We had an old corn sheller we used also for shelling our black walnuts. Worked great to get that outer husk off...Your costume was very cool, even tho you were too hot with that cap.
Lovely old stone home. I like the stone homes better than brick homes. Stone homes have more character. You would have loved my brothers home on our old farm. They found a fireplace cooking chimney in the dining room and around the corner from it in the kitchen was an in the wall bake oven. It was so cool! He covered it all up with paneling tho, as they were doing a little remodel back then. The 2 main front bedrooms upstairs had 1 huge walk in closet accessible from both rooms. And next the the stairs was a small narrow door that opened to reveal the chimney., I remember there was an old birdcage in there on it's pedestal. And the other home on the farm we grew up in was from the early 1800's. Very nice old place. I sure do miss it!
Oh how lovely was that. Prefer the big. House, that tiny one would be claustrophobic. That was so good to look around. You sure enjoyed yourself. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
As I told Jon in his video of the house, this is a huge house where you can go to another part of it for vacation. If i lived there, id have a holiday party and make everyone dress in period clothes.
Yes. We even have some sections of the wooden pipes in our museum. It is the oldest gravity-fed water system in the US. Too bad I missed you two, I am usually on the front porch of the house greeting our visitors. Was home sick.😑
Hello cliff and John Cliff that costume really suits you fine great video thank you for taking us along some really cool stuff there until next time stay safe take care love from upstate New York❤😊🐄🐖🐓
Love the giant sycamore by the house, I always wonder if the house was built in that spot because of the tree. Or the tree was planted after the house.
We have a two-day Harvest Fair coming up in mid-September! I figured you'd like the log springhouse. I enjoy being in there during festivals. Unfortunately the water table changed during either the construction of the town sewer system or the 501 bypass. Opinions differ on that.
Great Vid as usual, Clif ! If I knew you guys were going to be there I would have showed up to say 'hello". I only live two miles from there at Buffalo Springs .
It's pretty amazing how far we've come technologically in three hundred years. Most of the advancements have been in the last 80 years.
I lived in Myerstown for 24 years and every year we would go to this ,now retired and live in Eastern Tennessee the last 6 years 🤠
I think it is great that you dressed for the occasion.

Schaefferstown supposedly is one of the first towns in America to use hollow log pipes, to pipe water underground, from the local spring.
