The Essex Terminal Railway 102 in the original colour scheme @2:30 mark. This is the only film footage that I have seen of that locomotive. Such a classic Railway company!
    Thank you for posting this.

~~I remember the tower on Walker Rd. when we walked to Gramma's house up Ypres from Bernard Rd. to George Ave and I would look at that tower in wonderment every time we went. My grandfather built the house on 2417 George, still there . He was from Liverpool, England near where the Beatles grew up. Great memories. Thanks for sharing. I still look for that tower, I don't think is still there. haha

Guy, the location at 4:38 is likely the northeast corner of Dougall and Cabana, near where Masters Cleaners currently stands. I remember a sign like that still being there in the late 70s / early 80s. My father confirms a sign like this was there circa the mid-50s when he would take the bus back home after golfing at Roseland. And Michael, great job with these videos.

now that I think about that... I remeber that sign in the 1970s and even possibly 1980s on the north east corner back for the South Windsor Development Company... too bad the camera did not pan to the right... LOL

Very nice. I didn't even realize the sounds where dubbed until we got to the planes which had piston engine sounds on turbo props.

Hi Michael, great video. Hip mid 50s Windsor. I like the factory shots and of course the Detroit skyline of that time.

Anyone know at 3:39 what location that may have been in Sandwich West Township or the land being advertised on the billboard?

My grandpa had a cottage in Colchester Ontario on Lake Erie from 1945 to 1978. Do any older folks on here remember how the lights in Ontario had a flicker in them up until 1950? My grandpa (who was an electrical Engineer at Detroit Edison) mentioned that the Ontario Hydro (now Hydro One) electric grid functioned at 25 hertz until about 1950 when hydro upgraded its system to 60 hertz . I was 12 years old when grandpa sold his place near Colchester.

Yes, that was true. In St. Clair Beach (Tecumseh Public Utilities), the system was also 25 Hz for a time after our family home was built there in 1958.

Not to be a boomer but... Interesting bit about the residential scenes is how many kids are outside playing.

Windsor does not seem to be going anywhere. Highest unemployment in Canada for years, while Detroit is booming.
