    cant believe as experienced as this guy is that he is putting both legs under a a trailer held up by a scissor jack!! Nice build though man ! Even a high end scissor jack is not dependable enough for me to trust my legs under there, only get 2 of those ya know :P

    Beautiful build. Great ideas for our build. Ours definitely won't be to this level, none less great build and lots of ideas. One question, do you weight the trailers prebuild and post build minus and toys?

    Did you mount your fresh water tank on the wall? That’s a lot of weight and especially when the trailer is moving it will be slushing around?

    • @hensley-homes
      @hensley-homes  6 місяців тому +2

      Yes, but it has bracing all around it that keeps it against the wall. Just hanging it without bracing isn't a great idea.

    can you please do a video on how you did the metal on the under belly of the trailer?and does it effect the wood at all?

  • @PlagelsGarden
    @PlagelsGarden 29 днів тому

    I’m curious why you use staples on the walls? Seems like a high quality build, I usually hear people complain about staples in rvs. I am just curious not trying to make a judgement.

  • @Nomad33fw58FS
    @Nomad33fw58FS 6 місяців тому +2

    You do nice work, but what is the weight of the trailer when this is completed? I would think that building the cabinets out of 80/20 and framing with metal would be much lighter. Also, what’s the R value of the insulation, it doesn’t seem very thick. Overall it much better build quality than any factory built RV.

    • @hensley-homes
      @hensley-homes  4 місяці тому +1

      The trailer weighs 6500 when it is finished, and each inch of insulation is 7R, so you end up with around 14R in the walls and 21R in the ceiling and back wall. Way better built than and RV. Customer has had it all over the Western US this summer. Not one issue.

    • @hensley-homes

      This trailer was pre owned by the customer. We can make most trailers work, but he prefers to order them with the specifications for what you are going to want to hall and what you would like in it. This unit including the trailer will run you around 75,000. Hope this helps!

    I was just curious on why you didn't glue the cedar strips to the ceiling along with the brads or Staples I thought possibly maybe is for if you had to go back and pull some down for repairs very nice work you've got a lot of labor hours in that but the finished product shows integrity of your building very nice.

      We got it off Amazon. Just make sure you order one that will work for the size of the TV you are using. Also you may have to drill different holes in the bracket so it will hit studs in the wall to secure it properly.

    You did a great job however the heavy materials used doesn't meet my needs. There are much lighter materials I will be using to build mine out this next summer. I also prefer a more industrial look and build for more use case scenarios, and the roof should be used to deploy solar panels.

  • @Connor37911

    Nice job. Pricey, but not if you consider that even a studio apartment in many places can rent for 2k per month.
    With the few other costs, like a spot to put it on or a tow vehicle, people living in one would come out ahead by 4-5 years or so, even if it costs 60-70k.
