I get the impression Denny was just like your average guy that you'd swap stories with at the pub. He also had a talent for song writing and music. I think Paul likes to dip his toe into the working class situation he came from but is firmly aloof and maybe a bit contemptuous towards that situation. Denny and Paul had a close relationship but I have no doubt Paul has to have people subservient to him, he wants people to know he's the main man. Paul is a genius and living legend but I think on a human level Denny would have been a better person to engage with.
