I’m glad you brought up mindful spammers since everyone acts like spammers only ever mindlessly abuse massive hitboxes and it’s “just jump over them and punish”, but every time I face a mindful spammer, they have a sort of 50/50 system going on where they either use a move with a huge hitbox that usually can be countered by jumping over and punishing, or some kind of anti air combination that counters your attempt to stop their first option, and I always end up choosing the wrong one and taking 10+ damage each time. I’ll try and study them a bit more the next time I face one.
directional influence was a fire tip, didn't even know that was part of the game. I remember in the beta we deal less damage if we spam, don't know why they removed that from the game, tho the debuff wasn't very strong it was better than literally nothing
Thanks! Stale dmg is still in the game, but I honestly think it takes way too long to kick in. It kicks in at about 6 of the same move. If you do one move and then another (as you see in stun locker section), it's registering 12 moves before stale, not 6. So, not only is 6 too high (imo) to START, each move is classified as something different. Meaning by time it stales, your stock is gone almost every time if the player is good. It also doesn't reset off new moves, it resets off cooldown. If someone takes a stock and runs around for a few seconds, they can do what they just did with no penalty. In smash, it goes by a queue system and to unstale the move, the player will need to move that attack out of the queue. I do not know if it goes away by "cooldown" I can't remember.
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036Thanks for sharing! I wondered if staling worked the same as smash, now I know it doesn't. Does DI work the same as Smash ultimate?
Yes, but I noticed it's a bit more forgiving, you don't need to be as strict to do it, but it could be due to smash being an older title compared to 2024 MultiVersus. (smash dropped in 18)
The stale move information is misleading. It's still in the game but it is functionally different. Instead of less damage or hitstun though, it's less knockback. ONLY knockback. Remember how Iron Giant had like, 4 different infinites? You can thank the new move decay for that.
In addition to all that. Some moves just straight up go through everything. There doesn't seem to be a cohesive system to determine what moves should beat others based off power or damage. It does seems like some moves are set to unbreakable and won't be stopped.
Yea, those are the panic buttons I was referring to. Most fighting games have characters who have a get out of jail free card for the character. Nothing beats it, it comes out quick, and it's easy to do. Games usually don't tell you which they are, you just have to figure it out. In Tekken, Steve has one. It's quick, hard to read and it'll shutdown any approach. I know street fighter has some too, smash as well.

Feel like most of the time, I try to react to their actions and it doesn't matter. On my screen, I reacted on time, on their screen, I did nothing and they hit me. It goes both ways too. I've been in matches where it feels like I have the lag advantage and my actions are performed how I intended. The input buffer plus the lag literally feels like my character acts on their own somethings.
Yea, I feel you with that. Some matches I'll notice the buffer apply SUPER early. I'm like bro, I pressed that like 3 seconds ago. When I notice that I'll slow down my inputs and be as precise as possible. (doesn't resolve the issue, but i go back to playing normally)
100 percent accurate. I had an occasion when I was fighting a shaggy that I knew I was better than and got him down to 1 hit to win the entire match then he just spammed the kick multiple times and won lol. What's worse was that he was toxic at the end and didn't rematch. Like bro you spamming 1 broken move doesn't make you better.
as a steven main, I tend to try and approach with either shield surf, neutral special setup or neutral air and I know I usually like to try and down air into juggle basically would that be 1,2,3 spammer type of gameplay? since I try to send them upwards and keep hitting them in the air until they die or come back down, I feel like that's kinda how the character works though, its not as easy to get horizontal combos going with him
Usually, you'll know if you're that type of player if someone prevents you from doing something and you don't know where to go from there. What seperates a good player from a great player is adaptation. Should you approach one way, and if it doesn't work you do this, which leads into that, etc. That shows you're not limited, you just opt to do those things first. I hope that helps? 👀 If you find yourself in the position of being the 1,2,3 player, it's easier to improve because you already understand how your character functions. Now you'll just need to apply the adaptation should you see fit every match. The goal is to play to the player, not the character.
At this point spammers arent even difficult to fight once you get much better at a parry. There are only a few characters that i struggle to parry the moves
It's in the cards, but no ranked made me want to pause on guides. Making something that would only work because of casuals would fall short in ranked. I believe the mode is coming out this week (hopefully) so don't worry, you'll see more guides. Make sure to sub so you don't miss it!
For me I usually just get screwed cause I play Jason. While Jason can avoid stuff if you space it godly and plan like 8 steps ahead otherwise you become every Shaggy, Harley, and Wonder Woman’s bitch simply cause their attacks are faster then everything you have and from your best tools like the axe on the ground you can sometimes have too much buildup to actually hit. I’m probably the best example of a git Gud but sometimes the axe is your only counter play (WW shield) and it just doesn’t work
No, you're absolutely correct. Big characters no matter the game are always at a disadvantage and will need to work harder than the opponent to come out on top. (that's not to say there are no answers to what the enemy is doing, it's just you have to work harder to find it)
Saying they were great tips I don't think meant they were for them. They were just giving a compliment saying it helps others. No need to bring ego into the mix and put others down, we're all here chillin. 🙂
Had to come here.... bugs, shaggy and finn spammers all day . But people perfect their spamming. I had to slow down and adapt. But the spams into emote/spammming t bagging is fruststing 😭😭cause they arent even good
I feel you, hah. Swear teabagging turned into just something you do when you win now?? Idk, I feel this is the only fighting game I've seen with that much lack of respect for the match. 👀 And yes, when they do it it's usually someone who didn't do anything special to win LMAO 😂. I 100% feel where you're coming from.
I don't think it's inherently toxic. Only when you teabag because of the matchup or because you're aware you're just that much better than the other person and you're winning. But popping off at the end of a match I feel is ok and until new emotes are added will probably be the norm. Can't wait for the actual toxic emotes.
Extremely helpful most of my friends i play with are using these tactics so now i know how to beat them Thanks P.s. i'm also glad iron giant is gone or i think everyone would be doomed
Not a type of spammer but I absolutely despise people who are asshole when other players disconnect. Since my teammate disconnects every other match i have seen so many. They’ll see my teammate DC’d and then double team me until i die then kill my unmoving teammate. Once i respawn one person will keep me away while the other just keeps farming my DC’d teammate Not only is that super incredibly annoying on its own, but then these people have the gall to teabag and taunt after winning. Like wow, congratulations on the 2v1 using the easiest characters in the game. It is always Shaggy, Banana Guard, and Wonder Woman
I'm not sure why they space it out. I've never seen a fighting game where if someone has all the characters they stop playing the game. Even if it's not a fighting game, I've never seen anything like that. I'm sure it'll change in the future.

@@Watch-0w1 If he's just dodged your move, he has a couple of frames of invulnerability. In this time, use it to gain distance from him and return the fight to neutral. For Shaggy's they usually suck and are unpredictable, so just try to keep distance and parry the flying kick.

@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 np m8 , its fun that my pain amuses you 🤣 (We both felt that pain so its even better) Imo multiversous has some priorities to fix ... but when they finish fixing the basics like server issues , lag , inpossible character grind , NOT HAVING ALL CHARACTERS UNLOCKED IN LOCAL , noot having online mode and bla bla bla Then they should focus on game play like , speed , FIXING PRIORITY AND HITBOXES , making dodge actually work 😂 Then they can add characters cuz people will actually enjoy what they are playing It feels like a huge disadvantage to play heavy characters like garnet , cuz your literraly a punching bag that cant escape a simple combo because dodging doesnt work 😂 Baby steps i guess
All this advice is good and all but first performance needs to improve. Timings is different between matches so it's hard to apply stuff you are trying to practice. Lab and rifts are not the same.
So i gotta ask, why combos exist? I mean, with how hard fighting games are, one of the most complicated thing are the combos, and even then youre not guaranteed to with with those stupid ovecomplicated combos Also, i hate frame data
In most fighting games at high level play/pro play, they actually don't do complex combos at all. They are usually as simple as 1,2,3,4. Usually, players that are not at that skill level think fighting games are more combo focused when it's really just finding an opening. When it comes to platform fighters, there really aren't traditional "combos". They mostly are just juggles, however, for the sake of understanding I said combos. I guess TLDR, fighting games have combos to more or less look flashy/cool and bring a lot of fun moments to casual play. In reality, they are rarely used when the moments matter.
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 come to think about it, there are fighting games that dont use combos, but its only a few, lie the Samurai Shodown series, or Eternal Champions, i think. Speaking of combos, there's also fighting ganes where those are overcomplicated, like the Tekken series I mean, what the heck does the star mean
Tekken is also like that, you don't really use any complex combos unless you're having fun. High level/pro play will continue to use simple ones that work. (even if it looks complex) Stuff like combo trials in games like Tekken/Street fighter are just for fun. No one really uses those combos to play the game. If I can get 50 DMG doing a simple combo or 60 doing a complex one, unless you're showing off you'll do the simple one. I'm trying to remember which stars you're talking about in Tekken. 🤔 Maybe I can explain more.
Truthfully, I'm a spammer. I spam my wonder woman air side attack to get ringouts. My intentions are that i spam until it doesn't work in my mmr/rating and then slowly transition out of it. I'm sure there's better strats to improving but i like learning while seeing wins. Sue me. Lmao
It takes three minutes in the lab to just learn some moves, you're using the most broken character in the game and admitting to spamming, like fuck off lmao get better
Taz tornado isn't a super armor attack. It takes one hit to put him out of it. You'll confuse players by calling it one, it's not even one by technicality. There's a huge difference between super armor and trading because the game lacks good hitboxes or a priority system. Armor break is not going to help against Taz tornado spammers because there is no armor to break.
It's funny seeing people get mad at spammers. They should be mad at themselves. They just died to a raid boss doing the same telegraphed move 50 times in a row.
That’s the thing, I didn’t sign up to play dark souls. These guys who spam are just bad at the game. They drag out the match by playing passive and spamming. If I wanted to play a raid boss then I would play a game like that. . Spammers are beating but fighting them, sucks the soul out the game.
@ExoticZah I feel that, I feel that. You do have to play better than average to beat them which some don't want to do. Especially, when the title is meant to be beginner friendly and casual fun. I 100% see both sides of the story.
To be fair the game does make it difficult at times to doge or counter the spammed move. It’s no different with people camping or running around with a shotgun In COD. The creators caters to make the game somewhat playable even for the worst of players .

@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 I understand, I already know how to adapt as I play smash but that's pretty good advice, all I need is more experience
Please make a video on dodge spammers 😭
I need a video on how tf to get out of combos. once the first connects I just have to sit and wait
The "stunlocker" section of the video explains it. 🙂
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 I almost deleted my comment when I made it that far 😅.
I'm new to the game and have admittedly been spamming, so right now i'm trying to learn how to play the actual game
Thanks big time bro, low key had it with the banana guard spammers not gonna lie. Sub from me!
LMAO, yea they can be real bothersome sometimes. Glad I could help and welcome! 🙂
OFC the shazam main has the spammer knowledge
I main superman.
sorry, I made an assumption and I was wrong. you replied to my comment and lots of others, you're a good man, forgive me
Now give us a video where u teach us how to deal with runners, every game I be having they all just runaway and I always have to chase em
Let them come to you
I have a few others up my sleeve, no worries. 😉
Samurai Jack and Shaggy its the samurai GOD 😂
At this point spammers arent even difficult to fight once you get much better at a parry. There are only a few characters that i struggle to parry the moves
is there any effective way to learn? i can never seem to get it
if attack decay and hitboxes where as good as it was in beta these would only be small issues
Wish someone would make a tutorial about dealing with dodge spam😢
It's in the cards, but no ranked made me want to pause on guides. Making something that would only work because of casuals would fall short in ranked.
I believe the mode is coming out this week (hopefully) so don't worry, you'll see more guides. Make sure to sub so you don't miss it!
W Video, you cooked im not gonna lie
Much appreciated. 🙂
(that's not to say there are no answers to what the enemy is doing, it's just you have to work harder to find it)
Ok but what about dealing with superman super armor move spam? Lol
Take the perk that'll prevent them from using the super armor. It's a must against wonder woman imo. She is nutty.
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 I didn't even notice there was one. Thank you
I feel it needs tweaking for sure, it's not as prominent as you may think. The way people talk about it in beta, it might have been better there.
I’m a top 1% player and these were great tips
Thank you! 🙂
I highly doubt you are a top 1% player if you don’t have a basic understanding of how neutral works in a game.
Saying they were great tips I don't think meant they were for them. They were just giving a compliment saying it helps others. No need to bring ego into the mix and put others down, we're all here chillin. 🙂
I use Tom and Jerry and I appreciate the spammers cause they only make me better at overall skill on the OP characters
And yes, when they do it it's usually someone who didn't do anything special to win LMAO 😂.
They took out attack decay for what
It's still in the game.
Extremely helpful most of my friends i play with are using these tactics so now i know how to beat them Thanks
P.s. i'm also glad iron giant is gone or i think everyone would be doomed
LMAO 😂 He should be coming back sooooon. Also, no problem. Glad it helps! 🙂
Dealing with try hard Morty players:
The beta had the damage nullifier. Clueless as to why it was removed 🤷🏾♂️
It's still in the game. I explained how it works in another comment.... somewhere. 👀
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 main problem for me is the grind to earn FC. Literally getting nothing for a game right now 😢
I'm not sure why they space it out. I've never seen a fighting game where if someone has all the characters they stop playing the game. Even if it's not a fighting game, I've never seen anything like that. I'm sure it'll change in the future.
As a person who enjoys spamming when my opponent can't counter it I condone this message. A little toxic. Only a little.
Thank you, but now i know i'm a combo spammer 😅
Shaggy mains
I hate how you get punished for dodging a move
Dodge spam my problem. This game dont have a limit to dodgining?
This doesn’t make sense because they added a dodge meter that depletes and goes up slowly once in burn out. They still need to be able to dodge you.
@@OmarTheGoat last time I was playing 1v1. Jason versus shaggy, I was Jason.
In thatmatch Shaggy keep dodging all my move. I couldn't hit him even once. I face him 3 matches.
I am not a pro, but have been playing since beta when game was just a mess
@@Watch-0w1watch his dodge meter when it runs out go full aggro. You arent punishing the dodges. Also jump up and feign attacking to bait them out
@@geraltofrivia4651 how can you punish a dodge if he's punishing you back for attacking?
How many dodge you get and how much time until it recover?
@@Watch-0w1 If he's just dodged your move, he has a couple of frames of invulnerability. In this time, use it to gain distance from him and return the fight to neutral.
Bait out attacks with movement against Jason cause a lot of his kit is committal and can't be dodge canceled out of. For Shaggy's they usually suck and are unpredictable, so just try to keep distance and parry the flying kick.
9:10 bugs players all day quite annoying but yes DI your way out if it ya best we can do it’s not perfect though
Bro when iron giant return
Should be this week if all goes well. They were saying we'll see you "next week". It is now next week.
Taz players are the WORST , they spam up sandwich up special and tornado
THATS IT
tge characters i use are not good counters to him because i main jake and garned , some times bugs bunny , but bruisers needs to be up close and taz has stupid priority on these moves , stupid hitboxes and so much more
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣 I went against a few last night. You are not lying! That man has prio like craaaaaazy LMAO. That comment cracked me up so hard, thank you.
@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 np m8 , its fun that my pain amuses you 🤣
(We both felt that pain so its even better)
Imo multiversous has some priorities to fix ... but when they finish fixing the basics like server issues , lag , inpossible character grind , NOT HAVING ALL CHARACTERS UNLOCKED IN LOCAL , noot having online mode and bla bla bla
Then they should focus on game play like , speed , FIXING PRIORITY AND HITBOXES , making dodge actually work 😂
Then they can add characters cuz people will actually enjoy what they are playing
It feels like a huge disadvantage to play heavy characters like garnet , cuz your literraly a punching bag that cant escape a simple combo because dodging doesnt work 😂
Baby steps i guess
Yea, for sure there are more important things than my sanity I'll be patient on my wishlist. 😂
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 word
How do you beat Taz for real it's just endless spam
Two words: HYPER ARMOR.
thank me later
No, i know how to deal with them, but i dont want to put up with it, imma just quit the game tbh
All this advice is good and all but first performance needs to improve. Timings is different between matches so it's hard to apply stuff you are trying to practice. Lab and rifts are not the same.
No, ive never had this issue personally as i picked up on the dodge system pretty well
or just parry
guys im so sorry.
i just try random things and if it keeps working i continue to do it.
my winrate is 80%
Well fuck
No, stop get the fuck in lab and try someone else because you are not sorry
U not sorry
TLDR: skill issue.
So i gotta ask, why combos exist? I mean, with how hard fighting games are, one of the most complicated thing are the combos, and even then youre not guaranteed to with with those stupid ovecomplicated combos
Also, i hate frame data
Speaking of combos, there's also fighting ganes where those are overcomplicated, like the Tekken series
I mean, what the heck does the star mean
Tekken is also like that, you don't really use any complex combos unless you're having fun. High level/pro play will continue to use simple ones that work. (even if it looks complex)
Stuff like combo trials in games like Tekken/Street fighter are just for fun. No one really uses those combos to play the game. If I can get 50 DMG doing a simple combo or 60 doing a complex one, unless you're showing off you'll do the simple one.
I'm trying to remember which stars you're talking about in Tekken. 🤔 Maybe I can explain more.
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 well, i guess there's only one way to get better: that is to Git Gud
First step: Delete the game
Truthfully, I'm a spammer. I spam my wonder woman air side attack to get ringouts. My intentions are that i spam until it doesn't work in my mmr/rating and then slowly transition out of it. I'm sure there's better strats to improving but i like learning while seeing wins. Sue me. Lmao
It takes three minutes in the lab to just learn some moves, you're using the most broken character in the game and admitting to spamming, like fuck off lmao get better
I dont even know if the game has MMR to be honest
It does.
Bro acting like you can’t spam a combo to get an infinite
Game is trash frfr
Taz tornado isn't a super armor attack. It takes one hit to put him out of it. You'll confuse players by calling it one, it's not even one by technicality.
There's a huge difference between super armor and trading because the game lacks good hitboxes or a priority system. Armor break is not going to help against Taz tornado spammers because there is no armor to break.
I don't spam with bannana guard, i just be spacin yalls out lmao
@@ExoticZah You signed up to play a fighting game, and everything that comes with it. If you lose to a spammer youre even worse than them.
To be fair the game does make it difficult at times to doge or counter the spammed move. It’s no different with people camping or running around with a shotgun In COD. The creators caters to make the game somewhat playable even for the worst of players .
@@Okami400 Okay still doesn’t make it less corny? And I dog walk most of my opponents, top 100 Marvin. It doesn’t matter if I win or lose against a spammer, it’s still an unfun and corny play style. Sorry not sorry.
