I think (i may be mistaken since I havent rewatched the show in full in a while) that Joffrey still has respect for his "father" King Robert, so he was punishing people for essentially talking shit about Robert in a song. For all Roberts faults, he still is seen as strong king who was a great warrior, etc, which is what Joffrey wants to see himself as.
I will always stand up for Mirri Maaz Duur. One, it's a fantastic performance by Mia Soteriou. Two, she's quite right. Remember the title they gave to the son? 'The stallion that mounts the world'. That word mount can mean ride, as in, 'The cowboy mounted his horse and rode into the sunset'. But when you're talking about a male horse and a female horse, it can be translated into something much cruder. From her point of view, she just killed baby Hitler. And she gave no riddles. Daenerys is a dreamer just like many Targaryens. That's why she said she wanted the life of the witch. She had dreamed she needed 3 sacrifices to reborn the dragons. Khal Drogo her son and the witch. She revived the dragons after 100 years and more

Tywin does not care about Tyrion. He put him in the vanguard in the battle against the North, when he is no soldier, because he wants him killed. He appoints him as Hand of the King, when the last two hands have been murdered, because he wants him killed. He wanted Catelyn to release with when she had him captured only because it made the "family" look weak, but if he can get rid of him without weakening the Lannister House he will do it. Thats who Tywin is. Thats the kind of person, and father, Tywin Lannister is. And a small correction: Jon is still going North of the Wall as the Lord Commander's steward. He will be there with him and the rangers, but he's not going as a warrior, he is going as a "maid" hahah Also, you guys didn't seem to notice but you should recognize the smith apprentice thats travelling with Arya.
Tywin has no love for Tyrion but recognizes him as superior to Cersei or anyone else in handling Joffrey. Tyrion is the only member of the family who has ever stood up to Joffrey. One of the traits that makes Tywin an effective leader is that he is able to put his personal feelings aside to achieve a goal and right now he very much needs to check the excesses of Joffrey.
I think you're right about Tywin not caring about Tyrion but he's not sending Tyrion to be killed. Now that Jamie has been captured and there's a possibility that he may die, Tyrion is the only son he has left with his intellect as Cersei is an Idiot.

what always confuses me when it comes to GoT is how many people seem to mistake khal drogo and his dothraki for good guys i don't wanna know how many people they killed, raped and enslaved.... if you do that to people you don't have to be surprised if some will take their payback if they get their chance.. so yeah, drogo had it coming... the "witch" was perfectly justified for what she did, especially in a world like the one in GoT.. imagine celebrating a woman who got taken everything from her being burned... it's also fantastic how people romanticize drogo's and dany's relationship... drogo is fun to watch as a char in a fantasy show, but from a human standpoint he was absolute trash
