For anyone starting this game: you can actually gain a ninjutsu point and start racking up more points in the second shrine of the second mission. It's the one that's next to the gate and the ladder shortcut. If you went through everything and looted all items at that point you should have five gunpowder bombs. Equip the bombs in one of your item slot then run up to the guy that always spawns in front of the hut just a few steps from the shrine. Throw the first two bombs at him then see if he blocks. If he does, wait til he stops blocking before lobbing the rest. If he doesn't, keep throwing. It might take a second respawn to use all five bombs, but hitting that poor guy with all five will net you one ninjtsu point. Use that to unlock the bomb skill. Now you have unlimited bombs to keep farming that guy. This is a great farming spot not just because he's almost next to a shrine and alone. He also drops a ton of useful items, including salt, leather cords, and rarely the gyosha hand axe and the smithing text for sohaya garb and sohaya armor. The latter is a nice starter set with useful bonuses, though you need the jawbone material from gakis to craft it. Alternatively, you can level up and allocate stats to meet the requirements for the sohaya gear that drops from our bombing victim.
I'm just starting, didn't play first game, huge Souls fan, but am SO overwhelmed right now w/all the different mechanics, builds, skills, etc. Hoping watching this guide a few times will get me past the hump - I really want to play (and enjoy/complete) this game! Thanks for making this video.
Mate I feel you. I'm exactly same. Iv got adhd so this is just so over the top overwhelming n I can't take it in atm. Iv literally got pen n pad out so I can write shit down because Jesus christ I can't take it in. But I want to as a big souls fan. The game feels good quality but just a bit too much
Best guide I've found. I really suck at these masochore games - nerve damage in my hands doesn't help - but this one really helped. Just got the game yesterday so I haven't gotten far at all but I at least feel a bit more prepared. Keep up the good work matey
Don’t let the tryhards fool you, being amazing at these games can suck royally. The real reward is conquering the difficult journey. As a mediocre soulsborne player I get to enjoy those games for the slog they are. If you suck at them, you are the person the designers made the game for!
thanks for the video. First game was somehow friendly for newbies. There they throw you everything at ones especially the first oni in beginning first mission
For Yatsu-No-Kami, actually, don't attack his arms before dark realm. Just attack his head. After he creates the dark realm, immediately use Mezuki's Yokai ability. This will instantly kill two small snakes.
So I just bought the game, and I can't lie, Enenra, the second main boss filtered me. I plan on trying again soon, but I deleted my character. I see the depth and enjoyment, but I just gotta push to get to it first. Edit: Snake boss had me in my feelings. When I won, it did not feel like a win haha
@@Snuggglebunny controls are way overcomplicated and the game has a very high learning curve. I throughly enjoyed the 1st one but the 2nd I couldn’t get used to this one.
I tried it for the first time and thought I'd never enjoy it, but I came back a day later and after getting used to the controls I really starting having fun.
Yeah idk maybe this game isn’t for me, it looks really cool and seems like a lot of fun but I’m struggling to just kill the monkey in the place where your stamina regens slower to make it to the first boss
Hey man, I've just started as well. I was about to quit. I've been rinsing the first level over and over to level up and get some items and get familiar with the mechanics. It has helped a lot. Keep going mate!!
I disagree with your assessment on the sword. I beat the game release week and put it down. Having the season pass, I decided to pick it back up. I saw some high level sword game play, so I decided to try it out. Breaking Ki on yokai is rough and sword only really starts to shine when you get access to its active skills. I wouldn't recommend it to someone starting the game.
I agree. I also think that the axe is a much better starting weapon than the sword precisely because it hits hard and has a very predictable ki pulse timing. Also, the sub missions grant a ton of exp and loot, particularly the one with the bird boss, which will reward you with several corruption weapons. So newbies like me should definitely do those as rhey open up instead of going directly to main missions.
@@iatwiatw I think the best starter weapon is the Kusarigama. I know most people will disagree because of its stamina consumption, but its ability to break horns and its impressive ki damage made it invaluable in my first playthrough.
@@nordicwookie4776 hehe - yes(ja)..😁 guess what, now i have been playing it for an additional 20+ hours since then.. think I will complete it this time 👍
Very complicated game to start.. Still dont understand A lot... Why cant apply skill points... Why different icons on skill.. Why. Needs dojo etc... When use spirit and how to New spirit redy
I am here because this 2nd large chellenge, shouldn't be things like this at begining, difficulty lvl should gradually increase.. Edit: i did it i killed this bastard. I wish i have same motivation in rl for work as i have had to defet Enki....

So proud I beat the first miniboss. Only took me an hour haha! Thanks for the video, really useful!!
Then the next boss came🤦♂️
Thank you for this extremely helpful video!

Picking this back up after years of not playing, and was completely lost lol. Was trying to figure out why I was running tonfa and hatchets

Really nice tip! Most players have that equipped at that point anyway - however if the skill misses a new player is in for a world of hurt :D

Thanks man! Subscribed! I hope you get lots more subs now because PlayStation plus just gave us this game 👍
Something wonky happened around 2:50... Source video is fine, so I'm guessing it was a UA-cam issue? No idea how to fix it though :)
