4" walls on a coastal home... I understand a lot of these houses are in warmer climates, but even Tampa, Fl drops below freezing temps in January. Where is the insulation? Or does the solid concrete naturally remedy that all on own?
Hey Jennifer, foundation insulation it's not required in FL because you are in climate zone 1 or 2 meaning that freeze occurs above ground. Here in NC we are in zone 3 so freezing can occur up to 2 Ft. below ground level vs zone 4 like KY where freezing can occur up to 4 Ft. below ground level.
