hi Adam! Wow, I’m really impressed with Coblentz Builders. THAT’S how you build a pole barn! No worries about pole rot with those poles and they are framing it to make it easy to insulate and finish the interior. Thanks for sharing!
Looking great. The company that installed my pole barn also used the cement cookie in the bottom of the hole. Going to be a nice addition to the house when finished. Looking forward to seeing the build. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
It’s always nice to see someone else working and to see their quality of work and go “Oh, they’re doing a really good job.” It’s especially true when you have the experience and know what to look for. Doug will be pleased haha 🤣. The new garage is going to be awesome!
Know how you can tell your not in California? Your garage is getting built already. Here in California, you'd still be 8-10 months out from from breaking ground with all the hoops and nonsense you'd have to deal with. Glad to see your upgrade coming along and going up so quickly. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Interesting to see how advantages it is having those posts offset on the forks. As a Forklift driver wee were always taught to keep the load centered. cool idea!
Sooooo exciting. My hubby is a retired residential contractor, & it was always so rewarding to watch a home getting built. It takes a lot of planning to get to where you're at, so this is a happy day!! Your guys look like they've done this a few times 😉👍 Congratulations, Adam!! Your little boy is adorable 🥰 God bless you and your family 💕
Hi Adam. Really enjoying the build and watching your homestead and channel grow. You guys have such a great view there and will be able to enjoy it even more!
Adam another stellar video. I love the all around style of your videos. I came for the firewood and you got me hooked on the family stuff and the fun projects you have. I cant forget neighbor doug either. That guys a treat
I love the auger. That was not an option for my pole barn here in New Hampshire. They don't call it the Granite State for nothing. 21 holes with a Kioti Backhoe. Nicely done Adam. Keep up the great videos. Todd at granitestatewoods.
This is fantastic, I've never saw a building constructed in this way. Coming from Ireland all our buildings are constructed from brick or concrete block. This is such a fast way to do things. Good luck with the build .
Pat, I hope that you know… when you made the comment to Adam about adding your mudroom between the garage and house, you changed the direction of his garage addition plan. I drew up the concept and it grew into the mudroom with a front patio and also a new entry. We are grateful for viewers who offer inspiring ideas. Thank you for planting the seed!
@@AdamsMom921 that’s great to hear! I’m glad that I was able to help out! I really enjoy watching Adam’s channel. He does such great videos. Tell him we say Hi from WV and to keep up the great work.
ADAM, you keep watching OWTM videos, yinz'll surpass Mike! Seeing your garage go up, looks like a real good fit to your channel and family! Your investment will really pay off! Good stuff!!!
So the old back door is next to the new front door and the old front door is next to the new back door. The new back door is on the front side of the house but it is the back door because you don’t use it as the main entrance and the new front door is on the back of the house and it is now the front door because it is the main entrance. It might have been easier just to turn the house around so the door names matched. No wait, the back of the house would still be the back of the house no matter what door was on that side. So yea, it all make sense….🤪😜😆😆😆
Awesome. Really looking good. Thank you for all the why's & why not's. Very informative. I learned something. A note on your editing - can you lower the volume on the music? Maybe it's just me, but I find myself struggling to hear the talking when the music is just right. OMG... Did you hear that? I must be getting old. Augh.
Nice! Quick question about the two perma columns that are set directly against the house. I noticed that they're not in the ground as deep as the other ones. Is that because they're set directly on top of the footer for the house's foundation? They have to be in order to get that close to the house, right?
Looking great Adam. So you folks don’t use concrete out there in your post holes, or was it just not clear? I have built both ways, but prefer a little concrete for load bearing stuff. Probably over kill on my part. Cheers.
Lol at the end i hear your phone alarm going off … same ring tone i got haha How are local town codes and permits for this? Any variance needed ? New York is such a pain
So I noticed you’re using the yellow corrugated steel piping for your gas line doesn’t have to be shielded from the ground meaning put inside another pipe?
The building will heave when the ground freezes being that the perimeter base board is contacting the ground. The only way to prevent frost heave is to bury polystyrene insulation board along the perimeter of the building.
There is a big difference in the two ways the walls are framed. The new garage is not built properly for structural weight. The perlins are not meant to be put in that way. The first garage is done properly for strength.
So many OSHA violations… I see two big problems… one is I hope they are bonded and insured so any injury doesn’t put a claim on your homeowners insurance and two, everything is recorded for OSHA to use as evidence in support of fines and penalties. I’m one of those H&S professionals and I made a point to correct the issues before photographing the site. Let’s hope that it all works out for everyone.
Yep they need to add in the cost of renting a jlg lift on their bids. He said they’re young, doesn’t mean their bulletproof. A fall from that height could cripple that boy for life or kill him.
I would remove their name from your video if I were you. A number of OSHA safety violations were evident, standing in the bucket, working above 6" without a harness, etc. You would do them a favor if you masked their name and removed the endorsement. They look like they are doing a great job and are not taking any unnecessary risks. OSHA can be a pain in the rear.

Did they do anything to compact it into the ground so it doesn’t settle?
Greg, I wondered about that as well.

I love the git'er done construction going on, screw OSSHA.
That building is going to be super sweet.
As I was watching I kept thinking how many times H&S violations would have shut the job down in Ontario.
Good Morning from Ontario
Looking mighty fine...
Keep the videos coming...

The only thing missing from this video was a Neighbor Doug sighting...☺️...great video regardless Adam!
I've been seeing more and more pole barn construction using the pole protectors to prevent rot. Worth the investment.
Looking great ! Looking forward to more of the build .

Man, how exciting! Good stuff Adam
Nice video! Exciting to see it take shape!
Cool to see the precast perma columns. Never have seen them used before.
Man, that mud room is going to be so nice. This is the time of year when a guy really wishes he had one!
Those guys are fast, I'm impressed and going to be a well-built garage.
Looks very nice Adam
Keep it coming Adam. Always enjoy your content.
Coblentz build my cousins garage and a buddy of mine. they did great work on both of them.
We are very pleased so far

The pond looks pretty good from what I saw in your video.
Fantastic video and editing. Great combination of drone and fast forward. Reminds me of Mike Morgans construction videos. Love it.
Awesome video, can’t wait to see more! Beautiful view overlooking the pond
Looking good Adam! I really like that new post design! 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad to see no one got hurt - not a good idea to stand on a Bobcat bucket while it's moving kids.
Congrats on the build . . . very nice!
I like the concrete posts to get out of the ground
looking good....great content. Can't wait to see the rest of the build
Looking good. Exciting times!
Good stuff Adam looking forward to seeing the final project. Nebraska WoodSTR
Yeah a great productive day
Very nice. Work ethic always shows! A little more on the “footer.” You talked about the galvanized cover on the posts…

Super cool video
That's a big start for day one, even though they were held back because of the gas line.

What a crew. What did they put around the post in the hole to hold up the post. Missed that. Thanks
Quick question that wood base all a round the bottom is treated wood correct? Since it contacts the ground?
Correct
Looking good Adam are the post 4x4 or 6x6?
Awesome.....Very Impressive.... Nice.....

yep.....that about sums it up🤣👍
Yeah I still don’t understand why this is so confusing. It’s pretty self explanatory 🤣lol
Easiest way to settle all that confusion?........just paint all the doors a different color!! Lol
Clear as mud if you ask me… what’s the problem?
Hows the pond doing?
So those permacast bases are just set with dirt, and not concreted in?
My thoughts exactly. Surprised they didn't cast them in.
Glad you made this comment. Thought I missed that during time fast forward.
Not ranking.
Hello to you folks
Awesome. Really looking good. Thank you for all the why's & why not's. Very informative. I learned something.
A note on your editing - can you lower the volume on the music? Maybe it's just me, but I find myself struggling to hear the talking when the music is just right.
OMG... Did you hear that? I must be getting old. Augh.
Is it possible to build like...a small maybe 600sqft pole barn home, then add on additions as you get money?
Looks good.
The concrete bottoms on the posts are slick; never saw that before.
What year was your existing house built?
Thanks!!
1992
You should offer to sharpen their chainsaw. LOL
It looked like it was spitting dust & not chips.
Nice!

How much was this building ?
?
So I noticed you’re using the yellow corrugated steel piping for your gas line doesn’t have to be shielded from the ground meaning put inside another pipe?
You should use the Diagram of the new Garage as an "Exit Thumbnail" durring the Construction process.
What are those pole type called. Very cool.
The building will heave when the ground freezes being that the perimeter base board is contacting the ground. The only way to prevent frost heave is to bury polystyrene insulation board along the perimeter of the building.
We’re putting in radiant infloor heating
How big of a addition is it going to be total and how big is the actual garage part going to be, so far looking good 👍 it looks nice size, take care
30x46 total. The garage will be 30x30. The mud room and porches will be 16ft wide
There is a big difference in the two ways the walls are framed. The new garage is not built properly for structural weight. The perlins are not meant to be put in that way. The first garage is done properly for strength.
What coating is on bottom of the poles going into the ground?
OSHA....never heard of her!
When and where are you moving the electrical mast?
Same spot as the gas. They have to be 3 feet apart. Electric line will go in the same ditch 1 foot above the gas line
Sweet
Where was Doug? Did you give him the day off?
@george Anderson lol, I was there, just no appearances in this one. I like to watch construction so I stop over daily to see how it is going.
Health &safety professionals would have a heart attack seeing how these people work, but then H&S is most of the time so over the top risk adverse.
My landlord built a hole digger with the assembly from a forklift truck and he can dig 20 ft down.
That crew - Scaffolding? We don't need no scaffolding.
Instant job Dismissal Riding/Working from a Bucket !
Man i know its perfectly fine construction technique with the wood in the ground but living here in the northeast it goes against all my instincts
there is concrete at the bottom of the posts, no wood touches the ground
What are the dimensions of the building ?
30x46
