The deep compression on Howard's voice is distracting.
When I play the show on my big speakers with my sub woofer you can REALLY hear how ridiculous it is... everyone else has a normal voice -- Howard can whisper one word like "yeah," and you hear "BOOOM." It's so fucking over the top

I think playing this stuff was bittersweet for Howard. On one hand it’s a great bit, and hilarious. On the other, I think Howard did resent that Jackie turned the show down, yet will do anything else.
I never understood why Jackie didnt sell the 4 little homes he had & buy one big nice house. I know that ex wife of his went to one of the houses to feel like she had a office to go to. Her only client was her husband . It was so strange. She did the artwork on his cd's. It was their money anyway. Sounds like they do miss him.
It's been long known among Howard and Fred and Gary n Robin that Jackie's wife was a whore bag who cheated constantly and had sex in that so called office of hers . She's a real pig who went on Stern after divorcing Jackie to choose 1 of 3 regular callers , Irish John , Paulie the mob guy and another guy to date . However Jackies ex wife said she only wanted to screw the guy she picks and wants no relationship. Allison Fred's wife is also a big slut who's been cheating on Fred since the start even having her own separate apt like Beth . Fred was literally a virgin before marrying her and was extremely socially awkward. We are talking about a man who literally had tons of whores on the show coming on to him and he was too awkward until Allison came along who was a well experienced woman who took control and took Fred's virginity . He married the first woman he had sex with and will forever be loyal to her giving the whore a lavish cushy lifestyle all while getting her sex from other men like the guy from the play she was in.
"He fancied himself a jokewriter" is one of the funniest things on this clip.
Yet Pelican kept him employed for 20 years as his head writer. Figure that one out.

It seems mean but keep in mind, Jackie put them thru a lot of hell for years. Jackie demanding money was the least of it. He was a bitter, paranoid, passive aggressive pain in the ass, with a few fun parties sprinkled in. Anytime someone leaves a situation and EVERYONE cringes at the thought of him coming back, that's how you know. Jackie blames all of this bad will on "they're mad at me for asking for more money". That's insane. Robin said it best when he visited in 2011, "Jackie, you have no idea how light this place got when you left". That's way more than money issues. Other than Stuttering John, Jackie is the least self-aware person on Earth.

We all know funny people in our lives, Jackie was at about that level, as funny as "that guy at work". He was a goofy guy that memorized hundreds of basically knock knock jokes. He wasn't a great talent like Gottfried or West or literally anyone else really!

Don’t forget when the first did the E! Show..... Robin, Fred, & Maybe Gary were basically forced to sign a contract for 10k for the whole year, NOT PER SHOW, For the Year, which was under the SAG minimum wage etc , & if you didn’t sign, then Howard would do extremely unethical practices by still using Their content/Material (Writing / Lines/ Interview questions they wrote/Bits/ Segments etx), & on top of that he would still use their voice & he would just turn the lights off above them so they weren’t lit (so basically a shadowy figure), then Jackie & Billy tried negotiating & the whole time Howard Slammed Jackie for being greedy & it ended up being the reason Billy West left the show, & Then Jackie was able to negotiate & Get a whole 20-25k for the whole year ......& was still slammed as being difficult & then Howard got all of the money made as well as getting Control Of The Content library without paying or giving them any royalties etc ...Lets not forget Howard was a flop for a decade in Radio & only started getting any kind of ratings / Notoriety once Fred & Robin were with him, & Fred was doing overnights in Hartford & would stay & help Howard for Free, (Howard still didn’t finish in the Top Of the ratings then for his Hartford Time Slot with Fred’s Free help, but Hartford with Fred did help his resume & helped him get the better jobs

Poor Jackie , If he only could have realized he was literally a charity case who's ego got so big, he burned his own bridge demanding a million dollars last contract when he was worth maybe 50k a year tops . He was making over 400k they offered 500k last offer and over and a month later he called to ask if he could have his job back and Tom said sorry Jackie we decided to move on . End of Jackies golden ticket into Hollywood Howies world .

@@P715R I have to agree with you 100%. Artie is a funny guy, I never cared for Sal and Richard, but when Jackie and Billy were there the show was firing on all cylinders. Unlike Artie who relied on great stories, Jackie was the cause of great teamwork.
Everybody vs Jackie is by far the greatest moments of the show. The fact that Jackie was writing most of the insults against him and Nancy makes him a genius
I remember Jackie wearing his Jokeland T-shirt when he was on The Aristocrats. By the way, the extra on the DVD are spectacular, especially the commentary from Penn Gilette and Paul Provenza.

Jackie is a good fun guy to me. He made that bad mistake at the end but for years everyone involved thought he was worth 400K/yr and i believe Howard put the kibosh on further raises as he was jealous. Some people dont want ANYONE to make money except themselves.
He was offered way more than 400k. It was inching closer to a million than 400k by the end of the contract plus plugs.
The Stern show definitely ain't the same anymore especially over the last 5 or 6 years...never thought Howard would go semi -woke and forget what made his career.
I get that he got older and wants to tone it down a bit and be known as being a great interviewer but he should be fighting the fight against all of this cancel culture bs.
Anyway, that said Jackie clearly gave up a prime gig here. Fred Norris makes 1 to 2 million a year as a background sidekick and it says he is worth approx 15 to 20 million on the internet.
Plus, Howard works like 3 days a week now and takes long breaks in the summer and around the end of the year. Pretty sweet gig to walk away from.
