all folding knives without the flipper finger guard/choil is a fail. all locks are fallible. the flipper finger guard is an important and mandatory feature. a 500 dollar knife without it is worth less than a tick on a dog's butt
I have had an Umnumzaan in my pocket since I got it around 2 years ago. Most reliable, coolest looking and finest piece of cutlerly I’ve owned. Highly recommend d
I just got my first CRK, a large sebenza 31. I’m still trying to figure it out. It’s a knife I’ve always had my eye on and I do really love it I’ve been carrying it for a week now and it is super solid, great lock up excellent fit and finish but as you stated it is just a knife. I understand that now, I don’t want to say it’s a case of the chase is better than the pleasure of owning it because I do really love this knife. But just keep in mind if you’re like me and you’ve pined for a sebenza or any other expensive knife for a while; it’s just a knife despite the price tag and the endless amount of praise from “fanboys” , the 450 dollar knife cuts just as well as the 150 dollar knife or the XX amount knife. Nice video Jeff.
I wouldn't of traded a knife that rare for a readily available 500$ knife, not including the fixed blade but glad to see you with some higher end knives. Anyway the inkosi is great, I have the tanto black micarta version. Enjoy. 👍
Carried a Large Inkosi with the Insingo blade for 2 years now. People say they are Overpriced but its hard to find a Knife company that has quality standards that CRK has. The fact that they give you the tools and supplies to take it apart and clean and lube it tells you they stand behind the knife and you as the owner. Cool fact about the inkosi it uses a ceramic ball as the detnt and lock bar interface. I'm pretty sure that Chris Reeves himself has stepped away from the company. Now days His Son and ex-wife run the company with the same passion and drive for perfection in knife making that Chris built the company on.
If you got two CRK knives for one CRKT Knife, you did very well on that trade, in my opinion. I never had a CRKT knife that I was terribly impressed with.
Personally since I cannot afford what I consider espensive knives ide like to see you checking out some really espensive knives. Like up the 8/10K range. Like one maker I love her knives is Rainey vallaton. But they are from another world literally she uses meatiorits and other unattainable materials also her double ended knifes are just wicked badass.
@@CNYKnifeNerd there are probably a few others I would like more. Especially a good otf but because I am Canadian no otf for me. It is sad I could actually get a handgun easier as long as I have gotten all of the paperwork and jumped through all the RCMP hoops I can legally own one but not a otf. The laws are stupid sometimes.
Man! You made off good on this trade 👏🏻 I have had like 7 Sebenzas since I started this god forsaken hobby lol and carried one exclusively for 4+ years as my main EDC blade. I also have the Nyala, great little fixie 👍🏻 I believe it's now discontinued.
Price has nothing to do with the chosen design they could design it anyway they want, its not like they designed it this way to make it more affordable lol you certainly don't feel it in this handle pattern like you may on a cheapoer knife with thiunner scales...
@@cutlerylover I disagree. Properly matching the scales to the tang costs more time and effort, thus money. With a proud tang you can just CNC the scales slightly under dimension and have them fit every time. They don't design it that way to make it more affordable, for sure, but to increase their bottom line. To me, a proud tang is not a "feature" I want on a high-end production knife, period. Some Italian makers have proud tangs, too, but they usually are much more subtle and more crowned, which makes it less of an issue. On the CR, however... still not a fan.
Sorry Jeff. Had to stop watching half way through. That fixed blade is a great looking knife. It's beautiful to ME. Then bladeHQ is sold out and says discontinued... 🤬😭🤬😭
The deep carry clip isn't from CRK. It's an after market clip from Lynch Northwest just to clear up any possible confusion!
Thanks yeah I figured that out aftre filming :)

Man that Nyala is a grail knife for me! I love that configuration.
Lol, two Chris Reeve knives for one CRKT, you straight up ski masked that dude.
My thoughts as soon as I saw the title😂
Pretty sure the CRKT XOC is an $800 knife
Yup! All of his trades seem super one sided

The Y in the nyala is spoken like the y in yellow...the first a is a long a sound and the second a short one. It's named after an african antilope

Trade of the century.
You definitely got the better end of that deal. Very nice.
I put the same clip on my inkosi tanto it has one of the tightest clips to get in and out
I rock hinderer XM-18 3.5 for my edc but looking to pick up CRK Knives very very soon
Ok the xoc makes sense. The title threw me off pretty hardcore lol. I was like "that dude got the HOOK UP"

The inkosi with that blade shape is my Grail knife!
CRK actually recommends WD-40 as a lubricant?? Nice.
Cool knives!

This is one of the only high end knives I will absolutely buy one day.
Interesting choice.

Chris Reeve is one of my favorite knife designers.
That folder is one of my favorite knives from chris Reeve.
That lynch clip is almost $80. Pretty nice add-on. It's machined from a solid chunk of titanium
The Crkt was limited but they where available for a long time. Still might be but I haven’t checked.
Just checked and you can still buy a new one!
yes its a niche knife only few love because its so expensive
I live in Idaho and ready like to hear/hear about anything that comes out of ID.
I kinda want to get a spydiechef. Idk 🤷🏼♂️
Awesome stuff
Those Lynch clips are pretty darn nice, but for me, the CRK clips are just perfect. *chef’s kiss*
The WD-40 thing drives me nuts, too, Jeff.

Hi Jeff Nyala is a African antelope and is pronounced as "Nai-aa-luh"
Nice trade
Johann
But yea I love crk recently got a crk Wilson combat inkosi!
$78 for that clip.
Not a fan of the proud tang... especially not at that price point.

If you ever wanna sell the fixed blade let me know or trade! I got a huge collection
I crave a CRK, daddy Jeff.
He has nothing to do with the company anymore...last I heard anyway. I've always thought they under harden the steel and I hate the late lock up.
