We have lost many of the 1960's and 1970's musicians who left a huge imprint on music that determined the direction of music forever. Soon, we will not have any of them left to carry-on the music they made. Let's hope future musicians will take opportunities to keep these iconic songs alive. Rest in peace Jack, Felix, and Leslie. Remembering Mountain !
A great song, beautifully performed by a magnificent artist. R.I.P.
I'm ajmost 72, so I lived through his career. One of a kind. The full package. Iconic. An era gone by, that will never comes this way again. Just the nostalgic whines of an old man........I don't think so !!
i agree. class, soul. i invite you to this: Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale, live in Denmark 2006
@@kulesa And Conquistador!
R.I.P also Pete Brown (d. 19 May 2023), poet, who wrote this together with Jack Bruce (like so many other songs). What a loss. Now climbing the Rope Ladder To The Moon...
Music was written by Jack?
Yes, of course ❤
RIP to Felix Pappalardi as well. He sang an awesome incredible version of this song with Mountain. He also produced the Cream records.
We all know he was a phenomenal bassist but what a hugely underrated songwriter! If Elton John had written this it would have been number one for a hundred weeks and sold millions. A true musical giant.
I agree by 100%
Totally agree ! Technically however the lyrics were by Pete Brown!
@@quentincrisp6933 Thanks for the info.
Couldn't agree more!!!
Pete Brown was his songwriter.
A consummate musician. Great bassist, great vocalist, great keyboard player and great songwriter. A Swiss Army knife. Sadly these days are over and will never been seen again.
Hopefully not.
Happy Birthday Jack
You are not forgotten.
Your music lives on in all of our hearts
This just brings tears to my eyes no matter what version I listen to. It's such a beautiful song.
Jack Bruce was one of the bassists that inspired me to finally learn to play bass in my 60s. He was a unique talent.
Jack Bruce war ein großartiger Sänger und Bassist
This song gives me the shivers up the back.
Definitely, I know what you mean
My absolute favourite version of this song :'-) we played it at Dad's funeral and at his tribute show. Miss you Dad🌹
Jack was and is my favorite artist ever!!! Listened to his music (all his albums) from very early on til this day. Noone did it like he did. His voice, his musical ideas, his sound, his creativity.
🙏🏼❤️

A choir in the second half of this song would be crazy!
Great musician, singer, and songwriter.
Mountain with Leslie West also did a cool version of the song. And the guitar solo was just phenomenal and sublime.

Can you hear L. West?Somewhere!
The gawd Leslie west
Beautiful, powerful...it should have been Jack that continued on into Blind Faith instead of Baker...that would have been a monster group...Bruce, Winwood, Clapton...maybe AI will give us a chance to see what might have been if only...
Why not Baker AND Bruce?
Cos ginger baker was an absolute tosser
Sicuramente non suonano lo stesso strumento
Incredible talent and song writer extraordinare.
