Thanks for putting this video up it's one of only two videos I've found when trying to learn how to make a new tiller for my FJ! Great work, I'm adding carbon fiber in between my layers otherwise following this pretty closely.
Love seeing this go together. The only thing I would suggest is that you varnish after the epoxy. Epoxy is very affected by the sun. Some coats of marine varnish are necessary to filter out UV. Also gives a very mellow color to the wood finish. What glue (white stuff) did you use between the strips of wood?
Why have not posted more? It's like watching those videos of artist draw online. This is mesmerizing. But thank you for posting this, that was awesome.
Very Nice! Would you (or anyone here) know what the aluminum portion that holds the handle is called? I need to build or buy the whole assembly. Thanks.
I'm fixing up my maxi77. Your vidz helped, Thanks...lovely job. May I know what type of filler u used for bolt hole, and is your last coat some kind of lacquer with hardener? What kind is it?
Dear Ong Soo Chong, for the bolt holes I used west system epoxy mixed with sawdust. I painted the whole tiller with Synthetic resin varnish five times.
Danke fürs Teilen des Videos ! Die Pinne meiner S22 sieht noch etwas besser aus als Deine zu Beginn des Videos. Aber irgendwann werde ich die Pinne auch erneuern müssen...
Outstanding tutorial! I especially liked your steam box and how you formed the curve so nicely. Excellent work! Thanks for sharing your expertise.
