I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
@James Brycen I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
In honor of this character, I shall now recite the entirety of his absolute best support conversation in the game. Saizo: ... Beruka: ... Saizo: ... Beruka: ... Saizo and Beruka attained support level C.
I think you missed a big point Mangs. Saizo IS IN FACT his actual name. The first son of every generation inherits the name as their own. That's how he gets into a fight with his son, Asugi.
And it may be late but his 'Pyrotechnics' skill is highly useful on lunatic... As long as you don't forget about it and trigger it accidentally causing a reload.
Mangs, Im' pretty sure that Saizo is actually his name, the older son always carries the name Saizo, and in Asugi's case, he chooses to change his name, or maybe it is because of different language translations
To all those shouting "but Lukas/Forsyth", please take note that they were not part of the Cain/Abel archetype before FE15. Forsyth was purple, not green, and was the calm and composed one while Lukas was the overexcitable one. It is one more thing changed in the remake to try to make it slightly less alien to the average FE fan, like Clair/Clive becoming a Clarine/Klein callback when neither was blonde in the original. Gaiden as a rule doesn't really have many archetypes, or at least the better-known playable ones. Mangs is entirely correct that Saizo/Kaze were the first non-Cavalier Cain/Abel duo.
Mae and Boey fit the achetype, to an extent. His robes were blue but he DID have green hair, so I GUESS you can give him a pass. Mae had red from the beginning, I think. They also possessed common parts of the archetype like being friends from before they joined and, to further cement it, joined at the same time (which, although they don't always do this, it's fairly common with notable ones being Sain and Kent and the original Cain and Abel).
Also, I think you may have given Saizo the short end of the stick when comparing him to Kagero and Kaze. For one, he is the only one of the three to be able to target enemy Resistance with reliable damage which gives him the advantage over a larger portion of enemies compared to the other two. And since you're going into Nohr in Birthright there will be a lot of Paladins and Generals, both of which usually have low Res but acceptable-fantastic Defense, which really helps. And his offensive growths really aren't too bad. Sure, he doesn't have Kagero's 70% Strength growth but 55% isn't too bad, and his Speed is pretty much fixed just by being a Ninja, so he still doubles most enemies while doing reliable damage, and that's not even mentioning debuffs and post-battle AoE damage. His bulk is pretty solid too. With a 50% Defense growth and a base of 9 and base 7 Res and 23 HP *and* his good-great avoidence he's a hard unit to take out. And like you said, his lower Res growth is made up for by almost always having a WT advantage. And with his high 80% Skill growth and the high accuracy of Hidden Weapons he'll almost always hit even if he's at a WT disadvantage. As you also said this lets him proc Lethality, Astra and Rend Heaven more reliably than most. Also thanks to his high Skill he gets a pretty high crit chance which can be monstrous when paired with Astra. Then as a Ninja he of course also has his passive damage, debuffs, Locktouch and high movement which I'm surprised you didn't really talk about in the Utility segment.
As always: Lord Sephiran/Duke Belsys/Supreme Prime Minister of Begnion/Lehran,former High Priest/King of Serenes Anna - going over every single appearance within the series for an >1hour spotlight.
When I played conquest on Lunatic, I had incredible RNG. In the map where saizo helps you, I managed to clear the map of enemies and keep saizo alive. His last target was the boss, and he hit a 3% crit with a 45% chance to hit. He truly avenged his father
"Kaze and Saizo are the first members of the Cain and Abel archetype who are not Cavaliers" Are you sure about that? Or is Gaiden finally been realized as not being a Fire Emblem Title?
I believe he's referring to Lukas and Forsyth, my man. And even then, Forsyth lacked the iconic Green armour of the Abel archetype and other features, so it's debatable. HOWEVER, there WAS a set of characters who did fit the bill: Mae and Boey. They kept the attire and general feel of the archetype (like prior knowledge of each other) and, to boot, joined at the same time.
Many say that Ryoma is the god of Birthright, but in truth, this title goes to Saizo. You get him very early on and has direct access to the best class (ninja), weapon (shuriken) and skill (replicate). Not only that, but he starts with C rank with shuriken and has an actual magic growth which makes him an effective flame shuriken user. 1-2 range without drawback which can target res or def just break the game.
Even if you say ninja is best, Kaze and Kagero are much better. Kaze has lots of res bulk and Kagero hits like a truck, capable of capping strength before promotion.
Flannnel Part of the reason why Ryoma is so busted are his base stats and skills, giving him incredible out if the box usability which Saizo doesn't have.
Saizo is actually his name, given to the first born of each generation of his clan. His father was named Saizo, he was named Saizo, and his son, Asugi, is named Saizo.
Ah, one of the few good fates characters. well... Now that I say this, Fates actually has a lot of really good characters if you ignore the ones with overdone jokes and/or tropes (such as Peri, Arthur, Camilla etc.). Also the story sometimes ruins characters (looking at you Xander).
IMO, Arthur should not be categorized with the likes of Peri. His gimmick is highly prevalent, but it does not drag characters down like Peri. In his case, I think it to be a more endearing gimmick. He has to deal with laughably unlucky situations daily, yet manages to stay strong throughout. In a land as dark and dreary as Nohr filled with equally as bleak people, he stands out. On top of that, we actually understand what he means by justice in his Beruka support, and it shows that he’s a genuinely nice person who perseveres in spite of his horrible luck and the state of his kingdom. We even get some backstory and character development in his support with Azura, and I love it dearly. He’s certainly not deep and a joke character for certain, but in his case I believe it is done well.
His birth name was Saizo the 5th. It was never implied that it wasn’t his name. Sure, Asugi exists, but it seems like his name was Saizo the 6th, but he changed it.
Great video Mangs! tbh i never use Saizo so i didnt know most of that, also id like to request Eliwood for a spotlight, hes a bad unit but a great and well written character.
Honestly kind of wished you talked abit about his support with Mozu. It's one of the few times where Saizo is actually friendly throughout the supports. It's incredibly sweet.
To be fair about Saizo It really isn't about being sociable it's about knowing how to get people to do what you like, like manipulate or just plain acting, either way most ninja's are good with emotions and feeling and getting people to do what you want
I think you are severely underrating Saizo as a unit. He is one of the top 5 units in Birthright. Birthright is a game with a high densitiy of not very powerful units, many of which have 1-2 range weapons, and Saizo is you best 1-2 range unit until Ryoma joins. Even after that, he still has access to the best weapon type in the game and remains useful for debuffing and poisoning. He is better than Kaze because Kaze is just not powerful enough to oneround many enemies and also lacks the defense to survive on enemy phase. Saizo is not as fast, but still fast enough to double most enemies with pair ups and other boosts.
Also, during the late-game, he's a great Spy Shuriken user. Since that weapon doesn't double, Saizo tends to do the most damage with it (although, pair-up attack, debuffs, and poison strike are what you're mainly using it for). And about half of the enemies at that stage of the game will most likely be doubled by Saizo.
May I suggest Lewyn as one of your future spotlights? He is easily one of the most interesting characters in the entire series, both as a person as well as a combat unit.
I always do like your Fire Emblem spotlights, not only very entertaining but also enlightening since I'm replying Fates again. As a suggestion, can we have a spotlight of Felicia perhaps?
In Gaiden, Forsyth didn't had his green attire like it does in Echoes, so I guess that's why he isn't considered. Funny enough Mae and Boey had red and green attires (somewhat) in Gaiden, which would kind of make them the Cain and Abel of Gaiden.

Saizo and Beruka attained support level C.
Best C support in Fates the writing is so emotional and engaging wow
Oscar worthy, Sir! God bless you and your glorious acting skills!
Mattew and Jaffar did it better (for all 3 supports)
Thank you Treehouse
At least they didn't fuck anything up.
I think you missed a big point Mangs. Saizo IS IN FACT his actual name. The first son of every generation inherits the name as their own. That's how he gets into a fight with his son, Asugi.

7:00 He is fought and possibly killed in Conquest, not Birthright. Aside from that splendidly done as always, keep up the good work.
Roses are red,

But terrorist ninjas,

Douglas Dragon yep
Saizo is the best saizo brother
Sorry green saizo
Mangs, Im' pretty sure that Saizo is actually his name, the older son always carries the name Saizo, and in Asugi's case, he chooses to change his name, or maybe it is because of different language translations
Carlangas LVDC Saizo the V, Asugi would be Saizo the VI
Probably a good thing he changed. Talking about this game would be kind of confusing if both are named Saizo.
To all those shouting "but Lukas/Forsyth", please take note that they were not part of the Cain/Abel archetype before FE15. Forsyth was purple, not green, and was the calm and composed one while Lukas was the overexcitable one. Saizo's boss battle dialogue against Kotaro is my favorite thing about fates, especially if he gets the kill
"I'll rewrite your poem"
"Birthright is the only route where he can perish if he is fought and killed in Ryoma's chapter".
Don't you mean Conquest?
Yeah, I mixed them up.
Also, I think you may have given Saizo the short end of the stick when comparing him to Kagero and Kaze. You made a mistake Mangs, it's Conquest where Saizo can be killed, not Birthright.
Inb4 reupload
Yeah I know
Mangs You still get 5 POINTS
Literally unwatchable.
Well technically he can be killed in Birthright if your name happens to be Mangs.
Maybe consider doing a spotlight on Noire in the future?
Yes! My fav child unti!
no
Aren't saizo and kaze non identical twins and came out first thus the title went to him
snowy leopard They are twins lol
These videos make me so happy to learn about different FE characters. Mangs this series is always amazing. Could you do a spotlight on Mia or Seth?
Saizo also reveals some of his history with Mozu as the two of them talk about fish and ways of cooking it

saizo makes a good butler so he can put that suprising mag growth to use healing and it makes his magic shuriken thingy even stronger

Mekkah's favorite character, no doubt.
"Kaze and Saizo are the first members of the Cain and Abel archetype who are not Cavaliers"
Are you sure about that? Or is Gaiden finally been realized as not being a Fire Emblem Title?
Python and Forsyth weren't Cain and Abels in Gaiden. That only happened in the remake, which was released after Fates.

You're still comparing him to Ryoma. The lobster is the king of Birthright by a landslide. Next would be Corrin
Even if you say ninja is best, Kaze and Kagero are much better. Kaze has lots of res bulk and Kagero hits like a truck, capable of capping strength before promotion.
Flannnel Part of the reason why
Ryoma is so busted are his base stats and skills, giving him incredible out if the box usability which Saizo doesn't have.
Saizo works wonders as Oni Chieftain and Grandmaster as well.
I got a stat-screwed corrin, kaze, kagero, and oboro. Saizo became one of my best units because of this.
Thanks for the video. I'm glad you touched on him!
Another amazing episode mangs. I love watching these episodes. It give more life to one of the series I truly love!
Your spotlight vids are amazing. Do more
7:03 it’s Conquest
Aside from that, great spotlight as always!
What about Lukas and Forsyth? I'm pretty sure they're a Cain/Abel archetype.
Hmm, yeah you might be right on that one.
Mangs
Lucky Crit also thinks that Mae and Boey are the Cain and Abel of Celica's route
No. They're not *an* archetype, they are part *of* an archetype.

Torgor
Camilla and Peri have great backstory potential
FE Fates is named "FE Wasted Potential because IS is lazy" in Japan. Did you know that?
IMO, Arthur should not be categorized with the likes of Peri. His gimmick is highly prevalent, but it does not drag characters down like Peri. In his case, I think it to be a more endearing gimmick. Thank you so much for doing a video on Saizo, Mangs. He is my favorite Fates character!
I married Saizo in my Birthright run, giving Corrin +Skill/-Res. Asugi and Kana were nightmares. It was /great./
Omg I married saizo too. My corrin was +skill/-hp. Asugi was a monster swordmaster lol

KAMIKAZE! I will never forget that time then blazingegg said that.

Nothing personnel, kid...
You should totally do a spotlight on Anri. The one character we hardly know about. Lol
Wait..but aren't Forsyth and Lukas the first of the Cain and Abel archetype? Or are they. It considered to be that in garden?
Fire Emblem Garden: Shadows of Fruit Trees
In Gaiden, Forsyth didn't had his green attire like it does in Echoes, so I guess that's why he isn't considered.
Funny enough Mae and Boey had red and green attires (somewhat) in Gaiden, which would kind of make them the Cain and Abel of Gaiden.
Dakon Requiem oh yeah. The gaiden art design was all over the place.
Hell Yeah!!! Ive been waiting for Saizo for a while and now I am happy!
Didn’t FE2/15 have Cain and Abel archetypes who were’n’t cavs? Two pairs in fact?
Forsyth wasn't green in the original game. They changed it for Echoes.
I smiled too much with the "Green unit" bit
-Saizo IS he's real name, same goes with Asugi's
-He died in conquest, not Birthright
-Lukas and Forsyth were the firsts Cain/Abel archetype that weren't Cavaliers
TheOmegaGreen X Um no? Forsyth was purple in Gaiden, try again.
Best boy Matthew spotlight when?
Also I thought the Axefighters from Thracia 776 were the first to break the Chain of The Cavaliers
If there ever comes a pick my edits for fates, Saizo and Kaze better be turned into cavaliers.
Is it just me or does Boey wearing green and Mae having a red chest plate remind me of the Cain and Abel archetype?
I love the videos so much it's fun to learn about the units that you might look over .
But hey since this is about fates is female corrin cannon Beacuse of the whole warriors thing or..... not
Lil mistake:
The first Cain-Abel characters that aren't cavalry are in Gaiden:
-Lukas/Forsyth
-Mae/Boey
Sakura is actually balanced in both magic and stength. Having her as a mother to Asugi doesnt really sacrafice strength for him.

Can you do a next spotlight on Azama next please?
Please do Kagero! I think she’s a really interesting character, that is really overlooked due to her character design
Please do Hana. I think you could find something to work with.
Do a Spotlight on Sigurd, or a Laser Pointer on Noish.
I know this isn't gonna be a highly requested one, but I would love to see Felicia if you haven't done here yet.
