3 VERY legit gripes. Definitely agree. I will say that the tubed tyres and small tank you buy into. The fragile seat screw is an inexcusable mistake. They should have fixed that immediately within a year. But they still haven’t.
If you are able to find a T120 tank from a scrapped motorcycle through ebay or something else you can use that to increase your range, as long as the Tank is from a liquid cooled model they are fully interchangeable.
As a solo rider I have always just used the rack for the back seat . I know you don't have that but it might be cheaper in the short run . It is held down with three screws separate from the back seat housing so it is very strong ..I hope you find the larger bench seat as comfortable as the original . I also wish the tank was larger ..I have the older 2017 Street Scrambler with the lower 53 hp engine tune so I am getting 56 MPG on low test fuel .I love it and find the 5 speed just fine . (Great ) I average 160 to 170 miles to the tank ... All the best ,,
I have the same first two issues with my Thruxton RS. Tubed spoked wheels and as soon as my low fuel light goes on I freak and have to stop for gas at around 90 miles. My wife has the street twin 900 with the 5 speed transmission and I hate it! You're all right there.
Thank you for an honest review, I have the exact same bike and I Fkn Love it. I removed the rear seat and put in the rack and I also put on the rear luggage rack as well. Big Triumph Side bag and rack, Windshield and heated handgrips. I also installed Heat Shield on the centre side pipes cover. I am short so my leg is hard up against the pipes and it gets hot for me. All the best to you. David....Adelaide...Aust....
I think I addressed it in a different video, but it's something I've just learned to accept since it's an issue on so many "ADV" styled bikes now. I did find a rack system that allows you to run two saddlebags but the offset looks really goofy to me. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video I agree with your complaints. Curious how you fixed your back seat issue I also stripped the bolt on mine and have the same issue!
Thank for watching! I put the metal piece back where it goes in the seat then used JB-weld to repair the broken plastic around it. It worked fine, but wasn't necessarily good as new, so I also ran a strap from SW-Motech under the seat rails and over the seat to have it attached in 2 different ways. That combo worked flawlessly.
Agree. I bought the 2024 Speed 900 (street twin). Wanted tubeless. Since I rarely hit major highways (interstate) the 5 speed works ok for me. Rarely moving over 65 mph. Because I ride very long distances and lower speed (lower rpm) my mileage is awesome. Calculated range to empty 200 miles. Approx. I’m converting metric to imperial. I live in Canada. In metric terms. My light comes on around 215 Kms and I have gone to fill up finding I have used 8 litres or roughly 2 US gallons. Loving the 900.
You should really look into some of the cat delete exhaust systems for this bike. I think british customs makes one for the scrambler that sounds great.
I've removed my rear tyre on my tyre machine.. I had a massive nail, and it left few wires poking inside the tyre that would damage the new tube.. removing it was hard on the machine so doing it with hand tools would be really hard,I don't think it would be possible without making a mess of the paint.. I'd also like tubeless, but for now it'll do..
If you are going to go to all the hassle of changing the wheels, why not go for tubeless spoked wheels? Check out Nathanthepostman's Scrambler 400 he fitted with tubeless spoked wheels for his recent trip to Iceland. It looked fantastic. I have seen 900 scramblers with T100 gas tanks fitted which are slightly larger. LIND Motorcycles do a Fat Tank custom which ups it to 14.5L. Can't argue against the 5 speed gearbox. It really should be a 6! Great content, subbed! All the best, Alan.
I actually prefer the look of mag wheels. I have my eye on some pretty amazing ones. I think they will fit the bike great. I may consider a tank swap later down the line if it grows more annoying. Thanks for watching! I appreciate your support!
The fuel consumption and 5 soeed tranny really icks me, i have 2023 version just like you, and i can tell you those MPG are bollocks, 90 miles before the reserve fuel light comes on, and i am just like you, with 12 liter gas tank, i am nkt taking no chances 😂 especially if triumph lies about cinsumption, based on their specs, i shouldnt be getting a low fuel light anywhere close to 120 miles, but i get it bellow 100, and that rear seat screw is some dog$#1t engineering, i bought the bike not even a year old and mine was already broken when i bought it. Also those spoked rimms, extreamly low quality, they cost thousand dollar a piece to replace (yes a thousand) and they bend if you look at them the wrong way, they were bent when i bought it and had to replace the whole front, if you crash this thing, just tow it to the scrap yard 😂 i bought mine crashed, not a dramatic crash, some front impact at 30 km/h at most, nevertheless i had to swap the whole front. If you drop it, its gonna fold like some origami 😂 Another pet peeve is rust bike is one year old and i am already starting to see some, which is mind blowing for me. Dissapointing build quality on this bike, i had a Triumph Thun derbird 1600 from 2011 and that thing was LIGHTYEARS ahead in build quality.
I really hate that mine has a casting fault in the cylinders and looses fluid. It sitsat triumph to be fixed under warranty. Meanwhile they lent me a speed twin 900. very nice bike.
3 VERY legit gripes.
Definitely agree.

Yeah, simply making it out of metal would solve the issue. It's silly that they haven't. Thanks for watching!

Glad you agree. I definitely plan to have the wheels swapped by winter. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!

Totally on board with you re. tube tyres. I was surprised that you didn't mention the pipes. One saddlebag seems imbalanced.

Thanks for the video, thanks for the outlook and attitude- I subscribed and I’ll be watching - Happy Riding!
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate the support and kind words!

That is pretty solid! Thanks for watching!
I have the street twin seat and a bench seat for two up. I also agree with you with the gas mileage you get on the bike.

I agree. I love the bike but you'r right.
woah, can you link to that bike you showed with the mag wheels?
