Hello! Today I have gone through my kitchen and also reorganized my pots and pans as we seem not to entertain as much with CVD19. For now, I am bringing the everyday pots to the front and the larger pans to the back.
Im decluttering Covid😁! It’s been in my house for more than a week now, time to kick it out….
Hopefully the isolating and cleaning are/were the worst part of it and symptoms were/are mild. That was the case in my house over new year’s 😜

I decluttered my whole office while waiting for my 2 year old to fall asleep - now I have a huge mountain of old parenting magazines and a little mountain of office stuff that I want to donate/ gift to anybody who might need it 😍
It made me sad when you said the kids had moved out and weren't coming back- my two have gone to University and I miss them terribly. Watching your videos as an incentive to make this flat lovely for their return! Thanks for your great videos. xx

I have decluttered for 15 minutes in the entry in zone 1 today 😊 Last week I went through stacks of my nemesis, papers 😰, and burned lots of empty cardboard boxes (from more than 1 year ago) 😬

A great video to remind me to declutter a little each week. I have had a happy Monday morning cleaning with Gallia my cleaning lady. We did some zone work including the 2 verandas as well as a weekly homeblessing. I fitted two new toilet seats, 1 yesterday and the other today and cooked meals for 3 days plus a huge pot of vegetable soup. There will be plenty of food to put into the freezer. It has been a very satisfying day with a little drive to the sea this afternoon.
Tomorrow will be an easy day for me. I will do some planning , care for my disabled husband then will probably head out after lunch.

I love that you were able to buy apartments for your children.
Sorting out bathroom drawers. Found way too many cosmetic brushes so picked my favorites and donated the rest. I had ordered some divider trays for the drawers and then discovered that my plastic disposable refrigerator boxes first perfectly (4x6) so canceled my purchase and used those. Looks great and no extra money was spent. RA Ra RA!

This was a great video that explained the zones nicely. Thank you for the refresher and ideas of what to declutter. It’s great to know when you release things, other people will get to enjoy them. My goal this year is to add pampering to my agenda. I tend to forget so I think I need a written reminder for self care. I love that you created and showed us how to do that. I also like how you stress the importance of self care. I have had serious health issues and I’m finally recovering.

I was struck by your comment that you have bought your childrens' apartments and that they are for life...could you explain that concept at some point? Maybe you could dedicate a video to certain societal things that are done in your country that may be new to us? That would be interesting.

Very inspiring! I did Flylady for years, but never did the zone cleaning. I am going to add them in this year. I really like the restock and declutter and projects that you added.
I do a zone check every Recycling night, in addition to my zone week. I load for donation drop off On Tuesdays. We dropped the metals and cardboard off this morning after the gym.Congrats for your trip. I will see mine grands in April , it has been years as well! Your good china is very beautiful.

Great video Diane. Enjoy your trip to Scotland, I too am travelling back from Australia to visit my family in Scotland in April (all being well). I decluttered my home interior magazines. I've always found it hard to let go of these but I gradually went from keeping 1 year (12 magazines) to 6 months and now 3 months, all thanks to your great Flylady tips.
Is it customary in Denmark to buy your children's housing once they reach College age? Is it like a gift that you give to your adult children? And if they get married they can choose to still live there or not? Just thought that was interesting as that's not typically done here in the United States.
Still going strong with the de-cluttering one-a-day for the most part and shopping from my house when I want to decorate for the most part, but mostly my decorations these days are live plants and it's so much fun! Especially because now I have room for some since the Clutter is gone! Have a fun and safe trip when you go!!
Oh! My favorite chocolates are the orange and strawberry creams too! And our DD21 loves the toffees🤗🍫🍬🍓 Maybe your DD would like the dark blue candles too bc they look a bit T4ish
I was also confused because I thought she said they were apartments and here in NJ you just rent apartments not own them for life. Also in the states most kids come back to the house during breaks throughout the 4 years of college.

I like the tip on being consistent with the cleaning and decluttering and eventually the whole house will be decluttered! Of course it's ongoing but you don't have to empty your whole house at once!

Your squirrel was so cute and different than ours. Their little furry ears and the red color are different. Your stained tea towels look much better than most of the ones I use. I should buy better ones.

Diane, I've copied your idea of buying tea towels as souvenirs. It works out well since they do wear out frequently. The other thing I buy on trips is clothes at thrift shops. I like to explore new thrift shops and it gives me something to look for. I keep a list of clothing items I need or that need replacing.
So lovely to see your beautiful mom with you in today’s video!!💖. I am working in zone 1 today but am also decluttering throughout my house. We have a blizzard here today, I have shoveled one hour already to lighten the load when it’s over tonight. Tomorrow is dropping down to the low minus twenties so best to keep at it while it’s warmer. Thank you again for your encouragement!!

Great reminder so I declutter little bits as I work the zones. We stock up food for our cyclone/wet season at this time of year, then I'll use our pantry stock over winter (May-Jul).

I have gotten rid of a couple of things lately, and write in a couple of things! I’ve gotten some trash and paper recycling out. There’s a bunch of paper sorting I need to do, and some things that I’ve sorted out that need to get donated somewhere. Just need to do that I guess! Restrictions or no restrictions, there are options. ❤️✨ Maybe my secondary type three (dyt; T1) can help me there?

I wish we had a bottle recycle system here.... They had machines in Turkey and you put your bottle in and got a voucher... all spendable. Hope you had a brilliant time with your Scottish family.

Great motivation! So funny you mentioned decluttering empty jars, I can’t seem to ever get rid of them, they’re everywhere!
I do nothing. I have a cold, or a flu, or maybe even covid (do not think so), but I freeze and my whole face is clogged, my head aches. Tea, tea, and more tea, and staying out of the way of DH and DD who work and go to school at home.

I'm so glad that you and your family are finally able to visit with your Mum. Have a wonderful time. We have a charity service that comes and picks up anything we are donating. We just bag and label them and sit them out on the scheduled pick-up day. There are also donation sites you can take things to if you don't want to schedule a pickup.

Thank you Diane. I appreciate your efforts. I feel renewed to declutter this year and have been rewatching some of yours and the VERY old FlyLady ones from 2011. Wow! I like yours because I can relate so much to you. You and I are the same age and my kids are moved on too. Now I just have to convince hubby to let go of some of our things....any ideas?? Years ago I could declutter without any concern, he really didn't notice. But he is home and works from our home...makes life interesting, eh?

I think its fun to see your ears as a type 1. We see them more in your style today.
We have the same sort of recycling for bottles/cans in Oregon. We pay $0.10 extra when we buy them and then get it back upon return. The kids love to gather recycling to make extra money! I found it interesting that Denmark sorts recycling by type…assuming the charge based on the part is different rather than a flat charge? I love how eco-friendly it is in Europe! 🌍 🌎 🌏
