Glad to see this feature coming out after so long. As a controller player myself, this is a very welcome addition. While controller players might be a small portion of the current playerbase, the accessibility opens the game up to a wider audience and a bigger market.
@@DaMu24 When I was playing for a bit in 2022 I was using a program to convert to keyboard, antimicro. Was also using DS4windows to get my DS4 controller to properly connect. Xbox controller would probably need less work imo. But the main thing is the program, its really robust and allows you to basically get pretty complex with it to free up button space.
14:26 not normally a controller guy (i get PTSD flashbacks to Dungeon Fighter Live's control scheme, and that was a console game) but it's nice to see more than just the bare minimum being done in this update

I recently started playing DFO for the first time and I love the game but I wish it had controller support of some sort. Along with the abbility to completely hide the chats at all times. The reason that I wish it had controller support is because for me, a 'WASD' and mouse player, the controls on keyboard for the game are extremely confusing for me, "X to attack" and "C to jump" (correct me if i'm wrong, I sometimes get them mixed up and attack instead of jumping and vice versa when I'm playing the game) are very confusing for me. I understand that it's a different from other games, it has its own mechanisms and controls but I feel like it would be easier for certain players if it had controller support. I'm willing to wait for as long as needed but it is something I'd love to see implemented in the game one day, among with the abbility to hide both chats that pop up in lobby at all times. (To hide both chats not only in dungeons but in lobby too).
I've gotten too used to the keyboard. I use WASD for movement. QE for abilities (You can put up to 4 each with the 4 directions). Then the number pad for other hotkeys. Space for jump. I would have to re-train my muscle memory. Controller support is still great for people that want it.
Hi, New player here, does this mean QE replaced the ZX default? Like you have to press w+q for an ability if the previous before was up+z? Idk how else you can replace 4-8 skills
@@DBellBoi you're talking about Dungeon Fighter LIVE: Fall Of Hendon Myre. That was pretty much a beta and nowhere near as marketed as DFO is now. The following they've gained over the years now allows them to properly achieve their original desired goal.
New player here, I was actually just thinking about this a few days ago, because I was thinking that fundamentally it wouldn't be that hard to transition to a controller since, at least at the point that I'm at, there's only really 3 keys I need to use for combat-1 for standard attacks, 1 for secondary attacks/skill inputs, and 1 for items/certain support skills. I use command inputs for moves, but it's nice that button combinations are there for those who use individual keys!

Trying to bind certain shortcuts to controller was kind of a nightmare as certain stuff wouldn't short-cut or bind to certain buttons anymore.
I'm grateful for the upcoming controller support but I would like to leave a suggestion to implement the cross hotkeys function, it visually helps a lot on remembering the skills.
I find controller much more enjoyable than KB and M. Being an and old school players growing up on Street Fighter and playing many fighters as well this is an very welcome addition! Plug and Play is nice but this new feature is a game changer for controller players. I cant play DFO any other way and THANK YOU for putting so much work into this!
jaajajaj they use the same as my "xxxx" software something that will help alot is having another row for shortcuts so ppl with keyboard and new to gamepad can see less confused and ez to hotkeys the buttons
Was trying to buy some avatar items from the CERA shop, but it keeps telling me my "account privilege does not meet the CERA shop requirements" What do I need to do?
My feedback for DFO is that there is a lot of content/qol that we are missing from kdnf, bakal is already out and dragoon still doesnt have his rework. Make the danjin's special emblem selection box have emblem boxes inside, so if you can give two different characters an emblem. Also an emblem transfer item to transfer emblems from tradable rare avatars to untradable rare clone avatars would be great

How was controller even possible in DFO before? Did you have to use a program to convert to keyboard?
@@DaMu24 Yeah either programs like Joy2Key or, like me, I played through Steam and Steam's seamless controller support for any game.

I've been playing DFO since the old version and have always used a controller. I am loving everything I'm seeing in this video.
