It’s so weird how his life sounds like any other dnd character someone might play
It is, I mean, some quite extraordinary things happened to him along the way, but his motivation to control and dominate is a flaw that is common in a lot of characters - albeit at a much lower level!
I am currently reading the story of Elminster and it is amaizing how similar he and Vecna start out. Losing parents by the hands of Wizards and planing to take revenge. Doing petty jobs while growing up before becoming a wizard them selfs.
Oh yes, he has a very interesting arc! I've got some of the Elminster books on my list to read actually
