Nice truck i have a 1976 f600 dump truck best work truck I call it my Heavy Hauler I have ran some of the biggest loads with her I haul a little bit of everything sand top soil gravel fire wood logging asphalt My Dad Runs a Asphalt company in Tennessee and I do most of the hauling for the small jobs a lot of the driver's that run newer Dump Trucks look at me like I'm crazy and some of them love the old f600 and happy to see her still running with the best of them
That is a nice old truck i live in missouri and i was out earlier and went up town to pay a bill and at the old tire shop there were probably six old grain trucks getting tires fixed i live in small town called clinton i kinda neat when the harvest gets going you see all the different old trucks hauling there loads in
Nice video Jake, You guys sure have some beautifully maintained equipment. Shows you take a lot of pride in what you do. I wouldn't change a thing on that grain truck, she's a real survivor. Take care and will see you next post.
Jake that 600 sounds good, I could tell you had her loaded, you are lucky to have a elevator so close to home, back when I was cropping had to haul 40 or so miles sometimes be midnight getting home.
What amazed me on this one was that I saw two other cars! That's like gridlock where you are, isn't it? :-) Thanks for the ride in the 600! Always a pleasure to see the fields, the farms, the elevator. Nice and peaceful. Jeff
defuse56 When he came to the T and turned left, going to the elevator, that road is fairly busy, especially during morning and evening rush 'hours.' The asphalt 2 lane there at the elevator is generally pretty busy too. Timing was good on Jake's part, not to have more traffic!
45Deere9500 I'm sure! Just a slight little joke :-) One of the things I enjoy most, having grown up farming, is the rural atmosphere of Jake's (and others') posts! Believe it or not, where I was raised in southern NJ, it used to look much like that 50 years ago. Now whenever I go back to visit the old family place, there are large tasteless suburban houses where we used to bale hay and hunt pheasants and rabbits. Makes me a bit sad, to be honest. I guess what they say is true: you don't miss something until you don't have it anymore! Thanks for the 411, and have an excellent evening :-) Jeff
These ride-a-long videos are great. Look at the subs number climbing! Due to the well produced video's. We're proud of you! Won't be too long and you'll be generating an income from the channel.
Nice you not far from elevator and no traffic.I haul with single axel Chevy 7000 but don't think I could haul a wagon here in the hills of Ontario and she all uphill loaded. just got on to your channel and it's a dandy. You must of had a good White dealer in the past.Handshake nice to meet you on the tube.
69druth thanks man! Ya it don't like hills very much our 7000 with an auto tranny and cat engine does a lot better with hills. We just had one but they have good support I mean really good support then 3 years ago agco pulled the dealer away really pissed us off
you are really adding subscribers quick. great videos. Can't believe it, one of your roads has a curve in it. thought they were all straight with 4 way intersections every mile back there. (kind of serious on that comment. never been to the midwest but looks flat and straight everywhere) Cop probably thought "Oh grain truck is gonna have a ton of problems with it, it will take 45 minutes to write the ticket, that will make me late, the wife will complain, so let him go"
Jay Groom ya I can't believe how the channel has takin off. Lol east central IL is really flat any way. There's a town called flatville and for several miles in every direction it looks like the fields have been lazor leveled. Like they don't change but a couple feet in elevation for a miles
I believe you guys from the pictures. we have a Longview out here, but it is a misnomer. maybe in relation to everywhere else. you can also get up high in the mountains and see quite a ways
To me it looked like that stop sign was just for the tourists .Great video Jake sounds like your corn is doing well when do you normally get snow hope it isnt for a while .I had a 69 ford from Illinois. the dash and gages look similar.
Howard Younger bet that was a nice truck. Haha I don't get why they need a 4 way there. And usually December but we haven't got much the past couple years
She seems to do pretty good with that old 331. Sounds like the old girl would be a good candidate for an engine swap. A 361 or 370 4v would swap right in without too much of an issue. Or you could really go all out and swap in an old 12v 6bt Cummins. That would be an awesome grain truck then.
Nice I'm looking at an ex fire truck the owner doesn't know what he has and he cant tell me if it has a 2 speed axel but its got 13k miles on it.... and all kinds of levers and buttons he says its a bit of haul for me in my 79F250 4x4.
JakeF600 having 96,000 miles on her sounds she got another 96,000 in her changing gears wow smooth sounding. Now the reason why you did not get a ticket is he could not prove you did not yield at the stop sign. Yurrie he was given a ticket and went to court and contested the ticket saying he did yield. The judge ask the officer can you prove he did not yield at the stop sign and of course being so far away could not swear he did not see him stop. Knowing Yurrie he did yield at the stop sign and I could not prove he did not at the stop sign for way at home lol.
Hey Jake, 3rd gear don't scream I want a new bearing, your emergency brake control don't rattle and there are no rusty metal primer spots on the hood, other that those missing items I felt right at home in your F600. hey thanks for the ride along man! :) way cool very nice F600 you got there. yep, my old motor was the 330 CID new motor 352 CID. new motor much better. I'm now looking for a 5 speed trans rather than rebuild the 4 speed to solve my 3rd gear issue. you don't right off know the model of the transmission in your F600? thanks Jake, great video.
Soybean Farmer haha urs still hauls grain too. No don't know the model they made two different 5 speeds for it. If I can find a tag on it I'll let u know
thanks Jake. just knowing there is a five speed that will work in the F600 truck is a big plus and reenergizes my search. the people I've asked just shook head and said no. oh yea, thanks for the shout out.
thanks it was fun to ride along and thanks for the work you do to feed us. Ill be it would bee fun to drive that truck for a trip or two. You probably could get people to pay you to drive it for a day i would enjoy it i know. They were made heavy duty and simple. And built to last. SOme of the body steel was p[roblematic in the salt of the northeast but if the same trucks were build now identical just sbustitute aluminum bodies they would last forever with those dana axles and spicer ujoints etc etc. 330 360 390 the 352 and on and on NP205 all the good stuff gear driven and that whine is the whine of long long long lasting quality but now it has to be imported from China and that is a DAMN SHAME. PRESIDENT TRUMP we need AMERICAN MADE EQUIPMENT LIKE THIS WITH VERY FEW MODERN UPDATES AND WITH YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL ROLLBACKS WE CAN BUILD THIS KIND OF QUALITY AGAIN REMEMBER AT "FORD QUALITY IS JOB ONE"

Great ol truck.Drove one for years.

I love the sound of that 330 and the Clark five speed. They have a sound all their own.
Nice video Jake, You guys sure have some beautifully maintained equipment. Shows you take a lot of pride in what you do. I wouldn't change a thing on that grain truck, she's a real survivor. Take care and will see you next post.
Scott Viers thanks Scott I appreciate it!
Jake that 600 sounds good, I could tell you had her loaded, you are lucky to have a elevator so close to home, back when I was cropping had to haul 40 or so miles sometimes be midnight getting home.
Joe Tiller thanks joe that's quite a haul if we did that I think we would have semis lol
That's a nice old grain truck. I use to haul a lot of grain from a Case IH 1660 with grain trucks about this size in my early 20's.
Fieldman12 thanks that would be a good set up
Thanks Jake! I enjoyed the ride, train , and the shout out of me and my cousin "soybean farmer " . Thanks again!
ScottyRockTrains no problem i like ur channels thanks for watching

+Jake Ziegler BTW, I sent you an FB friend request. Of course, if you don't want an old kook for a friend, I understand, lol :-)
These ride-a-long videos are great. Look at the subs number climbing! Due to the well produced video's. We're proud of you! Won't be too long and you'll be generating an income from the channel.

Jay, I think you are thinking of Arizona? Especially the metro area.
Jay Groom ya I can't believe how the channel has takin off. Lol east central IL is really flat any way. There's a town called flatville and for several miles in every direction it looks like the fields have been lazor leveled. Like they don't change but a couple feet in elevation for a miles
Jay Groom haha that is a very good possibility
Flatville, Longview, and Broadlands, all 3 towns in Champaign County.
I believe you guys from the pictures. we have a Longview out here, but it is a misnomer. maybe in relation to everywhere else. you can also get up high in the mountains and see quite a ways
thanks for sharing Jake enjoyed the drive
George Turner thanks George
Looks like a frack sand train. The second unit was a Kansa City Southern. I model part of there line.
And usually December but we haven't got much the past couple years
Must be nice being able too haul 450 bushel on a f600 in my country 250 bushel is a load on a c70 Chevy
I'm 14 I am going to get one soon I've driven a syncro for about 2 years, and I'm now gonna start practicing for my CDL on a truck like this one.

Terry Presnal haha now ur talkin great minds think alike! It would already have a 12v if it was up to me and my brother
Looks like you got a lot of rain over the weekend based on the puddles along the road.
Old dump truck still working with the big Rigs
Nice I'm looking at an ex fire truck the owner doesn't know what he has and he cant tell me if it has a 2 speed axel but its got 13k miles on it.... and all kinds of levers and buttons he says its a bit of haul for me in my 79F250 4x4.
Truck sounds great. Looks to be very well maintained. What year model?
Looks like your right out by rantoul Illinois if I remember correctly.
Thanks for the ride along Jake, how long before we see the 7800 eat some corn?
Massey1105driver thanks for watching and It should be up tomorrow evening
What motor is in that old ford?
What's your basis on corn up there? Here closer to the coast we're +10. Just wondering
TwoHappyChildrenFarm that's cheap I think it's around +60
What kind of tires are on the gravity wagon and how well do they travel down the road?
Michigan Farming there retred semi tires and they run really nice
Jake Ziegler ok thanks man
My f600 is having problems and i need tips on how too fix it. every time i press the accelerator it dies out. i'm thinking that it's the fuel pump.
Isaac Roets accelerator pump
Convert your truck to Fuel Injection google it
Probably need s a new carb and fuel pump a 750 Holly should be plenty gas doesn't last no time now
The fuel pump just fills the carburetor float bowl. It doesn't directly impact driveability.
Jake , eco friendly means you call him SIR !
Are these all manual trucks?
So I should be able to haul 7 or 8 tons with a 1965 f600 that is in great condition?
Ya u should be fine. I wouldn’t go over 35 or 40 tho
Got a video I want to show you Jake! 1660 cuttin 35 bushel beans with a 1020 30 ft head.
The cop would have called your bullshit on the EPA excuse lol. Nice how your roads are a lot quieter than ours.
That 1st gear is insanely slow if you were in it on that hill stop sign before crossing the tracks.
The American Outdoorsman prolly would've lol. Yes it is the axle ratio is like 9:1 and then 1st in the trans is lower on top of that
Jesus that's rough
that 330 has a little more pick up without 500bu on the back lol
CE Smith lol yep
we got a 67 f600 we hauled grain in. it just sits now since we dont farm anymore.
Wes Pancake fix it drive it like i do mine i take mine to work
Sounds like a bearing was going bad. Regards...

roger wilson thanks roger yes it prolly does. That's good thinking could be a possibility. I'm not going to test the theory tho lol
Jake
His brother Roman did test it but still had to pay the ticket it call traffic cam lol.
