This is the best camera for photography, but the minute it comes to video it doesn't suffice me in two important area that made me move to Lumix S5II. One I can't use it with full size HDMI cable (Yes, I know you can use an adapter, and I've used them and break them many many times for the past 8 years - the mini to full size HDMI in 5D Mark III and IV, and 7D Mark II then they made it even worse by going with micro HDMI cable which in their mirrorless cameras). The second biiiig issue is not allow internal recording whenever you output signal to HDMI or having some wired choice to make whenever you output signal to the HDMI, blacking out the display or not being able to record internally. That's so weird to me. I know some will tell me to buy video cameras, and my answer to that is I have video cameras and I'm running a business that end of the day need to make profit. One usecase that it always happen is the need to extra cameras when doing live coverage, automatically for that one situation only makes this camera a-photography-camera-only, while if I'm using other brands I can simply use my main photography cameras to support my video cameras rather than renting extra video cameras and leave R6 with no use. I know I'm ranting and I'm sorry but I with Canon could decide to remove those barrier that it's only for financial reason, because they're not there in R5 which is 3000k+ camera, while other manufacture don't have those limitations in half the price cameras.
These are really valid reasons and I understand how you feel. Great to have read your concerns about this camera as well. I love to read what others feel about products they buy with their own month and this one is thoughtful to read. Thank you.
I just got mine today!
That's awesome to know, Travis. Can't wait to read or watch your experience with it. Onwards we go!
