He learned how to sing by watching television, listening to radio and singing karaoke, which FYI was invented by a Filipino inventor. That’s why Filipinos love singing. If I’m not mistaken majority in the Philippines have a karaoke machine in their homes. He was also singing English and Italian in this song, two languages that he doesn’t speak, because he was from a poor family and he didn’t have good education growing up. Despite that he can also sing Spanish song “Despacito”, Chinese “The Moon Represents My Heart”, and of course, Filipino languages. Despite his popularity and fame, he remains humble and supportive to his community. You’ll see what he does in his own UA-cam channel that I also subscribed to. Although most of his videos are in Filipino language, some of them I think has subtitles or you’ll get the gist of what’s happening.

In case you do not know about Marcelito's difficult life. Marcelito's father was incarcerated and his mother abandoned him on the streets and homeless at age 7. The streets were cruel and he was a child dealing with it. When he was afraid, he would sing to comfort himself. He also sang to the chickens when he would clean out their coups for a small amount of money. Yet, he remained a sweet, kind and loving person. He is so humble and, I believe that what makes him so incredible is not just his beautiful voice but, that he touches people's souls. The Prayer, his most famous song, reflects his life - asking God to give him a save place to be. Marcelito is a true inspiration and it is a miracle that he, as a child, survived what most adults wouldn't have. He sings from his heart.
Maybe that's why God has blessed him with such talent bc he didn't choose to be rebel or did not hate God after all those struggles that he been through.

Marcelito makes it easy because he can. He is a singing angel on earth. For me, this is his absolute masterpiece, something of crystal clear sung, the bright madness. I can't really think of a second person who can do it better.
Remember he's sitting throughout the song. Which makes hitting those notes even harder. Compression on the diaphragm makes breathing to hold & achieve the higher register is a challenge when sitting. This is a testament to his talent.
One of the many things that impresses me the most about Marcelito is that, in addition to his native language, he sings in English, Italian, Spanish, and Chinese. However, he isn't fluent in any of those other languages. I have listened to many reactions from people who are fluent in each of those languages and every one of them is amazed at how his diction is near perfect. What a blessing he is to the world.
