What kind of voodoo plug is that my friend looks weird.
You all probably dont care at all but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Titus Elias Instablaster ;)
@Zev Sergio thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Zev Sergio It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out !
As a matter of fact, I've already taken a picture of my old desk lamp. I even sent it to the Pinterest board app for merely everyone to see what it looked like. 👀 🔦
What I love about these videos is that its clear English is probably not your first language and your jokes are spot on! I've watched several now and they are great!!!
Jama Brown Most definitely not his first language, but that’s ok.
I’m amazed at your ability. That lamp is my age, I wish I could be rewired so easily. Lol
thank you so much Jackie😊
BRAVO !
merci beaucoup 😊
I like the slo motion when illuminating the lamp. Very dramatic and appropriate. 😊👍
Another beautiful renovation, I like the color, good work of a friend!
Nice to preserve the good old stamp and date, also the color is extreme good.
Nice paint job.👍😎 I'm glad you wrote the date you restored it on the inside.
"That's what she said", haha good one :-)
First i thought, a lamp and a 18min video? After watching it, i have to say it's worth every second. You made a proper job restoring it! I really like the paint job, the metallic colour looks amazing and the contrast with the white is perfect. Attention to detail from A to Z, good job TysyTube.
thank you so much 😊 my mechanics
@@TysyTube btw, the only thing i would made different: i would write "my mechanics" instead of "TysyTube" ;-)
🤣🤣🍺🍺🍺
Looks cool man
thank you so much i appreciate
Sou do Brasil .
"That's what she said"...I lost it! Thank you for the great videos.
Excellent job. The lamp looks great, though the Bayonette socket should have been replaced, with a modern E14 one 😊
Beautiful attention to detail and history, love that you left the original markings inside! The paint is brilliant!
Very nice job! I would have changed the fitting to a regular E21 size to make a LED filament lamp possible.
That switch looked much better than the original
thank you so much 😊
You did everything perfectly. It is right that you did not paint the weight, even the right cable. :-)
Beautiful lamp.
ps: Oh yes! Need to glue a thin felt on the bottom.
nice restoration. love that there weren't too many changes and that you kept the date.
I want that lamp now send Canada Saskatchewan ASAP lol
I don't know why? But I like it! Well done
Good job! That is a good looking lamp! I have two floor lamps I have been waiting to restore, may have to get busy myself. Came from a early 60s doctor office. They swivel, pivot and have an inner shade/reflector to adjust the light for exams.
Two things:
1) Please use crimp connectors for the cables. It is much safer and faster!
2) Add safety ground to your electrical appliances with metal housings. In this case the lamp even has a metal switch. Especially if you don't want to use crimp connectors!
Parabéns cará
Master of restoration!

A a collector this lamp was worth more simply cleaned up.
Awesome job, your hand from right place)
thank you so much , i realize that after finished installing all parts🤣🤣🤣

I honestly wasn't gonna do it, but if we're making Steve Carell references.... I love lamp.
Pixar will like this video. Excellent job, thanks for sharing.
Realy Nice lamp, Beautiful work!
thank you so much 😊
This is like Primitive Technology but instead of Primitive it’s just Old Technology
very nice! ... and I forgive you for not painting the lip on the foot of the lamp white as well ;)
No she liked it was well used and broken! Lol excellent restoration !
Love the color! Really beautiful job!
Nice. Good job.
I like the color you picked!
There was an old American TV show called Fantasy Island. At the beginning of each episode a little guy named Tatoo would yell "De plane, de plane". I do the same thing every time I hear a plane in your videos! LOL

Nice work!
Love what you did with the lamp, looks great!

Schöne lampe und gut restauriert.

It turned out beautiful, however I'm quite sad you painted it and removed the beautiful patina.
Great Job :-)

I really like your videos.

Great work

hey, i happen to like the vintage green thank you very much

First: Very nice lamp you chose, good job on restoration. What I didn't see at first: You were not the first one to modify the lamp. The "on/off" switch was already missing on the lamp, instead it was put to the power cord. Good you brought it back like it used to be. Your switch installation looked dodgy when you started cutting the cord but went fine. You could've gotten bonus points by labeling "AN / AUS" instead of "ON / OFF". I'm not quite fine with the colour, and I guess you're feeling so too. It's too blue, the original was more green. I completely lost it when you signed your work with the marker. Good lord! Days and weeks of fine art and you choose a marker the size of Missouri to sign it? What the actual heck? Anyway... your work, your signage, well done, I like it a lot.
Lovely job. I love the colour. I'm glad you kept the date stamps. Just adds some age and history to it. Even the simple switch is a thing of mid-century beauty. Did you consider placing some little rubber feet or felt on the base?
thank you so much, i have searched too put something on the bottom but i didn’t find anything
your video presentation is superb ..... Subscribed
thank you so much for your support 😊👍
Put an LED light in there, and you won't need the H.R. paint. ;-)
Nice ❤️
Hold up, did a Romanian dude just "That's what she said" me?... I don't know how to feel about that. Great work either way! My only criticism is to put a crimp end on the wires in the switch instead of solder. Makes a more solid connection that can be fixed later on.
Cool🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
Nicely done!
thank you so much 😊

Need to use LEDs bulbs now. So much less electricity/current used for the same luminous...
Looks like my lamp is up for resto, my turn.
Great video. Too bad you did not make it the green !
Great channel, great videos! Love your restorations.
It seems as if the "original" cable - the golden one - wasn't the original one. I'm no electrician, but wouldn't a ground wire be better with a metal chassis?
Keep those videos coming!
Best,
Dan
where i connect the ground wire?
@@TysyTube The ground wire should connect to the lamp's metallic (= conductive) exterior. The idea is that if a live wire gets dislodged and touches the exterior metal somewhere inside the lamp, a breaker or GFCI/RCD (= safety gadgets in the wiring in your home) will instantly cut off the power before you get a (potentially fatal) chock from it.
This is extremely DANGEROUS as it has a plug which goes to earthed wall socket. There are no double insulations and the stress releaf is missing. Knot is not a stress releaf. If you are in Europe, please change the plug to a round class 0 plug which is not possible to insert in an earthed wall socket.
@5:44 Aluminium is a metal too ;)
Génial ! 😎
Ok, nice job but two things i think you could have done better... first the switch... you should have used one with a German label saying "ein & aus" instead of "on & off". Second you could have added a ground wire to meet modern safety standards.
well done
thank you so much 😊

Love your videos. But it would be nice if you could do a little bit of talking.
thank you so much 😊
You should have kept the original cable and plug
Great job on your subscriber count🎉. Also video very nice as always.
thank you so much 😊
Niceeeeeeee
I was gonna ask before watching the whole video about heat resistant paints. I have an old Luxo lamp that I've been meaning to take apart and repaint. I painted it before, but did a horrible job at it. I didn't even strip off the original paint. Although at the time that was because I didn't have the tools or facilities to do so. I want to take the whole thing apart and recreate it, making a few more lamps of similar size for use in the workshop I'll have when I move. Back to my first sentence, the lamp tends to get really hot when left on for a long time. The paint seems able to handle it, but the whole top section gets fairly hot. Would using a certain paint help fix this issue? or maybe using a different type of bulb?
G4mmaLotus Chechnout the paint he used at around 7:50 heat resistant

what is aluminum if not a metal 🤔
I come from Germany. And inside is the FIRST Date of manufacture and the SECOND Date was for repair or checking. In Germany you can give this Lamp to the Manufacturer and there check it for you. Therefore the second stamp inside!
And the rounded stamp "GEPRÜFT" (checked); At that time you were allowed to sell electronic devices only if this stamp was inside. In Germany today it is the CE mark or TÜV mark that a device has been correspondingly tested for safety in use.
thank you so much for all explanation 😊👍
No problem:)
German designs are as reliable as an AK47
@Thick Box The CE mark is NOT for testing. The manufacturer can mark the products with the CE mark if the product meets all regulations which are required in the european community.
and in germany we say: "Der Schutzleiter muss bei Metallischen-Gehäusen stets vorhanden sein sonst könnte es ungemütlich werden." :-)
I think it's awesome that you left the date. Right up to the point where you said you were going to leave it I was talking to the screen saying "please don't paint over the date".
Beautiful lamp, and great job of restoration. I was stationed in Augsburg Germany with the US Army, 11th Airborne Division in 1957. I was 19 years old at the time.My how times flies. Thanks for sharing this great video and bringing back some good memories. Ken, Marina CA USA
Was in Landsberg, in the general area in 70's with a US Army artillery detachment on a German base...beautiful place...
It sounds silly, but whenever I need to calm down I watch these videos. They're very soothing to me, with a touch of humor. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
It doesn't sound silly at all to me. I've started binge watching this channel and a few other restoration channels when I need to either relax or if I need to distract my brain from a pain episode. With the exception of the grinding, it's all quite soothing. So, no. Not silly to me at all
Excellent Job! Beautiful lamp!
Buy a piece pf felt and replace that on the bottom
I have adhesive backed felt, open and closed cell foam from .5 mil to 5 mil. I think I'd add a lead plate, the original gooseneck tends to move the base.
@@jonanderson5137 the base on this thing looks plenty sturdy
Also you should of tied the power cord inside the base as strain relief, so people can't pull it out and put pressure on the internal connections.
Great looking restoration otherwise.
don’t worry have a special retainer for the cable check the video
@@TysyTube regardless, it's a good practice. That bushing is more to prevent fraying then strain relief.
Another excellent restoration job, thank you. I have two comments that may be important, however. First, the inside surface of the reflector dome should be a matte finish, not glossy. This helps diffuse the reflected light and makes it much softer. While gloss white still works, matte (flat) white provides a nicer effect. I think that the original paint was matte, from what I can see in the video. Also, a knot should have been tied in the electrical cord before leaving the base. This will prevent the cord from possibly being pulled out of the connection to the switch. Even though the cord was soldered to the switch, it could still be ripped from it, with enough force. If this were to happen while the lamp is plugged in, the results could be bad, given that the lamp base is made of metal. Other than that, this is truly a nice piece.
He did knot the cord
@@angelcoe6081 Oh, okay, I must have missed that. Thank you for correcting me. I apologize for my error.
Gorgeous! Thank you for your efforts in these videos. My son and I love to watch them together... You are very inspiring!
My favorite part is that you brought back the on/off switch. I guess at some point someone rewired it to have the clicker. Your replacement fits perfect
I didn’t think this one needed repainting- just cleaning and replacing the broken plug. I might have replaced the light bulb socket, too, just for kicks.
I’m disappointed you didn’t keep that strange green color. That color just shouts “1950s!”
With its age it is likely that it was a lead based paint.
But it would have been nice to seen a close color match with the new paint
Matthew Fairbrother: Old lead paint is much less dangerous in place than it is when you sand it off or otherwise remove it- thereby turning into toxic dust or (if you use a solvent) toxic liquid waste. If lead paint is peeling badly, though, it shout be removed so children or animals won’t eat the paint chips.
@@censusgary i agree that it can be less dangerous when whole, but its not just the peeling, scratches (which this had) can cause just as much lead to be released/exposed. And its not just toxic to kids.
Using a wet removal method as TYSY did is the safest method, as less dust is able to go free in the air. Add a good respirator and common sense. And removal is the best option.
I know this due to having looked at my options for restoring my grandfather's old Lathe, same color too.
Sadly i was unable to get a good color match with a suitable replacement paint.
Although i admit, lead is just speculation with regards to thie lamp
I love the new paint job. It's fantastic, and is definitely 1950's.
the new paint is pretty 1950's also, reminds me of my blood printer from around that erra
