Hi I've just back ordered mine now its not out to the 1st August can't wait to give it a bash around. Much better build then the arrma outcast 6s almost faster then the 6s I think 🤔
@@logitechz3 Not really, the 4s version out of the box is stronger than the 6s EXB. It's lighter and has give in the chassis. My original 4s is still running like a champ only changing the A-arms to RPM. The v2 4s is even beefier in all the right places. My Kraton & Outcast 6s EXBs have every freaking upgrade just to keep it from breaking.
Great review. Loved my Big Rock, never broke more than an arm in 3 years of bashing. My Sledge was constantly breaking after just a few months of much lighter use. Arrma really nailed it with these.
Although I bought the Kraton 4S v2 but must compliment you ... for me the BEST unboxing video what there is for the 4S v2 series on UA-cam. 👌 Great compliment even if it is already a certain time online, but could me so even get a few tips that I did not know yet!👍👍👍 Keep up the great and especially informative videos ! Greetings
Wonderful video I love it , I find this video very useful , especially for those people who is the first time ownning Arrma truck like me. Thanks again
@@mgscheue Yeah Mark for sure. I agree with alot of the points Tony made about it might be a more durable truck with it being lighter and mostly plastic but at the same price seemed like a no branier as you definitely get alot more bang for buck with the 6s version. Plus I have a upgraded brcc that I widened out a bit so is like in between this 4s outcast and the 3s trucks
Everything you said is spot on. I have the Outcast 6S and wifey has the Vorteks 3S. She loves my Outcast and I love her Vorteks. That sounds weird. Lol. I find that anything 6S or higher (especially with a metal chassis) tends to break easier. She's had a few accidents with her Vorteks, that have always resulted in minor breakage. Usually a shock rod getting bent or broken. She even sank it in the LA river for over 10 min. Having to tear it apart after it being sunk in water, was the ultimate reason I fell in love with Arrma RC's. They are so much easier to work on, and you can get to the diff's in a matter of minutes. I've found that I've had to do literally little to no maintenance on her Vorteks. We use it, rinse it, spray it with WD-40 with Silicon, and lube the bearings as necessary. Since watching videos of the Outcast 4S, I've literally considered getting one and or getting rid of my Outcast 6S for one. The 3S & 4S line up of Arrma vehicles are just as fast and seem to be way more durable than the 6S & 8S line up. I for sure have the Outcast 4S and the Kraton 4S on my watch list and possibly the Granite 4x4 3S for the little one.
Great video Tony, I can't wait until next week because I'm buying this truck. I've had the 3s granite but now it's time for me to try 4s. I really like ur videos because u do a indepement review and u take the truck out for a rip. So keep up with the awesome work. And stay smiling for miles. 🤗🙏🤟🤟
I had one of these ordered until they had the Notorious 6s sale for really the same price so I purchased that instead. Not sure if I made the right choice, but the Notorious is really fun.
Thanks Jason! My favorite part about these is how easy they made them to work on. I saw your videos and it looks fantastic. I've run it once and it's an animal. took some hard hits.
Nice review Tony. I'm so glad you finally got yours as I always look forward to your videos. Run videos up against BRCC and/or Vorteks would be great. I'm sure a lot of folks will be upgrading soon!
Out of all the rc's I've bought, the 2 vorteks are the only ones I wish I wouldn't have. Been lemons otb for me. Replaced shocks on both, servos on both, esc on 1, 1 had the hub come apart and both on different remotes. They are fast and fun to drive but not reliable enough for me.
This thing definitely is more plush than those two and lands with more authority. They definitely feel lighter and bouncier than this rig. Glad to hear you like the reviews. lots of run videos coming
I really appreciate the deep dive into the tech. I'm going to replace the receiver with one for a Flysky GT5 to consolidate remotes and maybe make use of some of that receiver's gyro features.
Thanks for the vid. Thinking of getting rid of the X-maxx 8s, 2x4s batteries and charger combo with no more than 10 runs on 8s ( sometimes 6s is enough) with Proline Badlands (ran 4xs) and Duratrax Hatchet X wheels and tires (ran for a week) two sets of Xmaxx tires still 80% tread, Proline Brute Body and green body, all heavy duty A-arms, (green upper and black bottoms), upgraded servo and better gears. All for $1000. Then would like to get the Kraton 4s And Outcast 4s. Also get rid of the Hoss, Typjon 3s, Rustler 4x4 vxl. Keeping the Typhon 6s and Probably let go of the Nocast 6s and Kraton 6s. Love to run them, but disabled and the bigger ones get to heavy to lug around together to take to a good spot. The 4s would be just right. And YES definitely cheaper to repair.
I went with the 6s notorious as it was on sale and the same price and never had one. But I've been saying these points from the beginning as well that this one might be more durable with it being alot lighter. I like it and will probably get one down the line but since I never owned one I had to go with the 6s at the same price. Just much better value at the same price point anyway
@@philthyco1 From all the videos I've seen it's seemed to take a beating. I've been petty suprised how durable the new arms seem which is a good sign for their plastics and the redesign on those anyway. Razors chassis broke but I think sending it 20-30' and pretty rough terrain was the reason behind his chassis break. I definitely think in that bash spot a 6s aluminum 1/8th scale would be better suited for that place. I wouldn't have to worry about it cause I don't send them 20-30' lol. I meant more in my case where it would hold up better in terms of cartwheels and crashes off that small ramp. For someone of my skill jumping and landing bad I think the more plastic 4s version would probably hold up a little better and be more forgiving then the heavy 6s ones. I think if Razor and 1 or 2 more people had a chassis issue could be the exception rather then the rule. I have been suprised on the bad hits and landings I've seen in alot of running videos. Even in rc hot spots video he had a rough bad landing previous that probably weakened it and then that lesser hit it failed and I mean if your jumping and land bad breaks happen. But time will definitely tell about these. I definitely made the right choice for sure but if I didn't have the 3s brcc I'd probably get one. if I had to choose between the 3s and 4s I'd no doubt get the 4s outcast for the extra 100$. You were probably salivating when you seen that happen to razors truck lol "everybody's snapping chassis!" 🤣.... Just messing with you bro! 😉
I’ll definitely be buying one of the 4s. It’s really 1/8 scale but plastic and 4s. Also, the mighty tool rocks 👊🏼 me and my bud I have one too both love em
Hi bro how it going great video for us. Nice colour body shell love ❤️ the big wheels that good there no centre difference only front and rear diffs only less worry about working on them 👍
They are a nice looking rig and I think you are right it is going to be a good selling platform not everyone wants to run that big heavy 6s car. The 4s is going to be prefect for that
I tend to run my 6s notorious and kraton on 4s. Boring I know lol, 6s is fun but I run mine a lot with my 6 year old and 6s is insane. So these 4s ones have my attention.
Looks very sick and might be my next truck. Was thinking of getting the 6s version after I got the 6s Typhon but I think the 4s version will perfect for my needs.. Gonna be interesting to see it compared to the Maxx V2
I sure wish they would sell it as a roller. That would be freaking awesome. I always end up changing the electronics anyway. I guess I'll have to wait until they sell the roller/sliders on eBay which they always do because they make twice as much removing the electronics and selling them on their own.
Yeah I agree, ditch the spektrum junk electronics and offer it as a roller - I'd have one in a flash. Spec esc's, particularly the sub 6S ones, seem to be only marginally better than the junk Traxxas put in their rigs.
No review is completely objective. This is based on my personal experience and preferences. I didn't compare it to other companies RC, but only to it's bigger and smaller counterparts that ARRMA makes and trying to explain who this one would be targeted toward. I had the previous 4s Kraton that I liked and often chose to run in stead of my 6s vehicles. I gave away my Kraton 4s when I got the Big Rock Crew Cab 3s and that's all I wanted to use for bashing. No intent other than to show it for what it is. I will say that I never show the diffs or take other cars apart in an unboxing because it's usually too much of a pain. Unlike other channels that claim to be objective and constantly tell you what RCs you "have to have", I just try to show them for what they are and never tell people they need one. We don't need them all. If it's interesting to someone and they can get that by watching and choose to buy...then by all means go for it. I did plug my tool...which is totally product placement of something I find very handy. :)
@@CCxRC Ok, I understand that but not a single bad word like this truck is perfect and we all know thats not true. For example falling pinions, spacers for shocks, battery straps etc.
looks epic cant wait to get mine. out the box probably way stronger than the 6s
No way, Kevin, the buggy platform of the 6s version is always better than the 3/4s :p

The price between 6s&4s is much larger here in the UK so 4s makes a lot of sence
In the US, for a time, there was a just a $10 difference because they rather strangely put the 6S on sale shortly after introducing the 4S.
