I'm jealous that you managed to go to The Talyllyn Railway and the Bluebell Railway with your friends. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Hopefully one day I'll visit some of these preservation railways United Kingdom.
I was - legitimately - among the people there at the Talyllyn Railway for the Extravaganza weekend, holidaying especially for the purpose with my dad, and it was incredible to be able to introduce myself to people whom I had, up to then, only gotten to associate myself with through commenting on their videos. Notably I was able to hint at my plans going forward with TardisRescue - aka Daniel Long - whose videos I have had the pleasure to comment on and get pleasured responses. I also briefly talked with Luke Ryan, explaining a coincidence or two in my ideas with the revelations made to me among the crowd present for the Railways of Sodor lecture reading. I also visited the headquarters of the Vale of Rheidol Railway and had a guided look round their engine shed; I was given the option of travelling that railway on my own, but I lost out in the end. Regards, Samuel Farris.
Neither is City of Truro. Unlike when Flying Scotsman is depicted conversing with Gordon (with a face), I only remember Truro and Talyllyn being fleeting visitors on the last page and not interacting with the main characters, or at least not at lengths warranting adding a face to express their emotions.🤔
16:04 Anyone else immediately think of *"Gordon's Fire Service."?* 🔥🔥🔥 Glad you enjoyed you stay over here in the UK Nic. You can all be sure we're more then proud of our railways. I really wish i could go on a road-trip like this. I defiantly plan to visit the National Railway Museum in York one day like Thomas. Also i 100% agree... the average black & green liveries ( and to an extent those dull dark blue ones ) are way past they're prime. Time we finally added a bit more colour n' design to our railways like the Sodor engines, they'd defiantly be a bit more of a crowd drawer then.
Not your typical Unlucky Tug video, but a nice one nonetheless, it’s nice seeing vlogs like this every once in a while, see what people are getting up to and what they did on special trips
I have been to a few of these. My favourite out of these so far is The Welshpool and Llanfair Railway. Thanks for recommending it, as I agree it is underrated.
Forst of all, why didn't you reupload the first one? Secondly, It's amazing how Awdry's mentioning of this Railway in his books helped it become one of the most popular privately owned railways in the world. He really enspired a whole new generation of people to love steam engines as much as he did. This festival looks like it was a lot of fun and very interesting. I hope you go again this year.
That was a great video of your UK trip! And it's great you got to see and had fun on most of UK's steam railways. Let me say, It really was a great pleasure meeting you at the Talyllyn Railway. :) If you're able to, I hope maybe you could return to the Talyllyn Railway for the Awdry Extravaganza 3 for this year and we could meet again, as I'm planning to go to this one. But i guess only time will tell.
I live about 20 minutes from the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line). I take my son 3-year-old to Ropley station a couple of times a month to watch the trains come and go, look at engines and coaches in the yard, play with the wooden track they have, go on the miniature train and play in the park they have. For anyone within 30 minutes or so in need of a free day out, it's perfect!
You inspired me to do the same thing this year, coming from Austria. I'm going to the Extravaganza and visit the Severn Valley and maybe the Welshpool (which would be fun because they have Austrian engines!)
2 railways i highly recommend. Keighley Worth Valley Railway (pronounces Keith-lee) and the North York Moors Railway. 2 very special railways and you can do the York National Railway museum going between the 2 as you need to pass through york to get from 1 another
Rather surprised you didn't go to try and see Wadebridge, the oldest surviving Bulleid Light Pacific. Still in her original build condition too, not having been rebuilt like Taw Valley was.
Awesome stuff! Really inspires me even more to go on a trip of my own. Also, does anyone have any advice for someone from the US that wants to go on a UK Trip and see as many heritage railways as possible? Like on transportation, payment with US visas, anything is appreciated, because I really want to go
As someone who knows nothing about trains, I have a question for anyone willing to answer. When two trains were pulling cars, why were they back to back instead of facing the same direction?
Skarloey and Tallylynn Rheneas and Dolgoch Sir Handel and Sir Haydn Peter Sam and Edward Thomas Rusty and Midlander Duncan and Douglas Luke and Peter Pan
Excuse me unlucky tug I’d like to go to the great brittan in 2030s to visit a talylin railway to awdry exhibition and visit a bluebell railway and many other heritage railways that exist in Britain after living in Russia but first for trip to England I get visa
I am so unluky I live in England though in an erea where there is barley anything to do with trains and the closest thing is the national railway museum though that is a bit boring after a lot of visits

I never understood why Talyllyn and Dolgoch were never drawn with faces
I think because they are so iconic, and I know Talyllyn is technically a character in the railway series.
Maby to keep it as preserved as possible
They probably *do* have faces in the world of RWS, they just weren't drawn with them

City of Truro’s face was never shown in the RWS. Only his TVS model was faceless. He was given a face in a magazine story, so he does have one.
Was great to meet you nic and would love to chat again since Luke has had quite a few upgrades

I wish Mads would design some more faces for some narrow gauge engines sometime soon
SKARLOEY NEEDS A NEW FACE
I have been to a few of these. My favourite out of these so far is The Welshpool and Llanfair Railway. Thanks for recommending it, as I agree it is underrated.
12:36, Not to mention, They gave Molly a full yellow livery to make her stand out, and Rosie a pink livery.
I would love to one day see all the UK trains in person.
Yeah I want to see Tallylynn railway to see it
I'm lucky, Wales is only an hour away by car for me. Always love to see how beautiful it is, and the steam trains!
Those trains look cool. I wish I was there. And that name plate on that diesel was funny

Just one question is Tallylynn male or female

The TR is a bucket list destination for me. Right now it seems like a hopeless dream, but miracles can happen.
I hope to one day meet you when I go to the extravaganza myself with some friends! That’d be a dream! 😊
Wales aka WHERE I WAS BORN BABY this is the best place to be
Plus the talyllyn is the best railway ever

Bro trains are so satisfying one of the best vids from unluky tug ever thanks to him I have been inspired so much
20:13-20:16 Why no Michael Angelis since this takes place directly in the UK?
i just realized when this was posted (from the last channel) it was my birthday needless to say its a good present to end an era of my life
You seeing Cheltenham made me think "If you couldn't go to the National Collection, part of the National Collection went to you"
Fantastic video!!!! I volunteer at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and the man waving and driving Sir Hayden is Chris, the boss of the NYMR :)
Honestly the thomas model in this video is the best thomas midel ive ever seen. Usually they are out of proportion and look chunky or to long
This was the most amazing British engines/Thomas the tank engine type of video I got to see ❤
20:10 *Flashbacks of the smelter's yard* " _dear god._ "
God I really want to go to England one day!! Wish me luck that I can.🍀
I live near the seven valley and when I was a kid there used to be a Thomas the tank engine there was amazing
8:33 that engine definitely likes to complain and wants a word with the station master.

Is the Luke model supposed to a Railway Series-ified version of Luke from Thomas & Friends?
Yes
I imagine the q class got bullied in the sheds because of the fires, and Poplar absolutely FUMING over his broken parts.
I might write an Awdry-styled story based on those events on the Bluebell

If books for the railway series were still being made today, I KNOW for a FACT one would've been made about what happened at horse stead.
13:06. Dick Hardy is a Class 09 shunter, not a class 08
This is a really good reason why I want to go the United Kingdom and visit it's railways
This video is so cozy.

Anyone know what whistles Sir Haydn and Edward Thomas are wearing?
