- This is a railroad documentary video on The Story of Southern Pacific 9362 |SD45T-2|. This locomotive has had a very interesting history as it has been in service for almost 50 years as it was originally built for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1975. It is currently being used on the Arkansas Oklahoma Railroad. SP 9362 has had three SP paint jobs, which included SP's Kodachrome, and Speed Lettering. This locomotives paint job is in great shape for its age as its still sports "SP" on its nose and the speed lettering on its sides. Thats very unique for a locomotive that has been passed around so many times. Enjoy the history of this locomotive and make sure to comment what other locomotives you would like to see featured! It’s amazing how it’s still going usually they get forgotten
But this one still keeps on going
I hope this SD45 can get into preservation in a museum. A lot of these old fallen flag locos owned by leasing companys end up getting scraped unfortunately.

I'm so glad I found your page I know there a lot of D&RGW and SP stuff on you tube, but I love the way you get right in the heart of these two Great railroads. Looking forward to seeing more Please keep it up. From what I have watch it seems you have about the same opinion of up as I do, I remember reading the articles about up taking over SP and how up said they wanted to shut down the Moffat Route because they didn't believe in Mid Train or Rear Pushers yet I see them (Unfortunately) going through here (Las Vegas) with mid train and rear pushers all the time I guess some of the SP and Rio Grande blood contaminated the up. Keep up the Great Work.

At least it missed the yellow decal patch renumbering UP did on all the SD-40’s when the new SD-70m units started arriving.
She sure is a classic. Hopefully she gets preserved at some point

Interesting video on the chronological photographic history of a locomotive. Hundreds of first and 2nd. generation diesels were never photographed, and are forever lost. With the Feds crackdown on early diesels, many are being mandated for scrapping, especially in California, so best get those remaining recorded now .

@@AllThingsRailroadI wish I could say no it wasn’t getting repainted but it is I’m upset about that it hasn’t been yet because the A-OK is repainting some old atsf engines right now then it’ll get repainted
