i loooooove mini twists! i keep thinking i want locs too but i actually love the process if installing mini twists, letting them evolve over 6-8 weeks and then redoing them. i hate daily styling...but a weekend with mini twists been a vibe for over a year now and my hair is THRIVING! so i feel you. love her locs tho.

Very phenomenal journey. I'm so happy for you. I started my loc journey last year October 11th,and it's been 6 months so far. They are in the locking,and budding process now. My 4th time around having locs,I like them so far,my best set so far,keeping them this time,letting them grow long,and in for the long haul. I'm excited for some reason this time,my boyfriend was overjoyed as well, I made the decision to start them again,and he loves them. He has locs also, had them for 6 years now,I'm so jealous of his hair,and I can't wait to mines have a good amount of length. He said they will grow in no time,they growing very fast now, and he was anxious also when he started his journey. I’m a little ove 1.5 years into locs and I also started with 2 strand twist on about the same length if not a little longer than you. My has always naturally wanted to tangle and loc up so I just decided to let it do what it wanted to. I have a question though.. how long did it take for the very ends of your hair to loc. Some of my ends are starting to loc but some are still pretty curly. Also my locs have grown now back to the length that my hair basically was straight before I got them so that’s super nice to see.

Did your daughter asked to start locs ? Or did you go ahead and make the decision for her ? Because I’m 20, and I officially have my starter locs, and have already made the situation my future children will have them too. 😂😂 If I’m wrong, feel free to tell me.
I only use oils and water on my locs. I interlock 2 to 3 months apart. I just hit my 1 yr mark April 30th, From work and being home I do keep my hair tied up quiet often but I'm starting to see a little build up but don't have a clue how?? Also I still have frizz after a yr? What am I doing wrong?

For some reason it would begin breaking in my center crown area and I would cut it all off to start over. I named my first child after the character Nala (as spelled in the movie) from Lion King. Then we allowed Nalah (how I spell her name) to name our 2nd child, Ariel, after the Little Mermaid.😁 Those were the movies of the 90s when I had my girls. Anyway, I started my loc journey March 16, 2018 and I'm absolutely loving it! Wish I had done this 10 years ago. I have 73 locs. How many do you have?

Sis, feel your pain. Lol 😆 2 years in & still feeling raggedly some days. Cutting a bob style in really helped me adjust to wearing my locs out.

I started starter locs with the coil method. My twists didn’t really stay twisted when I did them.
