The serves at 11:58, 12:06, and 12:12 are prime examples of how good her serve is and is the exact reasons why it furiates me when Venus always choose to serve flat to the middle of the box!! She has a nice kick serve that can really move away from the opponent getting her free points to help energy conservation..
I agree except those are all slice serves not kickers. Venus never really had a kick serve, although with her new service motion she started in 2020, she hits more kickers than she used to…she changed a lot of her groundstroke and serve technique over the years, but most noticeably during when the tour was shut down during the covid lockdowns. I thought it was strange to make big changes towards the end of one’s career, but it shows how passionate she is about the game and trying to improve. Hope she keeps playing for a little while longer. I don’t think anyone is ready for the Williams sisters era to end. They are such legendary champions. Regardless of her ranking, she will always have that aura about her.

(the flat serve in the middle) and I dare speculate that this her "power change up" harkening back to the days when Venus would just serve a big call right at you and it was also a taunt. The problem with that is the fact that if you dont nail the flat body serve a big hitter will just have batting practice.
