Astonishing interview really. Crewe play nice football but lack penetration up front. Literally didn’t force Okwonkwo into a single save in 100 minutes. Norefereeing decision on this game changes that. Outplayed from start to end. Small squad so a bad run was inevitable but you need to be up front about that and not BS fans or moan about officials when the latter is wholly unjustified. Let’s be clear, I’m no fan of McClean but Rowe wiped him out in a position where he didn’t even need to make a tackle let alone a body check. He didn’t run “into” Mullin. Mullin did his usual dummy on high balls and was on his way past him when he tried to hold him back; failed and grabbed at the ball. No shove at all. Again, it’s on the video. One advantage of being a Wrexham fan is there’s no shortage of camera angles so you can argue about it all day long but our cameras show you’re 100% wrong. Mullin would have been through so it was the denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity and, again, both officials could not possibly have had a better view. Don’t like seeing reds in any game but there was never any doubt on that and you’ll note that the ref doesn’t even consult on it. They both saw it and the dismissal was immediate for a reason. Another senior player absent for forthcoming matches. An emergency Goal keeper and barely a first fully fit 11. As much as I would love a trip to Wembley, injuries to key players, suspensions, selling your best centre half for a generation and losing the best loanee player we had all adds up to bad luck and I don't expect we'll have enough to achieve promotion this season. If anything, a defeat at Colchester would be the ironic icing on the cake, that would sum up our season.
