Those kinds of shots were invented accidentally like in a fluke made by a novice. Then true geniuses like Efren and Pagulayan tries everything to duplicate a fluke until they perfect it and later on used in serious games.
@@mohamadalsahmarani9965 i dont rly give a damn about that id love to play with pro like that.. id learn so much and id get to play once on while when he miss the break or get snookered
I think it makes the most sense and explains what's amazing about it if you call it the Alex Pagulayan double jump shot. Or impossible double jump shot.
I started playing pool when I turned 40. I've been keeping notes from being a very poor player to mediocre with the thought of sharing my journey. After seeing Rollie, I think my tag line should be, "hello, I'm not Rollie and I'm not your average pool player." Love your videos. Thank you for sharing!
Here’s an idea for a video. Interview the great players. Then show them their famous shots and ask them, at that moment what was going through their mind. I really want to know how they think
Now try this, same style shot except as a bank. Bank the object ball into the rail, it jumps off the rail and over a blocker ball into the pocket. Taught to my by Jerry Breiseth a few years ago. A passer by told Jerry it was impossible and bet Jerry $20. Jerry made it first try.
Tip: The angle of the cue stick will tell how high the cue ball will jump when you stroke it to the center downwards, so you must analyze the distance between the object ball and the cue ball. The center of reference is the cue ball the angle of the cue stick is equal to the hit on the object ball...
Imagine if Efren and Alex had a game of killer, it would last days I think. This shot is on another level, in the type of pool I play we can't jump the cue ball intentionally. Jumping the object ball too is just ridiculous. Alex seems like a nice guy too, like almost every Canadian I've ever met.
when I watched the shot for the first time I though Alex was just try to get position for the 8 ball, then I found out the 14 did not pass the 1 my mind was blowed
Totally random question. I just got a new kamui tip on my cue (professionally I’m too bad to do it) and was wondering can I shape the tip w a cuetec tip tool ?
Hey Rollie been watching your stuff for a long time. Would you ever be up to meet for a couple games and a couple lessons? I’m hitting my plateau and would love to learn some better tricks to improve with
Great vids. Love the in depth look and breakdown of each shot you cover. You also get to meet all these great pros. I've met a few playing the joss tour tourneys at snookers in R.I.
The trick with jumping is practice. I didnt actually know there was such a thing as a jumping cue? I can jump the ball with my shitty cues and you just have to practice until you find the best angle that works the most times

He needs to understand that you can inject MASS into a shot without increasing the speed. One way to do it is to grip the cue a little tight but there's the risk of generating a "punchy" stroke. The trick to this shot is to generate enough mass upon contact to trigger the hop. Then, with a smooth enough but relatively moderate speed cue action, he'll be able to generate enough down spin on the cue ball to draw it back. With this shot, a long "pull back" isn't necessary because you don't need the cue ball to go fast. You just need weight to trigger the hop. The same goes for the follow through because there's only so much distance available. If one can understand how "injecting mass" into a cue ball works, the number of lines you can play will greatly increase. Your kicking game will increase drastically too because knowing how to control mass will greatly open up more kicking routes, not to mention greater consistency in running the same kicking paths.
Alex seems like such a friendly and genuine guy. Bless him
Meeting Efren should be the final boss quest
Absolutely
Exactly
Hes scared to go to the ghettos to meet the humble Efren
That's should be fun
@@mikeserrano734 that's pretty stereotypical and derogatory

Ok, I started shooting pool thirty years ago and I've watched pros on tv and I never knew until now that this is possible.

he hit it 5 times in a row!
No Name Just incredible.. I mean its just insane how good you can be as a Professional Pool Player
Marco Guadagno Yeah But at some point normal People won’t play with you anymore so you are stuck in a pool hall playing alone sipping that Jack

This is by far my favorite of what Rollie has tried so far. Shows there is like a super computer attached to these pros' minds.
3:13 The guy in the background is learning almost as much as Rollie is.
Dan from the slowmo guys?
Hahaha 5:13 "when I look at the shot, you know one of those moments" -average player "No I've never had that feeling" 😂
Title: IMPOSSIBLE
Him: nails it 5 times in a row
wtf!?
*(what's that face)* lol
is it weird that i enjoy this channel so much even tho i don't play pool?
TeK me too. 😂
Yes
same here fellaz.. i just came across this channel today and i have already watched 8 videos Lol
Please get into the nearest pool centre asap.
Same here lol!

WTH! I’ve played for years, but never seen anyone do that before... New skillset to learn!!!

I've been a sub for a long time.i gotta say your channel just level up leaps and bounds.congrats!
Alex is my favorite pool player, I loved meeting him in Chattanooga Tennessee years ago. Super humble guy.
Pagulayan is an absolute legend of the game, super impressed that you got to hang out with him dude 👍
Alex is like a "Tito" (uncle in Filipino) who tries to speak fluent english but ends up having an accent. Hahaha
Actually true lol
He is filipino-canadian.
Gilbert Amoguis I know but he is an immigrant.
@John doue Quebec Pretty much
I see what you did there. Jokoy reference
This is one of my favorite shots ever.
4:50, sound like Alex is crying
He was proud hahaha
I remember seeing this guy on TSN in the 90's and saying to myself he's the best player I've ever seen.
This for me is the most impressive shot of the series. I didn't even know about this sort of shot, what a legend to do this in a ranking tournament.
I did not know this kind of a shot was voluntarily possible. Amazing!!!
Here’s an idea for a video. Interview the great players. Then show them their famous shots and ask them, at that moment what was going through their mind. I really want to know how they think
Pagulayan's goal: to put some more draw in it
Rollie's goal: to just make the shot
My goal: to hit the cue ball without getting a foul
I've never seen a shot like this! Incredible!
when will you meet efren? :D
Hes scared to go the ghettos to meet the humble efren
This is a great shot. I can do it too now, but had no idea about it until I saw this video.

This opens up a lot of possibilities.
One of my top 5 pool players in the world
You may think this is a low percentage shot, but this world champ here made it 5 out of 5 times..
I think they play different percentages
Once you master it, it's not that hard of a shot. I can jump it 5 out of 5 too
Its really insane doing those shot during tournament ...
Nice... keep it up plz m8 I love your video's your really are teaching all of us by showing us the tips and tricks the world can learn from you
I wonder how many times it would’ve taken you to make it without his help... that shot is nuts
I want him to do his shots without any help at all either from the computer or from people.

I showed a guy this shot once and his response was "probably never come up in a real game". In the 3 years since I've used it about 10 times
Wow this is the first time i see this kind of shot.
Alex seems like such a cool guy tbh
Love your videos
I just saw the previous lion video and here's your upload
Alex Pagulayan seems like a really nice dude.
I found this shot in match from 1988, so this is old school skills ;)

I do like your behaviour but you gotta put a smile with someone like alex pagulayan , laugh with him..enjoy the great moments you have with this star.
Alex is one of the coolest pros to record with, and it slightly enfuriates me that rollie is so straightfaced haha
Is he jumping with a playing cue or a jumping cue because it looks like a standard cue stick? I struggle so much with trying to jump
The trick with jumping is practice. I didnt actually know there was such a thing as a jumping cue? I can jump the ball with my shitty cues and you just have to practice until you find the best angle that works the most times

And the trick with practice is room owners don’t like seeing you put a ton of dents in their cloth.

What pool hall is that? It doesn’t look like Society?
Awesome sir just awesome
Best shot i think....beesstt

This skill is very common in pool but you need to get more basic skill then practice this jump skill will be easy.
And to do that in a tournament . Wow
