My lab has helped so many kids get over their fear of dogs. When my mum used to pick me up from primary school, everyone would come swarming just to come and cuddle Lucy. 10 years on, and she’s still the same big cuddly sweetheart. When walking her, so many people recognise her and call her by name (sometimes they’re people I’ve never seen in my life lol). She’s been my best friend from childhood all the way up to adulthood. I have so much love for her. Labs truly are the best dogs.
I couldn't finish watching your video because Freyja (our Rottweiler) nearly destroyed the monitor because she was so excited about seeing the Labradors
My Golden Labrador, Harry, was a rescued dog. We brought him home at about 20 months old and we have had him for 7 years. He will be 9 in about August/September of this year, 2019. Beautiful natured dog. Unfortunately he has never been trained. And even now he won't come when called. But we adore him all the same.
Thanks for useful info for Labrador. I have a golden labrador, 9 months, or 25kg weight, bt ni proper training, no access to trainers from my place. I need some tips for keep it in good behaviour for my pet !!
My yellow lab Sausage is almost 12, she is the loveliest girl i have every owned (sorry to my other dogs aha) and she is very loving to everyone she meets.
Hi I just acquired a silver Labrador she was born December 5th 2017 this video has some great tips it was just wondering if you have more videos out there for puppy Labradors
One of my 2 dogs is a black lab mix and he is the kindest, smartest dog ever. Every dog he sees....he gets so excited. Every time a dog passes our house he`s like "hey you come here and play with me, hey where are you going" :P He just wants to have a million doggie friends :P
oh my god your dog is just like my black lab.. he doesnt want to fight any dogs.. when bullied he just run away.. he wants to play even with stranger dogs that really amazed me.. he wants all the dogs to be his friend!
Hey, my pet's name is Lisa. She's labra , she's 6 months now so cute and innocent but the thing I want to share with you is , she's so calm that once she didn't bark at anyone whole 3 days . She's so soft hearted , one day I yell at her and she didn't eat anything that day untill I came to her and feed her with my own hands. She's so cute but doesn't know how to deal with other animals.
We've got a wonderful Labrador, he's 4.5 years old fantastic with our children and normally very chilled. But when I take him out walking he's fine, occasionally doesn't come back straight away but if I take my mountain bike (my knees get sore) he goes crackers with excitement (barking a lot) until we get going and then he's happy, but if I stop and talk he's really impatient and stays barking again until we get moving. How can I train him not to do this. He goes out at least twice a day and for between 4 and 10km in total. Any advice very welcome
hi alice what kind of dog breed can a labrador get along with or shall i say best dog breed for his company.. my lab is alone and i want get another dog for him to play with.. my lab i cant really understand he is extremely friendly he doesnt bark people he plays with stranger dogs, cats, goats, cow, and the last i saw her play was a frog! hahaha damn i really need to have another one for him to play.. what breed could be best for him?
I have a 4 month old yellow lab female. Any tips on how to get her to stop playing so rough with our elderly shih-tzu ? At first it was just jumping around a little, now she almost tackles the shih-tzu and wraps her mouth around her body.
My black Lab died of some kind of tumors 2 years ago. He was only 12 years old. I miss him so much but I am afraid to get another because the pain of his death is so bad. He was owned by a guard dog service and they said he was too nervous to work out in their business. Suffice to say, in my care he was the calmest, kindest dog I have ever owned. Can you recommend anything for me to own or adopt?
Hi just watched your video, I have one year old Labrador male. I gave him behavioral training as he is very aggressive and naughty but he still doesn't follow the instructions. He steel food, he is very excited to see strangers and damage a lot of things when alone kindly help with some tips. Thanks.
My six months Male labrador is over existed. Always jumps on visitors, during walk, initial 10 minutes pulls like anything please suggest how to train on these two parameters
pull, be overly excited, eat obnoxious things ... what my lab does all the time. but the most goofy stable friendly angellic dog I've ever had! Good girl, Chung Soon.
My lab is highly energetic and loves to play and go for run with me but when on leash he keeps pulling me. He also gets over joyous when he sees another animal and human being and just wants to jump over and play with them. Any suggestions or video to curb this part of his?
I have a labrador, he is 4 years old and I dont't like to reward him only with food, so I usually go out without any treats. But it seems to me like when Im calling him he is not so motivated because I have nothing to give, even if I let him know I am very happy when he is obedient... It feels like he would only like to come to me when he gets food. Same with fetching balls, usually not so excited and likes to smell the new ground rather.
I have a puppy named Rhodey. He is 2 months old. He is not listing only my words and he is friendly with other people. He is not enjoying with me. Please suggest what should I do. I just want to make him happy.
my baby boy pulls on the leash and its getting really hard to walk him, he's really fit and doesn't have excess fat and all, but no matter how we try to walk him it doesn't work...he also holds the leash (a part of it) in his mouth and walks ahead of us like he's taking us for a walk...we have gone through 6 leashes in a year and we only use it for walks. how can I break this habit? I also tried a harness which he didn't like. I would really like to know how I can correct this habit.
Leash training is a tough one, this is what I did. 1. Start small walks on leash at home, keep treats handy 2. Make your lab walk beside you while you hold the treat, ever 5 steps treat him 3. If he moves ahead of you, stop and call him back, once he is back start walking again and treat every 5 steps he walks next to you 4. Now take him to a more open space but not too noisy backyard/ roof/ is great place. Follow step 1 to 3. 5. Gradually increase space and finally take him on the road. 6. Don't entertain leash pull. Of he moves ahead, don't walk. STOP right there. Call him back and start walking, do treat him for coming back to you though. Good Luck 🙂
Mark Amor Start training from day 1 and keep doing it! I’ve started all of my pups about a week after getting them, give them a little time to settle into the new surroundings. Training should be ongoing.
This sounds exactly like my dog he tugs on his leash tries to steal food off the counter he also doesn't come when called he's 2 years old now. He us overly excited around family and people and jumps on them all the time I've tried training him but he's my first dog so I'm learning.
Hey Evelyn! Spend as much time with your dog and create the best relationship possible. Encorage with positive reinforcement the behaviours you want more of and work on the areas of the behaviours you want less of. You're in for a treat with your new relationship. Dogs are awesome!🐶❤
My black lab is Cypress, he is incredible but I can't take him to pubic places because he gets way too excited. He is amazing off leash on hikes and outdoor play times but I can't take him to my friends houses because he is too overwhelmed by the new smells and excitement, any suggestions?
Take them to new places with distractions to get them familiar and calm at these type of situations but at the starting of these keep them always on leash
Indeed labrador are friendly, lovable and friendly kind of dog...and one of the most intelligent dog...try to watch in my channel about how playful labrador is...see you.

Hello I have a big problem with my 7 months male British Labrador.. He jumps on me , bytes me and steals my 1.5 years havenese male dog food everytime and he is very jealous he doesn’t allow my havanese dog to play with me at all... Please help me what should I do???
Hi, looks like you could do with a little bit of help. To start, I would suggest that you feed the two dogs separately. Make sure you give both dogs one on one time with you, with the other dog enjoying a chew or a stuffed kong in another room or in a crate or behind a baby gate. You could also teach them both to settle down on a mat and gradually add distractions. Eventually, you will be able to interact with one dog, while the other is on their mat, waiting for their turn or enjoying a chew or a "snuffle mat". To help with jumping up and biting, I would advise that you see a trainer or behaviour specialist, who can look closer at the problem and create a training and management plan specific to your situation. If you would like to get in touch with us, you can find us online at www.royvon.co.uk or on FB (facebook.com/DogHotels/) All the best, Aleks
So we live on the country and I rescued an adult female black labrador, you just described her :) its amazing! but the problem is she started hunting birds and rats, im really concerned please help! I think she needs to have a job not just random playing time, please help
ranish shrestha it is quite normal for teething puppies. Keep in mind that they bite when bored so try to exercise them, teach them fetch to keep them running without being exhausted. Give them chew toys to play with. And do not be so soft with them, specially when they are still puppies. Exercise your dominance when they are not doing something good. My puppy used to bite peoples feet and I often tell them to slap their palm against their shin or shoes to make an unpleasant noise to let the puppy know it's not a good behavior to bite unto people's feet.
I'm guilty of never leash training my dog Lady. That being said, she never needed a leash. I lost her a year ago, and still mourn her passing... EVERYONE loved "My Little Girl" Lady (she was 10). I hope she's waiting in heaven for me :-) My X-wife of two years once said, "I wish you loved me as much as you do Lady... I responded, when you look at me the way Lady does, I'll think about it:-).,
My labrador is my profile picture her name is Emily i have had her since puppyhood and she is 7 years old now i got her when i was 7 years old and now im 12 so she does get exited and she will pull but i tell her heal and she comes back she is a very loving and intellegant dog and loyall :) i love my yellow lab .But she has 20 percent pitbull too so yeah but she is more labrador so :)
I have a 7 month old female black lab that jumps up to greet people EVERYTIME and I don’t know how to get her to stop. She is so smart and well behaved, but when she gets excited she just has to jump up on somebody. She also pulls horribly on the leash. She refuses to stop pulling until she gets tired. Then doesn’t want to walk anymore.
Zae Traylor As for the jumping up on people, I have a suggestion. When she jumps up shift her position so she's resting on your forearms. That means her weight has moved from your (probably) chest onto her feet. It's uncomfortable and she'll start squirming to get down and will stop jumping up on people. Worked for me. Good luck.
My lab has helped so many kids get over their fear of dogs. When my mum used to pick me up from primary school, everyone would come swarming just to come and cuddle Lucy. 10 years on, and she’s still the same big cuddly sweetheart. Labs can have “selective hearing” 😂. Great Dogs.
That's actually called an "untrained dog" or it sees you as its pet, not its owner. 😂

one downside to Labs is a rather destructive tail--although getting tail smacked does cure nerves in kids intimidated by size and "play with me now" barking--especially when their friends are laughing
hahaha when my lab sees my dad get home he wags his tail n there is a empty water can by the door and it sounds like he is playing the drums....but getting slapped at the neck or on the face isn't so funny....
Tom tom, Never put a glass of liquid on a coffee table when there's a lab around. Lol
Those tails are like steel rods. They're extremely strong and can knock stuff over so easily.
Hahahaha “some of the issues are” ..... everything my pitador does XD
i was planning on having one as my companion but i am worried if they would be able to sustain a hot and humid climate like 30-38 degree Celsius and 50-70% humidity level
Labs don't like it warm. Mine hides under the kitchen table whenever the thermostat goes near 30 °
I live in Florida and have a black lab. Be very aware of the temp and watch the dog closely while outside. Mine will sit in the shade and hits the pool a lot when it’s hot in the summer. Also, when it’s hot, be aware of their feet on hot pavement.

vikas rauthan it is possible but is significantly harder because their brain is fully developed at that age

VividPuff let him pull harder

I usually do little tugs to calm him down. Just consistent little tugs will let them know what he is doing right on a leash and what is unacceptable.

I have had many mix's of breeds. But my favorite is a Labrador mix. I do not buy purebreds. Lab mutts are the perfect compromise.
Good luck.
I suggest u dont leash her as leashing makes the dog ur dominating atleast let her not leashed for awhile
the same problem i have
Is Alex a polish girl? Say hello to her ;)
