Hi there! I work as a scribe for an ophthalmologist office so I hope this helps: a stye is a blocked gland in the eyelid. It’s blocked by thick oil. So to help it’s best to use a warm wash cloth frequently and try to massage it with your thumb to flatten it out and to get the oils out. Nothing major to worry about! It happens to almost everybody. Using a warm compress in general is good for everybody for good eye health to avoid dry eyes! If you want something fancier, try a bruder mask.
Yes!!! This is great advice. You could call up her pediatrician, and update them on the sty not going away. So they can keep track of it. Also get into an eye doctor. It’s worth it.
What they also say helps is soaking a washcloth with chamomile tea and gently pressing it against the sty. If it doesn't improve at all, it could be a chalazion - in that case I would try to get an appointment at an ophthalmologist's office to get that sorted out
Yes girl! I’m an ophthalmic technician/medical scribe for an ophthalmologist too! He is a retina specialist so we really don’t get cases like this but the other ophthalmologist or optometrist I work with do. Good information! Do you all ever suggest baby shampoo mixed warm water dabbed on eyelid?
I know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
I work for an Ophthalmologist, keep trying a warm compress and much as possible, I know she’ll fight it but it will bring it to a head and drain on its own. They also have baby eye wipes that can help with clogged tear ducts.
A few months ago I started to get a sty. So I boiled water, wet a tea bag in it and, let it cool a little, applied it to the sty for a few minutes and the next morning it was gone. This opens up the sty so it can drain. Make sure it's not too hot for her. That's how you drain a sty. Camomile is good for skin so you might try that.
Use a warm washcloth on her eye my niece had the same thing it will clear up Carlin you should sing more you are blessed with such a beautiful voice!!!!
I love you guys. Best family on UA-cam. I have just got home from a 1700klm trek to have spinal surgery and all I wanted was to watch my Stew Crew. Big hugs Layla - you will be fine with a Mama and Papa like you have. Big love from the girl Down Under. xxxxxxxx
Your such a good mother, just remember your first child is the foundation of how to be a parent . The two of you are doing a great job, blessings to your family
Awe I just love watching you guys each week. You’re such a happy little family and they way you both dote over Layla is so cute. She’s a very lucky little girl 🥰🥰🥰
Loved seeing Layla going down the slide herself, she looked so joyful! Praying for her eye to be healed. Sounds like you learned a few things on your doctor visit, that’s always valuable. So enjoy your family updates.
Carlin, I had stye's all the time as a child. When they drain the stye they basically do a small incision or use a needle and they drain the puss inside, almost like popping a pimple. I had to do it twice as a kid!
Ok so my mom said (if no allergy to milk) try a cotton ball soaked with warm milk to put on her sty. I don’t know if it helped me but I thought it would be worth a try. Probably 4 x a day for a week.
Carlin and Evan you two are a joy to watch 😀 Not sure you had the most fun at the park Carlin, Layla or Izzy.. looks like it was a match up between Carlin and Izzy Rue 🤸♀️😄 Layla does not need her eye drained(as long as it's not affecting her) just keep praying over it for healing and use the ointments the doctor prescribed she should be fine it goes away eventually. All the best and can't wait to see Evan's new glasses.. my daughter wears them and she picked her otherwise we would have been there forever cuz I'm very Indecisive too till next time ✌🏾 Btw Evan so could have ended the vlog with Carlin jump and hand to the camera it was epic and very cute may I add 😜😜✌🏾
My son had the same thing. We as well was worried. The Dr also gave us meds cream for him too, and didn't quite work.. The best that worked for him was warm compressing with a towel. I started doing it every night, as long as he could handle it as he was getting sleepy. And every now and then through the day on nap times. He has been good since. He is 16 now, never came back again. God bless.💕
I just love you two!!! Obviously like many I first came across you on TLC and have followed your beautiful relationship from there and just adore you both. I'm so thankful God worked his love and grace and brought you two together because you are truly the cutest sweetest couple! Layla is beyond Blessed to have you two has her parents and I can't wait to see what else God has in store for your beautiful family! Thank you for sharing your life, love and family with us.. God Bless 🙏🏻
I get a sty every so often but it ONLY lasts a few days each time. You can put a warm face washer/flannel (unsure what Americans call it) or also rub a gold ring on it a few times a day. My son gets them sometimes too now. A sty is annoying but nothing too serious. If Layla has had redness & discharge that isn't getting better it is infected & definitely needs antibiotics & some cream. If you google about it, it explains how they develop etc.
One of of my daughters had that when she was little as it was a bacterial thing time and medicine it was went to away Its could be a 100 different things in would make an appt ASAP with the a pediactric optomologist. Most of of the all don't worry keep it in the prayers
You know all you have to do is ask them for the pair you like and they'll order them for you without prescription lenses, right?! Lol...I had to do that for our oldest daughter! 😁😁😁 You're welcome Carlin!
I feel Evan's pain for shopping for glasses. I can't see past my nose, so when I go glasses shopping I would grab a pile of them that I thought was cute. Then I would have the staff help me pick which one would look good on me plus then also fit with my prescription. Carlin they have fashion glasses in the accessories department. Also wearing a mask with glasses is a pain.
I used to work for an ophthalmologist: styes in no way affect vision, it is a clogged oil gland. Push gently on it, use warm compresses to draw out the stuck/stale oil.
My son had a stye as well and his pediatrician told me to wash his eye with warm water and baby shampoo right on the stye (rubbing it softly) with a Q-tip using both ends and doing that twice a day and after that put a warm compress on it. Did it for about a week and it was gone and never came back. Hope it works for baby Layla. Love watching Bringing Up Bates and I am counting the days for the new season to start.
I’ve been watching quite a bit of UA-cam videos and I must say, you guys are killing it with these vlogs! I love you guys! Hello from LA California!! 😎
I used to get styes all the time when I was little! I went to the doctor once to get it checked when it got bad, and he said that if you wash with baby shampoo on the eyes, it prevents them! It definitely works!
Try putting warm compresses on the sty for a few days off and on. Also, wash eye lid with baby shampoo like Johnson & Johnson. That was recommended when I had one and it cleared it up.
So looking forward to new season of bringing up bates😀 it is going to feel so different since getting to know you on iTunes and Instagram😀I just bought new glasses I wasn’t allowed to touch frames randomly to try on because of COVID I picked out and technician took for me to try😀I agree with warm washcloth for eye just make sure washcloth washed with healthy safe free detergent😀before
just an old trick. Next time take evan's wedding band and put it in some warm water and then put it on the stye. Silver has natural antimicrobial properties so it helps kill the bacteria that causes the stye. Putting it in warm water heats up the ring a little bit and acts as a warm compress! I get styes all the time and this trick has saved me!
I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 3. Picking out glasses is a pain, so indecisive too. I’m sorry about Layla. She’s been through a lot. Hope things get better. 💕
Use a warm cloth on Layla's eye. It helps so much and it helps with drainage. I suffered with them and a warm wash cloth helped clear my styes, and it cleared them before I had to get mine drained.
Hi so sorry Layla is not well hopefully shell be better soon Evan is so funny it's just so nice to see such abeautiful family. Nice to see that you are faithful to God put it in his hands an he will sort it out . Blessings an prayers to u all 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍
Carlin, happy to share my eye problems!😂🤓 Evan, congrats on ANY weight loss and switching from contacts to glasses, letting your eyes”breathe!”liked the RayBans b/c I just got me a pair at Pearle Vision! Picking glasses is HARD! Only once in my life did I try to go it alone!
Carlin, I grew up jumping off buildings, out of swings etc. I'm 64 and still kicking. , lol. I'm not mentioning the 7 back surgeries. I'm sure that had nothing to do with it. Oh, yeah, I forgot the jumping Jack's. A 2×4 laying like a see-saw, with two or three cement blocks that you jump on. Yep. Lots of fun games!
Who had the most fun at the park ? I thank Carlin did! Love y'all 's videos Layla is getting so big she is BEAUTIFUL! Pray that God heale`s her eye so she doesn't have to have it drain it!!!!!!Hope y'all have a wonderful day Stay safe an health from Harlan Kentucky!!!!! God bless your little family stay safe!!! Carlin that voice!!!! Beautiful, angelic and I wanna hear more please.
I work for an Ophthalmologist, keep trying a warm compress and much as possible, I know she’ll fight it but it will bring it to a head and drain on its own. They also have baby eye wipes that can help with clogged tear ducts.
Carlin u sounded amazing singing 😊...poor Layla hope she feels better soon with her eye ....
Layla is just too cute! She looks so much like her daddy!!

Warm wash cloth repeatedly on her eye will help clear it up.
Poor wee Layla, she’s a real little trooper.
Your such a good mother, just remember your first child is the foundation of how to be a parent . The two of you are doing a great job, blessings to your family
Everything with your baby is always soooo scary no matter what age they become!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love to you and your family
Awe I just love watching you guys each week. You’re such a happy little family and they way you both dote over Layla is so cute. She’s a very lucky little girl 🥰🥰🥰
I love that Evan has Carlin in his phone as “Baby Mama” 😂😂😂
Hahaha I didn't even notice that 😄
Carlin living her best life at the park🤣 I get excited for these videos every week and I love watching the Webster family! ❤️
Praying that Layla's eye improves. Thank you for sharing your family special moments. GOG BLESS!

Layla is so adorable!! Prayers 🙏🙏 for her eye to get better soon! I love your family ❤️
Warm compresses might help!
Love y'all!
God bless you new parents!
Good job!
Layla's getting so big. Love seeing her walking now. Keep us all updated on Layla's eye
Warm compresses with a wet wash cloth can bring the sty to a head and drain. That is what I did for my kids when they got them.

Wow. I can't believe how much she looks like her daddy. Beautiful Baby Girl. God bless you all

Don’t get it drained! My twins use to get it all the time. Warm compresses. 3 times a day. Keep it clean.

You aren’t weird Carlin. Lol 😂
Also, love the outfit Carlin!
Hope and pray Layla feels better!

Cute video. Glad Layla will be ok...that dog should have her own IG too..lol!
Could listen to Carlin sing all day.
Hey, y’all have such a beautiful family!!Layla is adorable!
Any eye related problems take Layla to a pediatric Ophthalmologist. General PCPs don’t have the equipment to properly diagnose problems.
I hope Layla’s eye gets better soon!
LOL jeans. Carlin you have a beautiful voice need to sing more for us.💯🥰
I feel Evan's pain for shopping for glasses. I can't see past my nose, so when I go glasses shopping I would grab a pile of them that I thought was cute. Warm compression. I have heard breastmilk in the eye helps too. I would try thoses before going to a eye doctor.
I used to work for an ophthalmologist: styes in no way affect vision, it is a clogged oil gland. Push gently on it, use warm compresses to draw out the stuck/stale oil.
Sooo cute!! Making me miss my grandchildren. They're such a cute family❣

A very warm, clean washcloth applied to her sty. Also a prescribed cream is necessary
I love little Layla's hands when she is "reaching out" for someone, so cute!!
Oh wow! I'm so sorry! Atleast it's not going to damage her eyesight and it doesnt hurt!❤
Great ending of the vlog, you guys make me laugh!

Sounds like it mighr be a clogged tear duct...not uncommon in littles.
Oh my goodness. So much silliness that I didn't know I needed. New sub. I don't know why it took so long for me to find you on the tubes. This is the 2nd vid I watched today.. very entertaining and creative content.
Btw.. this may sound weird, and I thought so too almost 20yrs ago when an older momma told me... Try gently rubbing back and forth a gold ring on her lid, close to her lashes to reduce the stye. I washed my gold ring and tried it on my infant son. It went down in one day and was gone cometely in about 2.5 days, and didn't come back. Something about the mineral gold helps it drain naturally. I've also used this method on myself. Just an older momma's tip passing along.
Praying all goes well with the stye.
D
Evan your such a cutie..your always so upbeat such a good daddy and husband !! You and Carlin are such beautiful people...love y'all kisses to precious Layla I had bad problems when I was little with styes finally my mama found an eye Dr that helped me poor bb girl ..😘👼🌻🌼💜🌟💜
Carlin where did you get that tee shirt??? I need one!!..muuuuwahhhh..😘
My daughter had this. We put a warm wet compress on it until it drained I’m it’s own.
Mama went crazy at the park LOL 🤣
If there’s any way to hold a hot compress on her eye, it should go down and drain itself (it will drain into the tear duct- not hazardous)
Hot water on a towel and hold it on her eye (if she will let you)
Praying for sweet girl! Y’all are amazing parents
I grew up having stys my whole childhood and into adulthood. I didn't have medication to use but they would go away and come back. Mine were quite a bit worse at times being very swollen.
We are all kids at heart. Besides you are only as old as you feel. Hopefully Layla's eye is getting better. It looked like a fun day at the park.
She’s gonna be fine little princess 👸🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🙏♥️
Such a sweet little family!! Layla probably has a stopped up tear duct!
Look into a product called Heyedrate Lid and Lash Cleanser available on Amazon. My husband had recurring styes and the ointment the doctor prescribed just didn't help. So along with warm compresses, he used this spray twice daily. You can also try Ocusoft or Equate brand Lid scrub wipes available at Walmart.
You guys are such a cute 🥰 family. Layla is so cute 🥰 and growing up so fast…. And now u guys are expecting baby #2… Love ❤️ you guys
The part about glasses so true!! I have glasses an prefer my contacts in a big way. Im having to wear glasses at the moment die to ocular migraines an allergy eyes so 2 different eye drops help with that..
Hope your eye feels better Layla!!!😗😗😗😗
I'm with Carlin - I have always loved glasses too and want them and want my partner to have them hehe. I don't necessarily want to need them...but I love the look also, Clark Kent!
