I was an extra on Dawson's Creek back in 2000 and overheard an argument between Katie and James Van Der Beek in which they were debating the Olympics. Katie was very passionate about them and I thought it was hilarious because she got mad at James for not liking them. She tried to get Josh Jackson involved in the discussion and he said, "I'm Canadian, I'm staying out of this."

I don't know why do americans films love to cast over 25+ years older to be a highschool student LMAO. Unlike here in the Philippines we have bunch of actors and actresses that suitable for the characters.
Due to Child labour laws and also having them due sexual stuff could get them in trouble. Casting older people saves alot of trouble and as well they have lived thru the teenage years themselves and therefore they have more experience.
