I also love their music, but I know a number of people having a reason for hating them. It ain't fun to listen to hard rock if you have to because it's in a school book. We had to listen to one of their songs at eight o'clock thirty and if you want to sleep, this music makes it much harder. It didn't affect me because I used to sleep while listening to music like Green Day, RHCP or Nickelback, but I knew a lot of angry people. It was in a book used in Germany so lots of pupils listened to this.

I can only answer your questions from my point. I really love rock and metal. Plus i'm playing bass and guitar. So I think I've got a pretty good knowledge of this type of music. My main problem with Nikelback is that all the songs sound pretty much the same. The lyrics are good and obviously Chad has a great voice. But the guitars are just the same in all the songs and the bass and drums too.

And #4 maybe because you're too young to remember when it was considered totally uncool to listen to post-grunge. Nickelback gets shat on because of how mediocre they are and the fact that their songs rarely take risks, which made them easy pickings for advertising teams in the past. Honestly, they are so mediocre and soulless that it bothers me less than some Kesha kind of bullshit that I hate. At least all of Kesha's songs don't sound like slightly different versions of each other. This is the Nickelback formula: slow intro talking about shit life. It gets faster DUN DUN DUN I DID THIS AND THIS THEY ARE THIS chorus and then it goes like that till the end with more prominent background singing in the latter stages.

Nckelback is only hated because the radio played their music to death and places like freaking Office Max continue to play it to this day.
