I got a new tarantula today from a shop that didn't even have water in the tank for her; because they didn't know anything about her. Sold her to me for $10 because I knew more about them then they did. She's the sweetest thing but kickes hair a lot- but- weirdly; I don't see nor feel any hairs coming off. I think she's bad at it. Anyways, they're cute when they angrily kick hair
Ikr I once had a Brachypelma Emilia from a pet store and it did try to kick hairs sometimes but I never saw them or got them on my skin so I'm guessing she didn't really scratch her butt that well
People find it cute and funny. But in reality it can cause scarring in your lungs, make your skin bleed, and even make you go permanently blind. Just by being around it.
I just got my first tarantula a couple weeks ago. I got a G.rosea. :) She was the best handling one in my local exotics shop, she's as tame as a puppy but she's a little skittish when you try to get her out her faunarium. They're fascinating little things. I think she might be one of the phobia curing tarantulas. Lol ;)
@@michellekahlez2105 Get a docile species like the curly hair or pink toe. They can tolerate handling. But if you want a pet that you can hold like very often, don't get a tarantula. I'll only handle mine for pictures, sometimes for friends, and when I have to deep clean her tank.
@@michellekahlez2105 Just, please, do a lot of research before buying one. I spent many many nights awake doing research on these things before I got one.
Mine just did this for the first time about five seconds ago. I've only had her for about a week, she's just a juvenile. I've never owned a tarantula before so I'm kinda just learning the ropes. She got a bit tetchy because I tried to feed her when she wasn't hungry and I wouldn't take a hint lol. At least she's keeping me right. Nothing says "Fuck off" quite like a face full of razor sharp hairs. Thankfully she didn't hit me lol. I think she may have been aiming for the locust.
I have recently gotten into the hobby. Crazy how addictive it can be. I had a similar experience that you had, but it was curly hair. I only bough it because of the deal and it I felt bad. This guy I work with has 72 Ts currently and after getting mine, learning a lot from him, it's been a month, I now own 6 and I can't wait for repticon.
I have arachnofobia... and I still find that spider gorgeous. I think it has something to do with little spider having pointy legs, and this one having stubby, legs covered with hair.
Well not really every tarantula has its temperament but the species are considered docile of aggressive by the way that the majority of spiders from a specie behave. Well this one is scared easily but will never bite me and it is well fed every creature on this planet has a mind of its own.
Ive had my b.boemei sling for about a week now... I swear she has behaviour issues. Loves kicking hairs, and somehow manages to turn her hide upside down!
@@michellekahlez2105 No regrets, these species are usually very docile, despite that, every creature has its own temperament, while its little and its growing, with time you will see what temperament it has and how it reacts to you :) .
Well Rose Hairs tend to have frequent Eating disorders and thus grow very slow. perfect T is a Brachypelma Vegans which is cheap most of the Brachypelmas are cheap and Rose hairs are calm but if you ever get bitten they have stronger poison than the Brachypelma ones if a Brachypelma bit you it could be like a bee bite but a rose hair maybe a trippe bee bite or more .
@glamnails4u Most Of the Brachypelma's and Grammostolla's are very good for beginners I recommend Brachypelma Vegans and Brachypelma Albopilosum or Grammostolla Pulchra for first spider Pulchras are expensive but quite beautiful and docile
If you r new to the hobby i suggest you get urself a brachypelma albopilosum they r the most docile tarantulas also grammostola pulchra not pulchripes, avicularia versicolor is docile but sometimes jumps so u need to be careful not to play with her on high ground
Theres not really docile tarantulas. Temperaments change after molts. And holding them is a serious problem ot causes them distress and no matter how nice they seems. U keep holding them they will bite.
It's hardly any "pain". It's more uncomfortable for a couple hours.I usually just wash my hands after my flicks at me and I usually don't feel it much after that.
If you wash your hands after getting hairs (and don't rub your skin just let the water run over you) can it prevent itching and burning sensation. I'm asking because I just got this species, and it's my first spider. He the size of a 50 cent coin and there a bald spot on his back from the stress of being shipped to the pet store. I HATE Spiders an ill admit its because I am petrified of them however, this i really cool to see and that they do that for a way to defend themselves from predators. If this is your spider and you recorded this thank you so much!! This made me shiver
they don't have eating disorders, some rose hairs just tend to fast more than other Tarantulas. I have a rose hair my self and she does fast for 3 weeks maybe every 3 months, and after that she eats like hell! :)
@glamnails4u hey! i just got my first 2 Ts today. another good beginner is the pink zebra beauty. i have a PZB n a curly hair. shes a bit skittish as she is just over an inch n a half in leg span. but as the grow they become very calm n chill. they will kick hairs tho just like the b smithi. (i know ive already gotten them at me lmao) all in all tho shes a good T. just a bit stressed from her over night trip. i do hear tho that PZBs r a bit harder to come by somtime but well worth the look :)

What species was the tarantula? Probably no hair on the girl because of how stressed it was with those uninformed employees

Very educational. I didn't expect the hairs to fly into the air like that
I only expected maybe one or two hairs, but man they really kick out a ton don't they? Very beautiful specimen :)
I like how all these people that absolutely know nothing about tarantulas. Those Hairs can mess you up
Yup I heard that when the hairs get on a part of your body they itch like hell until it hurts.

epicsauceness100 i would think that unless those hairs would be possibly deadly if it gets into your lungs
iJoonaGamingNinja They aren't deadly, just irritating.
Puka Je No, they won't kill you if you breath them in. They would probably make it difficult to breath, but they aren't venomous.
epicsauceness100 Not at all it makes you cough a bit and sneeze at most-
Sehcturc _ Mostly it makes you itchy ... Do not touch your eyes before washing with soap
Cutest tarantula ever. Looks so graceful coming off the hand. And like a dog kicking off hairs!
This spider should be in the Tarantula beauty contest!

why am i laughing at this JAHAHAHAHSHSHAHHS

scariest thing about this video is that phone
RIGHT??
i only watched this because my school book said tranchulas "use there hairs like daggers", i thought it would use its hair like little swords :'c

Poop Poop ok?
Capitan Suzy haaa haaa haaa you're dumb you can't spell!

Nice job positioning the desk lamp and turning the camera to see all the hairs suspended in the air like that!
Awww, i find it kinda cute when the spider just kick x3 i thought it would be like spikes they kick...but thats just....alittle hair :p
nice vid, good demonstration + cute spider :)
For those who don’t know, those hairs are like pure fiberglass. If it gets in your eyes or you breathe it in, you’re immediately in trouble
Perfect lighting to see the hairs flick up like that. nornaly you cant see that with the naked eye
