Hi @@andilemafisa3373 if you're referring to when you boil the milk then I wouldn't add much ground cinnamon. Just a dash. It would be better to use the sticks but if you dont have them on hand. You can definitely improvise by adding a dash of cinnamon to the milk.
This is the best milk tart recipe on the net. Very traditional. The explanations and instructions are so clear. The quantity of ingredients are perfect. The end result is divine. I've been making this over and over again...... Thank u so much. So simple and tasty tart. ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I know I'm 4 years late but this recipe is serious KEEPER. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used vanilla extract as I didn't have paste. WOW....JUST WOW!! Velvety smooth filling and a delicious crisp base. I found the pastry was enough for 2 bases (I like it then) but the filling was enough for one, so next time I will halve the pastry. Thank you.
hehe Thank you Colleen 😃. I usually double the filling ingredients and get more bang for my buck😅. I get a full sized milk tart and then a smaller one too!
Hi Kiarah I looked at your video again and I'm making the tart tonight. I made one before from another video . It tasted okay but not silky like yours. Yours is absolutely much better because you sifted the flour. Thanks for sharing
Not a problem il definitely make it again as its Devine and this time il not make adjustments, but did you make out where I went wrong, why did I get toooooo thick crust , is it only because I reduced butter or is it both butter and tray , did i use wrong size & should I go for my bigger glass Pyrex square tray, which holds over 2litres water under 3litres water
Yes Kiarah I just finished making the milk tart. Very happy with the result. Your method is great, much much better than Gaithree Devi Luchan. I'm visiting my son & his family tomorrow so I'll bring the tart along. My daughter in law is a South African
Thanks for this recipe, I’ve been craving milk-tart so bad and they don’t sell it in anywhere in the states🇺🇸. Just made it and tastes so good, just like home 🇿🇦
I got 1 each round springform pans 24cm 26cm 28cm an i also got 2 glass square pyrex trays i dont know sizes but i know big tray holds over 2 litres water under 3 litres water an i know small tray holds over 1 litre water under 2 litre water but im not sure if its better to use glass big or best to use biggest springform pan an bake time i also need to know so shall i give recipe?
I like the way you scrape every last bit of the mixture i hate to see the wasteful way some chef's leave a lot in the bowl looks yummy I'm going to try this recipe cheers mo
An also I got 2 square glass pyrex tray/ dish , I don't know sizes but I know the big tray holds over 2litres water under 3litre water an small tray holds over 1litre water under 2litres water so its better to use big or small tray
Im soooooo sorry for troubling u again but i want to make again but i want thick base but not toooooo thick so shall i use big pyrex dish ? I don't want again toooooooooo thick base therefore asking if my big tray that size i told u about is it a good choice?

Glad youPut it in parchment paper and roll it out/break the dough in half and press down into tart tin. Did you watch full video? I give the tips there x. Can you recall if you followed it step by step? I hope this helps for next time. 🙌
Hi! Have you added the correct amount of flour? It does form a slightly crumbly texture but it shouldn’t be so crumbly and dry that when you use your hand to work it together it doesn’t form a dough. Let me know 😌
Actually i like crispy milk tart but not toooo crispy and i like hard milk tart but not tooooo hard an i thick base but not toooooo thick , an then i started recipe and then i was battling to form dough an so i added oil and then it was fine, other than that , i never made any other adjustments an I never knew dough is supposed to be as flat / thin as possible so i did wat i thought an bake an then wen it was done i saw base was sooooooo thick an also i never broke dough in half an i never lined , i just greased and also i used my glass square Pyrex tray/ dish that holds over 1litre water under 2litres water , so next time should i use big glass Pyrex tray?
Hi hope you well? An im hoping u can guide me, i wanted to give u a choc cake its not yours an its not youtube also, an i asked tooooo many people but no1 helped me, i need to know if il double recipe using 1× 28cm round springform pan? I did make before an its soooooo devine and its sooooo light an is tooooo fluffy an it rise toooo well but its sooooooo small cake i wanted a large cake not tooooooo large but large , can i forward u recipe?
Hello, you’re recipe looks so good!! I was wondering if you can leave out cinnamon sticks and cornstarch? I only have cinnamon but I really want mine to turn out like yours lol also you look so young! Congrats haha
Hahaha thanks so much, I will take that as a compliment😁. I would not recommend leaving out the cornstarch as this flour helps the mixture to thicken up so that it can be the perfect consistency for pouring into the base. Or it will be like pouring liquid milk into the base which would make the base soggy 😢. If you really must then I think you could get away without using stick cinnamon whilst boiling the milk. Just dont skimp on the grounded cinnamon for the top! Good luck🙌🏽
Kiarah Hondy It is no problem, haha yes do so. Thank you I got cornstarch now do I will do my best been waiting to make this recipe for so many years I just forgot along the way and found this hard to do lol I know right... Thank you so much tho and all the best for 2020; suscribed!
Hi Kelly, I have never tried that but i cant imagine it would taste great or compliment the flavours in a milk tart. I think it would clash with the warmth of the cinnamon in this case, instead of compliment it. But if you do add ginger powder please do let me know if my theory is incorrect! :)
To avoid the skin forming, place a sheet of cling film on top of the mixture making sure there's no air bubbles. Press it down and around the sides. This goes for custard and white sauce as well
Actually i had toooooo much trouble to form/ knead dough , other than that i used same measurements only i changed the butter , i used ( half) , i mean i used 60g butter, other than that i used same
Do you prefer eating your milk tart with a cup of tea or a glass of fresh milk?
Tea👍with no sugar, little milk, and a large slice of milk tart
