What does a coach really do?
Think of a coach as your personal expert in restaurant management and growth - someone with real-world experience and success to back it up. One of the biggest advantages of having a coach is their ability to see what you might not. When you're in the thick of things, it's easy to overlook critical details or miss opportunities. A coach helps illuminate those blind spots.
For example, I recently worked with a member who was already very successful. However, I discovered their kitchen labor efficiency was terrible, even though their labor percentage seemed fine. With years of experience in budgets and working with thousands of restaurants, I knew their food sales were only 30% of total sales, skewing the kitchen labor story. We needed a dollars-per-labor-hour-worked analysis to highlight that their kitchen was draining profitability due to inefficiencies.
Similarly, many members focus on labor costs and use incorrect food cost targets, hurting their bottom line. By working together, we identify a plan to crush food costs while maintaining high quality and staying true to their core values, ultimately boosting their profits.
Why do you need a coach?
Tailored advice: A good coach provides guidance through the complexities of restaurant management, from cost controls to employee training systems.
Accountability: Setting goals is easy; sticking to them is not. A coach keeps you on track, ensuring you achieve your objectives.
Pushing boundaries: Comfort zones are familiar, not profitable. A coach encourages you to try new strategies, embrace technology, and make transformative decisions for your business.
Group wisdom: Beyond one-on-one coaching, group sessions can be incredibly powerful. Imagine a community of restaurant owners all sharing, learning, and growing together. In these groups, you benefit from collective wisdom and a support network. Running a restaurant can be isolating, but in group coaching, you're never alone. You're part of a community that genuinely understands and supports your journey.
For instance, in one of our recent sessions, a member shared with everyone how they achieved a 90% or better completion rate on their daily checklists, improving operations and employee happiness. Such insights from peers facing similar challenges are invaluable.
    Take the next step
Whether it's seeing the unseen, pushing your boundaries, or connecting with a community, coaching can transform your restaurant. It can be the difference between being a prisoner to your restaurant and achieving true restaurant prosperity-financial freedom and success.
Remember, leadership isn't just about being present; it's about being effective.
