Use drop pods that can carry mechs or smaller tanks so that u can invade with no control in the airspace.
That's a REALLY interesting idea. It would have to have built in AA defense for sure.

As the creator of the spider tanks, I honestly really enjoyed taking that Maverick to the face. I hope everyone else did too. :D

Shake n Blake l l have a feeling that this time TAPE will win. This mostly because of Fighter Jet showdown. The fighters sent to TAPE to fight off Beardy are the resoult of continuous adaptation in an arm race to be the best of the best.
Also TAPE has yet to have his advance stopped the same way Beardy did twice.
I don't know, Tape has taken less losses than Penguin but he has also been pacing his assaults out a little more, he maybe one turn ahead at most right now.
Penguin however has a tech advantage right now thanks to the stealth frigate, TAPE doesn't have a counter to that at this point, plus Penguin is better defended around Source and has in general been leaving more defenses behind while TAPE has been putting more into development and a larger assault force.
It really depends on how the last planetary systems go before we can say if anyone has a lead. If someone can take the next set of planets and start attacking the other in earnest then that will start setting the pace of the war.
MaximusLight For now TAPE owns 1 more planet than Penguin. So he seems to have an advantage in expansion rate.
Penguin, you do realize you are basically Protogen with that stealth ship
PAC-3 missiles are a mixture of systems. A ground based radar guides it near the target then it's own internal radar takes over.

I made those, and I'm super glad someone is enjoying them. :D Yes, I have plans for bigger and meaner ones, as well as other biologically-inspired craft, but I don't know if Beardy will use them. As far as I know, all "NPC" ground craft will remain static--There's no AI to handle ground movement, only the shooting.

That stealth ship is SO beautiful!
I like your U-boat like harassment tactics. You could add another cloaked torpedo ship for a huge amount of devastation.
Problem is, stealth ships are horrendously expensive and they only really work as first-strike weapons. I need to build up my conventional navy before I continue to develop more specialised warships.

I enjoy this series, and I might be a bit late, but I wanted to say this. Perhaps the Imperium should be a bit like The Japanese Empire. A die for their Emperor Imperium. And your ships should be named similar to Covenant ones. A few suggestions: Emperor's Eye, Angelic Broadsword, King's Crown, Priest's Staff, etc. Just cool or sinister names for a sinister empire.
you should make a new rule about salvaging. if you manage to disable a ship you could mount the weapons and other parts that are still on that ship on your own ships for free? it would have to be balanced but it might be a cool new strategy

Hi, it's the trash talking Imperium military advisor again here
2 things this time:
1. Beardy you need to find a better way of dealing with aircraft as you seem to always struggle in this aspect
2. Iss Fortitude
From what I see all weapons point forewards and the weak points are all at the back. In this aspect I cannot complain or find any fault. However any angling at the front of the ship would increase armour effectiveness and missle defence as more of the explosion vents into space. Maybe future ships could be shaped more like an arrow head
The strait line towards the enemy tactic is probably the best for this ship, just remember to space out your ships when in combat

Uh... those planes and in particular the Liberator's are more than likely the best dogfighting planes in KSP with this set of mods, that's not something he can help, overwhelming numbers was the smart thing to do. If it were me and even if the Liberators where the invaders as well I would still use more planes than the enemy to ensure victory, better than risking it on an even fight.
Ah yes - the old Soviet Doctrine: "Quantity has a Quality all it's own." :D
1.a To deal with aircraft, aim to have double the number of aircraft. The more numbers you have, the less likely you are to suffer attrition.
1.b If legal, consider making an armored "heavy" fighter plane with a rear turret.
2. Consider making all future spacecraft assymetrically wedge shaped. This would increase the odds that projectiles, recoil, and RCS adjustments would cause spontaneous drift, which would decrease the odds of torpedoes being able to make direct hits.
I totally agree with the wedge shape. Not only does it look cool but if increases armour as well as bounce chance

Could be good to have some capture ships to secure enemy disabled ships. Wish that Anubis could have captured that frigate...
Would have been useful to board and get prisoners for intel. But it's possible that the damage taken by the missiles also knocked out the life support and killed the crew. Beardy wasn't specific about that. And it may be too much trouble to write rules for that sort of thing anyway.

something to note on the tradition of naming vessels. a classification is named after the first vessel manufactured and launched from it's birth. in 19:44 your classification by standard (earth naval classification) would be fortitude class. just saying, not a criticism.

You guys should really get some new missilesIt kinda seems wrong using cold war/modern war missiles, but being like 5000 years after today, where Missiles, should/would be faster/more maneuverable/harder to jam/ more accurate
I don't mean you have to do a mod for it or download a mod for it.
Just modify existing ones, which they have shown to be capable of, like making a AMRAAM Boost time to 30sec, burnout speed at high alt being at around 2000m/s and make it pull up to 25g's
the reason the missiles are like this is so they are not completely overpowered and render all other weapons useless

How are you able to play BD Armory without Physics Range Extender? I also noticed no insane shadow-flickering when you have multiple vessels touched down and another vessel in flight. Any guidance you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks!
PRE is super glitchy so we just upped the physics range manually by editing the physics.cfg file in the KSP directory.
I have no idea what might cause the shadow-flickering you're talking about though. We are in 1.3.1 so if you're in 1.4 that might be why.

You need infantry, maybe a certain building after you destroy a bases defenses will require a certain amount of a certain type of lethal infantry to take over. Maybe drop pods, the larger slower type that can hover in after defenses are destroyed and open up some ramps, and act as a rudementary
(Accidentally finished comment gonna finish here): defense, the more herbals in a base the more you need to take over? Maybe a one use per planet super soldier who is very expensive, and has his own personal small Frolov quick drop pods with cloak from turrets, and can instantly take over a base but if he does he dies for good and he can only be used once per turn. ( or she) Maybe a giant ship that requires a special carrier, and it lands far away from a base and bombards it with a ton of cruise missiles, and is expensive to restock.
Quantity has a quality of its own, after all.

OK so i have no clue if ill get an answer here but i downloaded the Craft Building pack from the link but every time i try to use any radar in the game it say something like "Requires EC". Ive been using this mod for a while and ive never gotten this message so can anyone tell me whats going on?
EC is electricity. It's just the stock elec resource, so generate that however you want.

Ok, my only problem with this series is that it is turn based, and thus, whoever goes first (penguin) has the initiative and ability to attack better planets before tape can get to them as well as attack tape himself before he can do anything about it, it seems a little unbalanced. aside from that i do love the vids and appreciate all the effort you guys put into making them.
Wonder if Take and Beardy will open a dialogue for peace for a while. At least while they continue to expand. It would more prudent to spend resources taking world's in the outer system then start a war which would require a redeployment form your current forces. Enter a state of cold war kinda like Earth and Mars in the Expanse.
They're both doing that already - unofficially of course. Atm the game is to see who can capture planets the fastest and the most efficiently before they are forced to turn on eachother.

true, but you can also use a shotgun as a sniper rifle (as a metaphor not literally) having some howitzers or missile launching craft wouldn't be the worst idea for post attack for the tanks.

No, we fixed that in a recent update. Download and install the current modpack, then replace the 105mm turrets on any craft that have them.
