STOP Using the Microwave | What Cooking in the Microwave Does to Food

  • A microwave might be an easy way to make a meal when you don’t feel like cooking, but it’s also an easy way to ruin the food you eat.
    In this video, I cover why you should stop microwaving food immediately, and what eating microwaved food does to your body.
    Using plastics, especially in the microwave, can cause microplastics to enter into your food. For this reason, I recommend sticking to glass containers in the microwave and covering them with a paper towel.

    I agree with what you said, as far as when you said that a person who willingly chooses to microwave their own food to heat it up, but when I’m a guest in others home and they insist on heating the food that they serve me, that really ticks me off. Omg please understand that good fat is essential to a healthy diet. I use only clarified butter (easy to make from butter). I have fat with every meal. I am totally healthy. Here's what I do. I am keto/veg. Saturated fat, butter (160 C), clarified butter (220 C), red meat, eggs, nuts, vegetables, fruit. No wheat, bread, cereal, pasta, rice. No sugar. No artificial sugar of any kind. Only sweeten with fruits. Cacao Nibs. Only eat once a day. Fast (only water and minerals) 2 or 3 or 5 or 7 or sometimes 14 days. If 3+ days, cell repair will occur. Absolute cancer killer (lack of sugar, keto, so on). No processed foods - No E number chemicals. No sources of Aluminum!! Only whole foods. Works a charm!! NO $medications$, $drugs$, $vaccines$!!! They are designed to keep you sick! Oh and turn off your lie box TV and other mainstream sources of $brain washing$ $propaganda$.

    Microwave is just another way of heating things. Heating food destroys some of the nutrients, regardless of cooking it on a stove or in a microwave. Think about it, what is heating? heating means making the molecules vibrate faster. Now, these vibration can come in the form of micro waves or can come from fire or a hot surface.

    • @ShaferHart
      @ShaferHart 5 місяців тому

      that's reassuring for you, don't do anything about it since you don't want to, but microwaves use radiation to produce that vibration and heat. It's not the same as this video clearly shows. It's also suspicious how they don't seem interested in finding out if they cause any long lasting damage (we do know about cataracts so something does leak from them). They really would sell us poison for as long as they're allowed to so it's up to us to reduce our attack surface as much as possible.

    The cooking method that best retains nutrients is one that cooks quickly, heats food for the shortest amount of time, and uses as little liquid as possible. Microwaving meets those criteria.

      Hi, I am a minimalist and didn't own a microwave for a long time (and actually requested one last year for christmas since we have a kid and I wanted to reheat coffee almost daily but am reconsidering it, thus here I am).
      Here are some things that immensely helped when I didn't have a microwave:
      - own a cup sized tiny pot. 250-300 mls. You will find it useful for also making hot chockolate but reheating tea and coffee or milk are the primary uses of a microwave for me
      - own stainless steel pots that are dishwasher safe, this is another big motivator for the microwave since microwaving on a plate means less "pots" to clean. If you have full stainless steel including handle just pop it in the dishwasher as a bowl after heating your food and you're good
      - as he mentioned, add water to most foods. I spray water into microwave for moisture for most foods and the stove is no different. Add a good amount of water to your pasta or rice or reheated food. Also don't fear olive oil.
      - for ovens again, spray your old dried up croissants or bread and other pastry with water then pop em in for a few minutes and they'll be soft and fluffy and fresh seeming. My oven took too long to warm which was my bummer. Some things are more even in the microwave than on the oven but ultimately all were possible I just wanted constant adding heat to my coffee 😅

    What are the effects of microwaves in comparison to boiling? Stove top? Convection oven?
    It seems youve only compared to steaming, which we already know is the healthiest way to cook

    • @nickvenendaal
      @nickvenendaal Рік тому

      i came across a comparison, but it only was for one nutrient, the allicin in garlic. So it might not say much about other nutrients. Nevertheless, for this nutrient they compared 1 minute of stir-frying with 6 minutes of boiling and with 15 minutes of simmering.
      the 1 minute stir-frying and/or microwaving was the worse and destroyed all of this compound.
      the other two also broke down the allicin, but to a lower degree. At least there was some of the compound left after the cooking.
      so microwaving and stir-frying seem to be on par when it comes to destroying (this specific) nutrients, but boiling and simmering seem to be better then microwaving and stir-frying.

      I don't touch corn at all. GMO. Round Up (glyphosate poison). If you do pop corn, only use saturated fat such as clarified butter and don't overheat! I do not use microwave for anything! All oils have a smoke point so you can only regulate this with conventional regulated temperatures. A microwave (2.4Ghz) will heat oils on pin points (along the standing wave energy) to sever temperatures that make oils into trans fats instantly. Throw away your microwave now. My mad cooking experiments lead to this horrible realisation.

    I used a meter and new microwave. I was at dangerous level until I was completely out of the kitchen. This is professional equipment. I was stunned. Please understand that the IEEE safety level is for burns only (heating). That is of no help. We are electrical and our nerves get triggered by microwaves at lower levels of V/m. 2.4Ghz means cm wavelengths so military uses this against enemies to make them really confused / sick / or instant heart attack, so don't take this lightly. Cataracts happen in two very different ways: Direct energy from towers or phones to your eyes. The other is by glycation of your food. That is basically super heating sugar + fat (of microwaved food) which then damages your blood vessels and also cataracts. Now that we have comms at higher 66 GHz, although can't penetrate trees eg. The use of higher powers and directed "antennas" (phased coherence beaming), this energy can be so bad for health (and wartime use against soft targets).

Me and my electronic friends used to burn up Leads and CFL lights and metal coils and electronic equipment in the microwave for fun. I tell ya, now that I have completely change my eating to opposite to the lies from food industry, I am soooo healthy and only eat once a day. That is when my physics and electronics and mad food science came to an amazing ah ha moment. Everything came together. A microwave is on or off ( or full on for 15 secs and full off for 15 secs at 50% power level). During the on cycle it is blasting uncontrolled energy and point heating to dangerous temperatures. Food should never reach those temps and should always be less than the worse oil you are using. Yep, you cannot have health with a microwave in your house. Sledge hammer anyone?

    • @braria9855
      @braria9855 5 місяців тому

      Induction heats based on magnetic energy so it's ultimately still heat but not so widespread into area than it would be with gas. Gas actually polluted air as a side effect so induction is better. Imo it technically works a bit worse for food since the heat goes pretty clearly from the bottom+sides not being everywhere around but you learn to use it. It's amazing for stuff like crepes or tortillas that are perfectly symmetrical though. I don't love it for reheating foods since it takes longer to heat the middle of broccoli or meat pieces, needs a good amount of extra water and stirring but it's usable. I got a microwave last year for this reason + reheating coffee and now I'm unsure of that decision 😅

      Bad idea, really, really bad. I had a bowl snap into 3 pieces...

    Dr Livingood , Is it bad to warm up my coffee with half n half in a coffee cup

    • @coriebarnes8680
      @coriebarnes8680 5 місяців тому

      Yes. I warm coffee ☕ and tea 🍵 in a stainless steel pot on the stove. It takes 5 minutes to get it hot, not boiling. So not much more time than a microwave. And better for my health so it's worth the extra few minutes. If I have half and half in the cup then I will stir it occasionally. I've discovered that it tastes so much better than when I used to microwave it. 😋

    Remember, no things with bread in the microwave! They get soggy and nasty!
    Also, avoid microwaving non ground meats. Doing so often results in said meat taking on weird textures (becoming "rubbery" for instance).
    The best use case for the microwave (in my experience) is reheating leftovers that are mostly pasta and sauce based.
    Do put the bowl near the edge of the platter though, it'll pass through more standing waves and help reduce the (incredibly IRRITATING) thing where the food isn't evenly cooked (cold sections).

      electric or gas is good. Don't over heat your cooking oil, keep flame lower setting or keep electrical at lower setting. NO Microwave! It turns cooking oil into trans fat and ruins the food.

      Toasting bread has minimal influence on its nutritional content. I mean the whole point is to release EMFs. As long as you aren't in the line of sight of the microwave you won't get the radiation. And standing in sunlight has harmful UV radiation so you might as well not stand in that either.
