People have said it already but the original is from 87 accapella, this version is from 1990.She didn't do this remix, these guys in Britain (DNA) did and instead of suing she released it officially and it became an iconic hit.
Yeah, this is Suzanne Vega's remake of the piece. I prefer the a cappella original, but she said she likes this remake better. It's her song, but I'm going to keep listening to that first version. It has a very different feel. Suzanne Vega has some terrific songs. "Luka" was probably the most popular--a song about an abused child. My favorite is "Solitude Standing." I also love "Caramel."
@@inkoinfinity2 Didn't they come to some sort or royalty or licensing deal about it? My only point was to point out that while it was her singing, it wasn''t the original version. It's clear I wasn't clear.
OMG what an amazing reaction. Suzanne Vega is sooo underrated. Thx for giving her the attention she deserves. I always tend to like the version done by the original writer/producer better than the covers.

Not the original. The first one was a cappella

It's not Suzanne's remake, dna did it without her knowledge and she liked it so much she released it.

You should do My Name is Luka. It is sad but such a great song. You'd appreciate it.
So, just like that, no more Lovebites. You discarded those who gave you the most visits. Well thought...
Good point! I feel unworthy of Lovebites, but I need to get over it!!
Don't pause it but talk all the way through/over it.
Not hip hop, pure 80’s pop. Such an ear worm.
This version came out in 1990
It was on the R and B FM radio stations and club hit. The bass line is FIRE.😎
