Watching this has me rethinking my plan of bike touring through Europe laden with panniers. Maybe I should just rent a caravan and bring a road bike instead. This series of videos are absolutely stunning and so beautifully done. Thanks so much for doing these. I'm getting so antsy to get started. Cheers!
I lovethe comment about the Peyresourde enriching your soul. I find my soul enriched each time I swing my leg over the bike. One day my life will slow down enough for me to get some daily soul enrichment (that's the goal , at least;))
Wow the landscape looks so quiet and vast and sort of relatively untroubled by human influence (hard to find the right words as a non-native speaker), watching this makes me feel a very strong sense of wanderlust. Amazing!
Did it several times. Did the full Luchon-Bayonne in July. Going back there next summer. More friends are coming this time thanks to your videos! Every time I watch it it brings me back there. ;) I'd like love to see the one on Pailheres though, the most beautiful climb I did, after the Stelvio.
Thanks again Mike. I did this climb last summer during two weeks in the Pyrenees and it was one of many favourites. Your video was a wonderful way to relive the euphoria and inner peace that rides like this bring.
Another incredible video! Getting notified of new videos from your series has become a weekly highlight. How amazing it would be to do a climb like this. Thanks for sharing.
Simply awesome...a true inspiration Mike Cotty ...the description for your suffering in 38*C reminded me of my rides back at home (India) ... But doing that with climb is even more killing...Beautiful video and great motivation.. Cheers!!
Instants sub! Great work! I was there as a teen, but I was t into cycling then. I'm going to going back to ride it soon. Thanks for the amazing videos! Keep it up.
Awesome, I found that it gave the video a bit more of a complete feel. Without any shots of a descent or a clear finish, it becomes slightly anticlimactic, but the addition of a simple descent shot eliminates that and wraps up the videos really nicely.
Agree! We don't have descending shots for all climbs as we had a super tight time schedule but it certainly adds an extra element that we really like so will do our best with what we have and in the future. M
Another great video. I've done it several times & it's worth noting that, if it's hot,as you go through some of the villages (Garin in particular) the heat reflects back off the walls at the edge of the road & turn it into a furnace
Hey Mike, really nice videos like always, but a question : will you do a video about the beautiful Port de Balès from Mauléon-Barousse in the Pyrénées ?
I lived what you enjoy and live Mike Cotty ...Not in exact way... you are a mad mad climber... I just cycled from Aberystwyth to Great Yarmouth...across UK... 326 miles...not that bad since we did it in 4 days so 80 miles approx a day...Have done a few 120 miler and 190 milers within a day before...But this was surreal...in terms of soaking in the beauty of the UK countryside....Had some Cat 4 and Cat 3 climbs ...but nothing as compared to what you do...Would love to do them one day...Just sharing my journey...Cheers!!
As always, great filming, music and well put together... Mike, what are the numbers on your cassette and chain ring? Do you ride a compact? Keep up the great stuff Mike...
Thanks Scott. For this climb I rode a 34x25. I'll fit a 28 if it's really steep. I'm a huge advocate of compact gearing. It really suits my higher cadence. All the best, Mike
Thank for your fast answer Mike But at the beginning of all your video, you have a map which shows the climb... Maybe its all separate shapefile (.shp) that you can combine...

Ha! Unleash the road bike Brent, these mountains have your name all over them! Stay well and ride safe. Mike

Mike, what a beautiful video. Your best in my opinion. Keep it up and ride safe!
Thank you, super happy you enjoyed it. The Peyresourde is a special place for sure!

Fantastic, that is exactly the essence we hoped to capture. So wonderful to hear! :-)

It's such a beautiful climb, the Pyrenees are full of peace and tranquility, that's why we love them so much. Ride safe, Mike
Beautiful film, again Mike. Many thanks.
This one's near the top of my list; hopefully this September.
September is a great month to ride it. The Pyrenees are so quiet and welcoming at that time of the year! Enjoy!
I love the happy vibe with the music selection and sun glared shots. Very good editing. Good work Mike and team!
Chasing Cornfields Thank you, very happy you're enjoying the happy vibes! That's what cycling is all about :-)
Another incredible video! Getting notified of new videos from your series has become a weekly highlight. How amazing it would be to do a climb like this. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Wayne, we've got a few more vids in the pipeline, hopefully they'll keep you smiling!
That road surface looks divine...smooooooth.
Awesome ride, awesome camera work, another gem Mike, keep up the great work!!
Cheers Kev, happy you're enjoying the series! Mike

Thank you Rahul, truly appreciate your support and kind words. Mike

Loved the shots of the descent near the ned of the video, would love to see more of those in future videos!
We were testing a few different things out last year, if we know you like it then we'll look to incorporate more like this in the future. Cheers. M

Excellent advice, thanks so much for sharing! Mike

Fantastic views!
That's a beauty so Green. Looks quiet too not much traffic.
Magnificent!
It's a lovely descent into Luchon.
As I sit in a baltic Edinburgh with gales, snow and sleet this just reminds me that will get out soon..ah well back to the turbo
Hope this makes the turbo a little easier for you!
Sensational !! Looking forward to getting over to Europe in 2016 and attempting some of the smaller col's,.
Roll on 2016!!
I did the 2007 etappe du tour....will never forget. EPIC
King of the climb
always great video
@Pierrick Bloch We've done the Port de Bales from Luchon, video in progress. Of course we'd like to cover every climb from every side! 😉
Mike Cotty Nice, your videos are really wonderful, love them
France country side is unbelievably beautiful
Thank you mate ;)
Wish I got these kind of routes to cycle here :(
We will see!

Rahul Kotabage Awesome! Absolutely love hearing about your journey. So cool and big respect! Mike
A close up shot with Mike in the small ring?? I didn't even think he needed one on his bike.
Ha! Oh I definitely need the little ring Drew! Spin to win :-)
As always, great filming, music and well put together... Mike, what are the numbers on your cassette and chain ring? Do you ride a compact?

Nice video again !
Do you have a KML file (google earth) with all your climbs ?
Glad you liked it! That's a good idea, at the mo we don't have those files, something to consider for the future perhaps. Stay well. Mike
Thank for your fast answer Mike
But at the beginning of all your video, you have a map which shows the climb...
Maybe its all separate shapefile (.shp) that you can combine...
If you have these files available, I could do a project with Google Fusion Table and share it with you
Cyr Alexandre Or your Garmin GPS file
They are movie files or jpg's. The GPS files aren't so accurate as we have to stop and repeat several sections each time. Any suggestions?
hi:) how is called the last song from this video?
Do you usually ride on the big chain-ring?
Sensational !! Looking forward to getting over to Europe in 2016 and attempting some of the smaller col's,.
You're in for a treat when you do Nick!
