Miminari is one of the best albums that have ever graced my ears, well fucking constructed, guitar play is amazing, everything is just fucking golden. So in my opinion if you wanna get into them listen to Miminari.

Haha this is so wrong. I mean, I love Tsushimamire, but Chatmonchy is clearly and without a single doubt the best and most significant all-girl Japanese rock band out there. Of course they are not as flashy and crazy as some other bands (hence the "sub par" initial impression), but their songwriting is unparalleled. In fact they are one of the greatest rock bands ever, regardless of gender and nationality.
This is an old comment but it definitely shows, 9 years later, how influential Chatmonchy is to all-girl Japanese rock bands. Nearly all of them list Chatmonchy as an influence and after their retirement, there's so many comparisons to Chatmonchy even now
I think it's not a coincidence that I would call them both my favorite band. Consistency, passion, humbleness, dedication to their art, relevance, talent, they have it all. They are worth so h more than the sad pissing contest going on below...
